  1. thanks for the tips i gotta work today but im gonna check it out after work
  2. ok so heres the story one day i went to start my bike and it wouldn't start so i started messing with it and it had low compression so i rebuilt it with new pistons and a new crank just to be safe(it was a used crank the rebuild before and i just wanted new) and i had the cylinders bored for the pistons. now i got it all back together and it still wont start. i did a leakdown test and it held 8psi for 7 mins didnt lose 1/2 a psi i compressin checked it and 120 on both sides it is getting good spark and it is getting gas. i tried going up and down in jets and no change i cleaned and inspected the carbs they are synced i have no tors and the box is gone i had the timing at +4 and i tried it at stock. the bike always ran. if i kick it like 40 times it will start and i have to hold it at 1/4 throttal to keep it running revving at like 3000 drop below that and it dies instantley but i can warm it up and clear it right out and it revs good but if i let the rev drop it dies instantley. and it seems like when ever i take the plugs out and put them back in and try to kick it it will sound like it wants to start on the first kick but after that it wont start for about 40 kicks i have been working on this for like a week and cant get it to run and im about to give up and prolly sell it like it is i tried everything i know and everything i read on here and still nothing so im hoping someone on here can point something out that i missed and yes i have the choke balance tube in my buddie asked me that 30 times already and its fresh gas
  3. yeah when i took my motor apart to rebuild it there was some gas down in the crank. how do i get the gas out of the motor? i have the pipes and carbs off i was thinking take the plugs out and tip it upside down would that work?
  4. i just rebuilt my engine and i cant get it to start it getting spark and gas and has good compression so i took my pipes and carbs off to do a leak test and there was gas in both the pipes that poured out. i did the test and noticed my boost bottle was leaking around the boots so i replaced it with the stock balance tube and tried it again and i didn't even lose half a pound in 7mins. so my question is how did the gas get in my pipes? was it from the airleak?
  5. i just got my bike together and now my kicker only hits half the time the other half it just slips but that dont bug me i was eventualy gonna fix it but i just wanted to see if it ran good but it dont. i will start for about 30 secs and then it dies no matter how high its revving it will die and its an instant die it doesnt fade away it just stops im assuming its the kicker gear vibrating out and hitting the clutch gear and killing it i just wanna hear someone else say it before i rip into it again
  6. i stripped one of the clutch spring bolts the otherday putting my motor back together and i figured i may as well buy an aftermarket clutch basket. i tried using the search function with no luck so my question is what would be the best aftermarket clutch basket? i noticed that i have to reuse the stock gear how hard is that to do? is there any other parts i need besides for the basket, inner hub and pressure plate? and what are the bennefits of an aftermarket basket?
  7. im gonna go out and put a crank and pistons in my motor does anyone have any last minute tips or common mistakes that people make? and the 7 seals that come with my crank are 2 crank seals, kickstart seal, shifter seal, clutch arm seal, sprocket seal and whats the wierd looking thick seal for?
  8. alright i put a set of 64mm wiseco pistons in my stock cylinders and they dont expand like the stock ones so they scratched my cylinders up a bit not much. now my question is if i buy 64.50 wisecos would they be big enuff to get a good bore? if i was putting stock pistons back in i could go with 64.25 because the scratches are only minor i cought it before it did any real damage. i just know .5 of a mm aint much just looking for opinions 64.50 or 64.75 i know i should have brought my cylinders to a machine shop to tell me before i bought my pistons but i had the money for the crank and pistons so i bought them and i still didn't pay for the pistons so i can change them but i wont have any more money for like 2 weeks and the guy on ebay wont wait 2 weeks for me to get my cylinders to a machine shop
  9. yeah i think its the coil i checked the ohms between the two sparkplug wires and nothing
  10. no its getting 16-19v at the end of the coil wire where the cap screws on. i already got new caps. i know it seems impossible??(to me anyways) but if i stick a screwdriver in the sparkplug cap and put the screwdriver by the head it will spark but if i put a sparkplug in there and put it on the same spot on the head(so i know its grounded) it will not spark. i tried the 2 plugs i had in my bike and i went out and bought 2 new ones but still no spark but i can still get spark with the screwdriver. i tried my spare wiring harness but still the same thing. i dont really know how th use the ohm meter but every thing was close to what it should be. i have given up and havn't looked at my bike for 2 days now and i want to burn it to the ground
  11. i got no spark with a sparkplug but when i stick a screwdriver in the boot and put it by the head i get spark? any one know whats wrong? i tried multiple sparkplugs and none worked i tested the wire coming off the coil and its getting around 16v-19v
  12. ok si i just put a set of vf2 reeds in my bike along with a twist throttle and took the tors off and now when i start my bike i have to give it gas to start it and when i try to let it go down to an idle it dies instantley. i cant even get it to idle high it just dies unless i have it revving at like 2500rpm it dies. i also put the sliders and needles out of another set of carbs too maybe the needle are on the wrong clip? how do i know where to put the needles?
  13. i need theese shipped to halifax, n.s. b3v 1b3 just tell me a price
