  3. If you run anywhere higher than 150psi (155 max) you should run a higher octane than 93 pump gas, to be SAFE. Doesn't matter if you are at 800 or 1000 or sea level, 150 is 150, at sea level or 1000 above. The dome sizes will raise the compression, say a 21cc will be at about 155 at sea level, in your case I would not go lower than 20cc and then I will still watch out for signs of detonation, think you will be on the edge with 20cc and 93 pump gas. The 21cc will probably be your safest bet. In some cases guys gets away with 160 psi with 93 pump gas. To be SAFE I would run 100 octane + anything higher than 155 - 160.
  4. I am a member on a lot of forums, but thats one thing about Bansheehq, there is always a member that has to say something negative to others and they do talk about it on the other websites and to me thats sad, especially if I say I am a member on here... Why don't those guys just keep it to them self....? Damn we all want to benefit from the info on here... As for the video and the attitude of the guy who made the video  I know of builders who once WAS members on here..... what a sad thing... So some will ask what the heck am I still doing here, well this is still a place to find good info and to kill time, oh yeah and to get a "how to video" for just $20 donation... I don't need this video Tate, but I am sure there is a lot of guys who will benefit from it... good luck man.
  5. Sounds like electrical issue. I don't trust that stator...
  6. There is no way that key will brake, if the flywheel is installed correctly.. Even a stocker can brake if you don't fit it correct or tension the bolt hard enough... The does not keep the flywheel from spinning, its just to mount or line it up in the right position.. I used them in the past for a quick advance on bike that can't be adjustable. But yes I prefer the plate. Enjoy it man, it won't brake..
  7. I like vintage off road bikes. I had a PE175, 250, 400. I loved them. Wouldn't mind to get another PE250 for restoration..
  8. It keeps the lower chain 'in line' under full power. The top part are under tension while on the throttle, then the lower part is running 'freely' or is slacken. The rear guide, like said guides the chain on the sprocket. You can run without it, but it does have its purpose and maybe insures that the chain won't come off, even if there is almost no change of coming off without it..
  9. Thats bad news man, I know how I would feel if I have to sell my bike. Hope everything works out for you.
  10. Looks good... Maybe I should crime mine to..
  11. Ahh thats why I am so confused, we work in meters, not ft over here... makes a lot more sense now... Thanks guys..
  12. .... I would really keep it... start looking for RZ350 cylinders later. You are not easily going to get another RZ motor easily and the electronics are pricey.. Especially if you plan to get a banshee.
  13. Yes, if you check out the Noss site you will see they actually say 156. The thing is I do not want to run anything higher than 93, it is to much of a hassle to get the higher octane fuels here...
  14. I cannot give you a price in dollar because I am from South Africa, but its for sure worth something. The 350 cylinders do fit on the 250, that is a real good gearbox as well, it is exactly the same as the RZ350 even the gear ratios is the same in fact the crank and all is the same, I know the RZ well, if you can get a set of 350 cylinders, you have a RZ350. The banshee cylinders will fit also. Don't sell it for nothing..
  15. HI there I am about 1000m (3280ft) above sea level. Running 20cc domes I am right at 154 compression. Will it be safe to run 4 degrees timing advance without detonating? I figured I should maybe go down to 21cc domes if I advance the timing? I am running 93 octane gas. I never had any problems with detonation with the 20cc domes ever, just worried if I advance the timing to 4 degrees it might start detonating especially on longer straights when going WOT while its pulling hard in the last few gears.. Thanks

  17. You can go with a Zeeltronic cdi, but I think you know that? I would do it the same way as you just said... advance it to about 6000rpm and then retard it to standard..
  18. Clicking sounds, sounds like piston to cylinder wall clearance are to big. Maybe needs a top end rebuild. Could be anything though...
  19. Water pump impeller seal, or even the o'ring that seals the clutch cover water passage... You will see what I am trying to say if you take off the clutch cover... Any yamaha dealer should be able to help you, throw a billet impeller in their... Billet impeller you can get on e-bay..
  20. The tiniest air leak can cause major jetting issues, if there is a air leak for real, after sealing it, you will have to go over the jetting again, you will not be able to jet it correct with the air leak, in fact the jetting will have no big influence between jet sizes if there is a air leak. One thing that caught my suspicion is reeds.. But it can be anything weird right now. Good luck!!
  21. Its the swing arm axle bearing carrier. It does not look broken, looks like the bearings are worn and for that reason the sprocket hub ran against it. If you are lucky you will get away with only rear axle bearings and seals..
  22. Yes that is for sure Jim's 12 port, I heard they hauls ass.. Me going with Passion also, he is a great guy and helps me out all the time and answers all my questions.
  23. Are you talking about the billet bracket that goes into the air box? This one I am sure thats a replacement K&N for stock air box for the banshee
  24. The problem with the stock banshee chassis is that the front frame construction is not up to date to handle a long travel setup without bump steer, most of the guys on here goes with standard travel +2 +1. there are a few guys that have long travel setups. I have +2 +1 a-arms on Elka compression and rebound adjustable shocks, if setup correct, it will soak up all the major jump with ease. Long travel is the way to go though, I just don't like the bump steer at all.. Hopefully some other guys will chime in here and leave their opinion..
  25. I knew about it, just could not find it... I heard its a very good book.
