  1. I think the Magnum basket is one of the best deals in the Banshee performance market. A whole lot of bang for the buck.
  2. For a standard basket, there are many other cheaper options that are equivalent in quality, but nobody else makes a basket that is equivalent to the spring-tension basket. I went from stock basket with stock gears to the spring-tension basket, so it was only a $75 difference in price ($600 for the springer versus $525 for a Magnum and gear set). Even though straight-cut gears are overkill for a 4mm cub, I am pleased with the Hinson unit and would buy it again it I had to do it over. If I had only wanted a billet basket at the time, I would have purchased a Magnum basket ($150) over a standard Hinson basket (~$269).
  3. According to Hinson, the bushing on the spring-tension basket was getting an updated design. It has been a few months since I talked to the folks at Hinson, so has anyone had a chance to use or see the basket with the new design?
  4. Everyone is a wise guy! Yeah, the project kinda went to the back burner a few days after I posted this. My fault, I should have updated the ad...
  5. Pick a kidney, it will be next...
  6. I really like Shearers for duning/hillshooting.
  7. I would discuss dependent and independent clauses with you, but that is most definitely above your 8th grade reading level. By the way, try not to eat your crayons next time.
  8. I am sure there is a gold toilet in the Middle East somewhere (well, maybe a gold "bomb site"), but I thought Trinity made stainless steel pipes?
  9. That is how some of the dunes are out here as well. $120 for an annual pass to Dumont, $90 without the "big holiday" surcharge, or $30 for a seven day (Holidays: New Years, ,MLK, President's, Hallowen, T-Day). $30 for the CA out of state sticker. I agree, I would hate to make the trip and then get the boot and/or a fine. It is worth it to just pay it and suck it up. I don't want to be one of the many that contribute to the closure of another riding area. They say ALL the money is put back into the riding areas/rangers/facilities. All I have to say about that is: :yelrotflmao: To be fair: Especially on the big weekends, if people do not do stupid stuff (like the stripper pole truck, drinking and riding, helmets, etc.), the rangers generally will leave people alone...
  10. Dumb question Death, but what do you mean by welded hanger?
  11. A 4mm with the right porting will be a very good engine. Porting your cylinders is a must to get the most out of the increased stroke.
  12. I always thought "poor man's pipes" were a set of chromed stockers with the end caps removed... I do not see any set of CPIs as "poor man's pipes."
  13. What needle did you have in the 35PWKs and what needle do you have in the Airstrikers? I am curious to see if they use different needles... I have a 38PWK airstriker on my dune ported ATC-R, and I had to try a couple needles to find the one that worked well...
  14. I was referring to the fact that it makes more sense to perform maintenance on a clean vehicle rather than a dirty one, but you have your way and I have mine. It is all good...
  15. My buddy installed an '01ish swinger on his '88, and it was not the same. The bushings that are welded to the upper carrier mounts on the '88 are on the outside, where the bushings on the '01 are on the inside... You are going to need a newer carrier (at least one that matches the newer style arm). I will be curious to know if I am loosing my mind or not, but that is what I remember...
  16. Maybe he can get a bailout... :ermm:
  17. They are a mid-top pipe, just not a drag pipe... You will have little trouble selling the T5s if you want to upgrade...
  18. Have you considered porting your cylinders?
  19. Split the cases from the bottom, and you will not need to remove the cylinders. I would just fix it the right way if it were me. As J-Madd said before, the welding might work...
  20. Cool, thanks.
  21. I really like the Ohtsu MR501 radials...
  22. Are they equivalent to Extremes or Haulers?
  23. You two think they are any good?
  24. August 8th, right?
  25. I am certain a 4mm cub is not exactly a "big" motor, but... I run a TZ on the PTO and standard bearings for the rest. Typical F.A.S.T. 4mm T&W crank. I needed a billet basket, and decided to go with the spring-tension basket with straight-cut gears (debated for a while, but decided to just fork the coin and get the gear/basket assembly). Maybe the straight-cuts are overkill, but what the hell... After looking at the design of the TZ, it appears to be a nonlocating bearing, so for a 4mm cub, it was probably not necessary. The basket/gear assembly is very nice and I will not have to worry about blowing out cushions... Common set-up, so it may not be very helpful to you.
