  1. I love my little 4 mil. Night and day for trails over my ported stock jugg set up. I'm never going back to stoke stroke. Power under the pipe is amazing. Plus it's so smooth of a delivery.
  2. And to all the "i beat this bike" comments, not even opponent/fellow banshee rider can drive their bike to their full potential. I know i had a VERY hard timing learning how to drag race my bike. Driver skill is huge.
  3. t6 pipes are fine. Even with a port job they are fine. Just because they are recommended for a stock port, doesnt mean it will run bad with a port job. Are there better pipes out there for drag racing? Yes. I personally would keep the t6 pipes. Mine ran like a champ. And his stock clutch and springs wont hold for long if at all. Then he will be fitting traction and/or his front end coming up. When you step up to high hp drag racing, a set up that works gets expensive.
  4. cheap atf type F from walmart. Works and it's cheap. Never switching.
  5. I can down shift whenever i want(with the clutch pulled in of course). I have a dunable override. I just cant back load the trans when the RPMs are high. Only non-dunable overrides require the bike to be stopped completely BEFORE you can shift down. I actually shouldnt be blimping the throttle on my wheelie attempts. But oh well, it's fun and still shifts perfect like the day i installed it. IMO the only reason to go to a non dunable is to keep 1-6th. Mostly asphalt guys use all 6 gears. Mine is a neutral down 1-5. IMO that's the best thing to get unless you need 6th. I agree there are methods to shift better. Nothing is more fun than an override though. Let me stress, it is not for every one. And you dont miss something you never had. To answer a few of your questions. The only reason to have an override is to be more consistent and quicker. You do not need this just drag racing or drag racing for fun with friends. The reason not to back load is it put wear and can damage the shift forks. The dunables are forgiving. The non dunables will eat them for breakfast. Take a look at your personal riding style and think if you NEED this. The answer will probably be no. Now the question is, do you want it
  6. Only reason i used the vito's stealth slingshot style lockout is price. It was cheaper than the direct drive and cover. Overrides let you shift under load. While you are on the throttle you can upshift without letting off the throttle and/or using the clutch. It's quicker in a drag race and you NEVER miss a shift. Depending on the type, you MUST hold in the clutch above a certain rpm to avoid back loading the trans. Another word for backload is engine braking. The ones that can be back loaded below a certain RPM are called dunable overrides. Others require the bike to be stopped before even thinking about down shifting. If you fail to do it, you can damage the shift forks. Go to 5:30 in my vid and you can listen to the engine. It shifts instantly. Doesnt rev like a power shift would. Just bangs gears kinda like a built automatic in a car/truck. And of course from a video, you have no idea i have a lockout. But that's common sense. Some think overrides are just for drag only. I disagree. It's my favorite mod on my bike to date. And my bike is just a playbike. Jack of all trades, master of none.
  7. Float level set incorrect and it keeps leaking fuel? Regardless of carb size, an engine will only take in a certain amount of fuel/air.
  8. That's what i use. and an impact gun.
  9. Thanks but that's too far to drive just to watch man. I recently just started going to Sand Hill in MS. Fun place for a play bike like mine.
  10. It's cool man. Thanks for posting it! And props for doing it yourself. I'm sure it was a lot of headaches but feeling the mofo pull from the tree till the finish line must be worth it!
  11. I disagree with the above post. That's more of an opinion. I went ride some Dunes for the first time saturday. Transmission was a blessing. It would be been nice to have a stock trans to coast down hill via engine braking but that wasnt a problem at all. My duneable override was smooth, problem free and a beast on the 300' track. Now i truely see why they call it duneable If you dont like your override, you can make most of your money back if it's bought from a good company IMO. It seems people are always wanting one.
  12. What about kerosene? I've soaked my old rusty chain and brought it back to life. It has oil in it and wont dry parts out like gas will. Any thoughts on that?
  13. Please post more videos. I have been looking for turbo banshee videos forever. Any turbo banshee vids, doesnt even have to be your bike
  14. Of course it's easy to do if you have access to a CNC mill or similar machines. Then of course the know how to do it correctly. I wish i knew how to cut them, because i am a machinist and i have a couple friends who run/program CNC Mills. It's only about $325ish with core. Well worth the money. I still recommend it on an all around play bike. It's just so fun and addicting just playing in the fields with it. Keep in mind you dont use any modded shift star nor any shift pro shift kit. Plus if your bike has bad traction issues, the bike might not shift well with an override. I found this all out the hard way even though i was warned many times before.
  15. ATF type F here. Works fine and cheap. I refuse to use anything else that works and is ALSO recommended by my override maker unless it's cheaper.
  16. Mine came from a buddy of dajogejr. I beat the hell out of it. Works fine. Only time i really back load is when i let off doing a wheelie. Otherwise i treat it well. Perhaps thats why it still works like the day i installed it. I even let the gf and my friends ride my bike. Thanks again dave!
  17. It's got spray? Winner winner chicken dinner!
  18. Agreed. If you look at previous post and threads on porting, you will see what i mean. I know mines not the best, but i like his work.
  19. There's a lot of good builders. It depends who's nuts our fellow members swing from. Good luck with your choice and IMO peak numbers < power delivery. I rather make 65hp on broad powerband like "play port" vs an 85hp drag port.
  20. Factory carbs arent that bad to work on. I and all the locals never had a problem. I used to overrev the hell out of my bike. Usually missing a shift. Never hurt a thing. I used to also keep my bike held WOT for a long time. Worked fine till the day she blew.
  21. LS engines have MASSIVE potential.
  22. plastic bags here.
  23. My t6 pipes were great all around pipes. Some pro circuits would fit good too. If you decide to port it later on, those pipes will be great. and less smart ass comments and more helping.
  24. Why not just use an undercover slingshot. I use Vito's version. Works like a champ. Takes like 5 min to modify it once it's over. Basiclly you just grind/file down the three little nipples behind where the clutch cover insert screws screw into. Then you put some lock tight. Done.
