4 mill crank question ! HELPPP
2strokespirit replied to 907banshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
You can, but then you will only have a long rod crank and not a stroker, because the pin location is still the same. -
My exhaust port diameter is 38 on my 4mil, so thats why the flange is 38 as well...

^^^^ What he said. I also do not like the 2 into 1. To me a twin needs 2 carbs, its not worth the money for the little power gain on the bottom to mid...

In the past some guys asked me how did I hooked the exhausts on to the RZ, this is real easy, but to the guys that need the info here they are... I took the old flange from the RZ exhaust, or you can let someone laser cut it for you. I just made a adapter on a lathe which is the outside diameter of the banshee male exhaust connection which is fixed to the cylinder, the diameter is 45mm, my inside diameter is 38mm which is good for a ported 4mm. I guess the picture will give all an idea. You don't need to make it my way, but here is the pics..

I love maxxis SUR Tracks much more than the heavy bear claws. They are not light but they are aggressive, they only come in 22". I live in SA, some of the highest dunes is not to far in the Namib Desert (search online). Some of the guys there climb these dunes at 50 degrees C when the sand is so hot and you climb that dune by feet, your feet just disappear in the sand, you just cannot, they make bets against each other to climb those when the sand is so hot, no paddles allowed, what bike wins? Banshees, Now the part that you guys here will not really like is that these dunes are double the size than those hills, you cannot see people on the ground, they look like tiny pencil dots. The thing you want here is wheel spin, we climb them with Razrs, not razor 2.. because paddles is not fun... So I do not have a clue how these coal hills of you guys feels or how soft they are compare to the sand We have coal hills here also but hot sand is just as bad, but for sure we can climb hills of very steep angles with normal tires which is still good, off cause its not the ideal... I don't tell you guys by any means that I will climb your hills with normal tires, but I'd find it hard to believe... Listen to this... A good maxxis razr can move enough sand to power you out of most situations, a maxxi on a HIGH hp motor will be able to move more sand than a bear claw on a less higher hp motor???!!!!!!! when the low hp motor cannot pull the bear claws as good as say maybe a 10mill cub, the 10mill cub will turn those maxxis and move much more sand, because you will be able to go to much higher gears with more power up that hill, its just logical sense.. I don't know Loco and his no friend of mine, just talking out of my own experience.

Banshee piston ring expander
2strokespirit replied to XXXAdrenalineSports's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
This is not like the spacer between the 2 oil rings, this sits under the 2nd ring. You can remove it if you want... Some manufacturers still use them, some don't anymore. -
a Local guy here did it, his looks neat and won't break. He It cost him about $20 max!!

Porting for a 4mil and domes
2strokespirit replied to tundish2800's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
If you're running it without the spacer plate and cut domes, its a waste of money to run a stroker crank, thats my opinion. If you run it with cut domes, without the plate it need to get reported, port timings will be off. All the ports needs to get lowered by 2mm and the amount you raise the port roofs it will depend what type of port job you want.. -
If the piston broke, you will have to split the cases, even the tiniest piece of piston or ring junk can destroy the bearings and rings... Is this a wiseco piston??? Don't they have a limited warrenty?
-
Is either the tors or the park brake switch...

Why does my shee keep burning up?
2strokespirit replied to Dgrey's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
First thing is check for a air leak, the first time it seized, did both pistons seized or just one and if just one how does the piston looks on the top, what color, the one that did not seized? You said you haven't touched the timing, maybe the bike had a timing plate on before and someone else adjusted it? If all off that is good and its not the fuel, I am willing to bet your CDI is bad, "stuck" in advance, I had it, man I went threw 3 sets of pistons 5 years ago... I could pull out all my hair I did not check the timing with a timing light, I just went on bigger with the mains, when it look good, just a few hard runs.... bah....!!!! Check your ignition timing with a timing light if you can't find the problem, look for signs of detonation, it does not sound like a lean condition, more like detonation... -
Very sensitive subject, the BOOST BOTTLE.... Its boost *** into some peoples brains.. They are junk.

need to get rid of twist throttle
2strokespirit replied to T_Shee's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Yes you can run it with a thumb throttle. you can get the cable from most after market dealers that sell these pwk carbs... -
I've been in enduro/cross country racing for a long time now racing my banshee, These 350 twin yamies are one of the most reliable 2 strokes out there, even with the abuse it just keeps on going, as long as you have a good air filter which keep sand out and your jetting is good with good oil you have a hell of a combination..
-
mmm... I'll think I'll stay out of this one...
-
If I remember correct, but ain't you the guy who wanted to sell or trade your bike a few months ago also?? Anyways, I'll keep my banshee and will buy a 450 later on, GOT to have both man...
-
My opinion all and all the best 450 package on the market!!! Great bike and reliable.... Wait 'till you have to do a total rebuild $$$$.... so are all the 450!! My friend has one and its fast..

More than 1/2 way on the checkerd of the dipstick isn't to many, its normal. If you have 1500ml or 1500cc of oil in your tranny, and you check the level by turning the dipstick out while the motor is cold, wiping it with a cloth, turn it back in and out and it is on the top part of the checkerd you have the max amount in which is 1500ml, it should not breath out any oil at the breather with that amount, of cause a few drops are normal. Reroute the breather so that the hose goes down under the engine. Is this motor in a stock banshee frame? Did he maybe had a accident, while the bike overturned??

What is my RZ250 engine worth to Banshee guys?
2strokespirit replied to superjet's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Do a search on RZs here and you will find out yourself. Just make sure, there is nothing wrong with the motor and you get all the electronics with the swap. Make sure there is not a catch somewhere, but man, it might be worth it.. -
another thread to be pissed at...
2strokespirit replied to tithead's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Hey man sorry to hear.... keep us updated.. Good luck! -
Stock are way good enough for bolt ons, you can run FZR1000 plates, or 750(not sure which one) in your clutch, heard they take serious hp. The tusk clutches with the heavy duty springs is also a good replacement for a good price..
