  1. I would think end-side shake and dragging rollers should be of more concern than rod length when it comes to the life of the lower bearing.
  2. You may need longer carb cap adjuster screws. I found a set of Mikuni cap screws that fit perfectly, and they appear to be exactly the same kind F.A.S.T. sells...
  3. Whole ass or asshole??? Just want to make sure I understand how you feel about them...
  4. I apply a thin layer of HondaBond on the crank seals as well, and I always use new seals. I also pack the inside with white lithium grease. I have never had any problems with my seals. My buddy does the same thing...
  5. Correct, Sir!
  6. I wouldn't limit yourself to cc parameters alone. There are many factors involved to make a good trail bike. In my mind, the most important thing to consider is installing complementing components (pipes, carbs, porting, reeds, timing, compression, etc.). You do not necessarily need a large cc engine to get good performance...
  7. Mikuni VM Carburetor Not exactly like a Banshee carb, but it is still very useful...
  8. Good point, that is why I avoid jokes, the joke is usually on me...
  9. I just made a whole chain out of master links, is that bad??? OK, that was my attempt at humor for the day...
  10. Run 'em...
  11. If you do not have a 32mm and decide to purchase one, get a 24mm as well for the crank nut...
  12. Yea, what did he get? Did he get an 85/86 R???
  13. What kind of transmission are you using? IMO, a 15-42 would be even better than a 14-42 with cub power. I do not think you will want 13 up front with a cub. A lot will depend on where you ride and what transmission set-up you are using...
  14. Try this: Trinity Head Carb cleaner should clean those domes up nicely...
  15. 32mm
  16. Just make it look like this: Note that one of the lobes is not modified...
  17. I suppose you could make one, but it is only a $10-15 part. It is just a cover plate...
  18. That is a VERY subjective question... There are many good choices on this site alone. Make some phone calls, do some searching on this site, and then go with the person/company you feel the most comfortable with. I can tell you from experience that HJR will do a good job, and you will not be disappointed with the customer service. I have parts from Jeff at F.A.S.T. and have not had any port work from him, but based on my experiences with his customer service, I would not hesitate to use him for porting as well. There are plenty of good people out there, just not a specific answer to your question...
  19. The crank seals have a rib around them that sit in a groove in the cases. You must split the cases to properly install the seals. The sprocket shaft seal, shift shaft seal, and clutch arm seals do not have a rib, and can be removed and replaced without splitting the cases. Just split the cases from the bottom so you do not have to remove the cylinders...
  20. Where is the bushing? Did it break as well?
  21. Bump for a nice bike and a witty seller...
  22. I would consider the right side crank seal might be failing. When it starts to fail, oil is sucked into the crank chamber and burned. Does it smell like it is burning gear oil? Usually the smell is noticeable... If you cannot find any other problems, you may want to do a leak down test and check the seal for leaks...
  23. I would have to agree, the few times I have ordered something from the dealerships, I have not waited more than 2-3 days as well...
  24. Maybe the gear genie left one for him. :ninja: I do agree, I don't think his bike is missing the kicker gear, I just think that is the gear in question. Who knows...
