  1. I'll get my vid up tomorrow. I had an unexpected trip to michigan to help one of my buddies change out a motor. As far as silencers go, if you use anything but the fat boys, you will probably have to extend the inlets somewhat. I had to add about 3 inches to my PC's to get them to mate. I'll take a pic of that also. It's not hard to do if you have a welder and cutoff wheel.
  2. Good choice, i'm sure you'll like them  . I'll post a quick vid of mine too with pro circuit silencers on it tomorrow.
  3. I ride tight trails, ice/asphalt drag racing, and wide open areas. I've never ridden the mids myself but I don't think i would like them as much. The high revs have an awesome amount of low and still rev out hard. My advice would be to get the high revs since you do racing. If you end up feeling they're lacking in the woods, i'm sure you wouldn't have a problem trading them out for a set of mids. If you're anywhere near Lima Ohio, Detroit MI, or Gaylord MI (I bounce between the 3 on regular occasion) you're welcome to take a ride on mine to see how you like them.
  4. I have the pt high revs on a drag port motor with a single carb and the setup flat out rips. They have more low end than my fmf gnarly's had (which are a low/mid pipe), a smooth transition into the power band, and a mid/top that pull hard forever. Throttle response is also much improved over the fmf's. And of course, they just look sick. You can usually pick up a used set for a reasonable amount especially if they're not chrome.
  5. I have the pt high revs and absolutely love them. They look sick too. I switched to them from fmf gnarly's and the high revs have even more low/mid and a sick top end. My vote is to go high revs over mids. The mids supposedly peak and fall off sharply after 8500 ish and the high revs definitely pull hard wayyy past that still with an awesome low (even on my drag port motor).
  6. I use a 34 pj with a dial a jet and didn't have any tuning issues at all. The thing runs like a raped ape. The right needle does make a world of a difference though. MFI or EFI are the only things i would run over the single.
  7. I run the fzr600 clutch fibers with stock banshee steels, no o rings anywhere, 3 stock springs, and 3 stiff springs. I can't even get it slip drag racing on ice or pavement.
  8. It was an absolutely perfect day for riding. The ice was super smooth from being all melted this past weekend. Somehow it stayed hard all through the day despite the 40 degrees in the afternoon. There were only 2 guys on bikes and one guy who refused to even give a hi to me on a drag sled at the strip by the boat launch. I'd go out again but i'm headed up to gaylord/lewiston area tomorrow for some riding  .
  9. "spurdy: I've got a scar on my leg from a third degree burn from dicking around on it in shorts! LOL." One of the many reasons i love my pt high revs. I'd suggest trying out as many pipes as you can before you commit to buying. I found some local guys that let me borrow their pipes for a day to find what my porting liked the most. It was just a pain rejetting that many times in a single day haha.
  10. If anyone else has the day after Christmas off, I'm gonna be out on white lake riding/racing from probly 11am ish on. Hope to see some fellow hq'ers out there.
  11. I stopped by the white lake today and it was a giant slushie. The ice was thick but there was 1/2 inch of water/slush on top of it . A couple days of freezing temps and it would be good.
  12. I know how you feel Dave I. I brew my own bio diesel (which methanol is a key ingredient of) and i had to drive an hour and a half away from my college in Lima, OH to get a drum. And it was still $185 for it  . The funny thing is that one of the largest refineries in the midwest is right in Lima, go figure. The last time i bought a drum in detroit it was $100; gotta love the motor city.
  13. Ahhhhh, amazing how small the world is hah. What is your brothers name/what does he drive? I'd say you should still bring your shee out, I dont have a wheelie bar either  . I can guarantee a few hilarious launches for sure. Is there a certain part of the lake that the bhq people will be congregating at? And lastly where is a good spot to park at?
  14. Excellent, I'll definitely make it out to white lake on saturday then after i put a set of tires on my car in the morning. I need to rejet anyway for the winter with the new pipes. I'll be driving in a red jetta towing a red open trailer with my purple/gray/black shee. I should be fairly easy to spot haha. I'm down in lima for the university of northwestern ohio. I'm always in Michigan on the weekends though. After growing up as a gearhead in detroit, any other city sucks. Not a single one of the 5 bike shops around lima stocks keihin carb jets! Seriously now, wtf mate?
  15. So i take it there is racing this saturday at white lake? Any specific time?
  16. Ooooh, I think I just might have to make it out for this. After all, my banshee was originally an ice drag bike in the davisburg/holly area and hasn't been on ice since. I'll just have to dig up the set of studded tires the PO gave me with it. Keep us posted for dates. I'm sure i'll be horribly embarrassed but thats half the fun.
  17. I run a bald set of holeshots with snowmobile studs in them for winter use. They work great on the hardpack snowmobile trails and especially ice. However, they obviously aren't the best for deep snow but i stay on the snowmo trails anyway.
  18. This week I just switched from fmf gnarly's to pt high revs and couldn't possibly be happier. I've never ridden a small bore drag port motor that had such a wide powerband. With the single carb setup and the pt revs, it actually has more low end than the gnarly's did still with a drag top end pull. Where are you located in Ohio kodie? I'm in the lima area. Drop me a PM if you're some what nearby.
  19. I believe the company is called MRD if i'm not mistaken. I rode an ice drag bike with that setup on it and it was a whole different animal. I've been toying with the idea ever since....damn student pockets.
  20. I have a 34mm pj and run a 42 pilot, airs crew 2 turns out, 155 main, needle in third clip. The motor is drag ported, fmf gnarly pipes, milled stock head (140 psi compression), and clamp on k&n. I rode today in 40 degrees, no humidity. basically sea level elevation and the jetting was perfect. Although, I have a dial a jet set to the richest setting which explains the 155 main. I'd try dropping your pilot to around 42-45 and main to 170-175 and see how it likes that. If I remember right, without the dial a jet I was running a 165 or 170 main in the 90 degree summer, but that was over a year ago and I can't recall exactly. As far as one cylinder looking leaner than another, make sure there are no air leaks around the reed cage to cylinder and manifold to cage mating. Try spraying some carb cleaner or starting fluid around the joints once you get the engine running a little better and see if the revs pick up at all indicating a leak. I always put a light film of permatex ultra copper just to be safe. Good luck!
  21. 18mmx1.0 sounds about right if my memory serves me right. Your best bet it to check with local tool and die or machine shops. If they can't help, start calling some industrial tooling supply places such as Morse Cutting Tools on Stephenson highway in Michigan. I happen to live near them and have bought lots of odd taps and dies from them before. Good luck!
  22. I'm looking for a set of Paul turner high rev pipes to fit an a-arm frame banshee. I don't need silencers but will buy them if someone will not part with just the pipes. I don't care what type of finish they have; chrome is nice but any will do. Send me a PM if you have a set you're willing to sell. Thanks!
  23. I've run nothing but R50 or super techniplate at 40:1 and after 2 years of year round hard riding i've only lost 10 psi of compression on the same ring set. Thats proof enough for me. Of course the sweet smell is always a plus too  .
  24. I'll take some pics of mine tonite on my single carb. I love it, it's a major time saver especially at the drag strip.
  25. I run a 34mm PJ with a DEK in the 3rd clip, 40 pilot, 2 turns out on the air screw, and 155 main and it runs perfect. However, I also have a dial a jet setup so that throws all but the pilot out the window.
