Every time you buy an American made banshee product, you symbolically adopt a Bald Eagle. You dont hate Merica do you?

install brakelight on a 2001 banshee
RagunCajun replied to 4wheeler dude's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Regulators are required with the dc conversion? I threw mine away -
Did you take it off and look through it? I had a tiny piece of trash in there once on my yz250's pilot jet. I was only able to get it to idle with the choke since it bypasses the pilot somewhat. I stuck a needle or small paper clip to clean the blockage out. Before i swapped out all sorts of electrics etc and all it was was a free fix.

And they love you long time

install brakelight on a 2001 banshee

2001 here. I had kompulsive concepts make a harness that added the front brake master switch plug. I have a yfz450 front brake master so I had him match the plugs up. I forgot about having him do a rear switch. You can do a banjo switch for the rear or buy an oem switch. I'm not sure which I'll be doing yet. I already bought a cheap ebay banjo switch year ago. -
I did have to alter holes as well. Very simple to do. And for a $55 radiator compared to american made ones, i can not complain.
-
I've seen one person i think from cali that over heated probably due to left over trash in the radiator. But all the other folks with them have zero issues. And there are A LOT with them.

Scimitar cylinders. 144mm connecting rods?

Scimitar cylinders. 144mm connecting rods?
RagunCajun replied to 89Screaminshee's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I went ahead and searched for youtube videos of scimitar banshees. Only a couple of turbo ones showed up. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. The videos looked like it was a triple. This will be a twin i assume. That's $15,870 for the lazy people who dont want to add that up. So we are looking at probably over a $20,000 easily just for the engine. Then there's carbs and pipes. Lets not forget the chassis. Id assume this will be on alky? Regardless, what kind of power is expecting without a power adder? I'm looking forward to seeing this done on a stock frame. -

Which is where? Saying where will help future searching members. -
That looks fun but id be afraid to crash and end up upside down. I dont think i can brake the windows to get out under water by hitting them with my purse. I dont want to die drowning.
-
If i made mine run on one cylinder, it would still be over 250cc.
-
That is awesome. Got any video?

Perhaps a typo, they meant blaster.

Or you can build a 4mil serval and know what's in it for close to the same cost.

I havent really checked or paid much attention to fuel consumption. When a buddy and i went ride else where, i burned over a half tank in less than 30 min of riding. Keep in mind it was tight trails so i was under the power band most of the time. It drinks gas. His gas level on his honda 450 quad didnt even move and he road that thing hard. I dont ride much and im always putting gas in the thing. I must of went through 4-5 bottles of fuel fragrance and a bunch of quarts of supertechiplate in a years time. I only have 14 hours on the engine. Thanks, i cant wait to finish it cosmetically. It was dynoed off and on when Cam ported it a little, dynoed and did it again until we were happy. It was built without a HP goal in mind, just for fun power delivery. It's on redline's webite: http://redlineracing.biz/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/cajun.jpg That's griff's 10mil serval and my 10 SS on the same graph. As im get used to the bike, im more and more glad i didnt do a 4mil serval like i wanted when i called Redline originally.

Banshee 2007 YFZ450 shock fittment
RagunCajun replied to RoccothebeastQC's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
You should not cut springs. You should not run oem shocks with yfz450 arms. You should use arms made for banshee geometry. I ran yfz450 arms/shocks on my banshee years ago. It was awful. -
I run a stock cover with a slingshot. I have so for probably 6-7 years. It is a royal PITA to mess with the balls with a stock cover! Great idea. I did not know someone made a cover that the top plate would fit through. Thanks spurdy!!

If someone would like to add more detail to that, ill gladly add what's usually seen in bigger than 72 bore in stock cases. What people do and how common is failure. And what commonly fails. I would assume if you do such a cylinder(s) with that big of a bore, you would go to a builder who knows what to do and not to do. But this thread is for entertainment purposes so all info is welcome. I will try to keep first 1st post as proven facts. I just learned today the 72mm cylinders can come in big or small flange. That's exhaust but i think it's worthy of noting. I just dont know enough about that subject. If anyone has anything to add, please dont be afraid to post.

When i needed a chain for my redline ported engine, i gave redline a call. He sells really good quality strong chain. Mine was a little long but it's no problem cutting it. He even sent me extra master link which has helped once already.
-
That's a clean job. When i cut my old Knarleys back in the day, it was hell and came out like complete crap.
-
Mine can tractor up a levee crawling in 2nd gear. It does not and will never have the power delivery like a four stroke. If i rode tighter stuff, a simple bolt on engine with full suspension would be my first choice instead of the typical mod the engine first and suspension later.
-
IMO yes. I've got a 100+ hp banshee with lots of "low end" It still doesnt feel like a 450 off idle. i've ridden other banshees with various mods. Same thing.
-
Assuming your cable's are fine and not in a bind, you can try a honda thumb throttle or a billet thumb throttle extension, I'm not sure if the TORs can cause stiffness issues. Mine came off right when i bought the bike. As for the bottom end, welcome to a banshee.
