  1. RZ 500. I know the shee is the rz 350 with out the PV. But does any one know if a rz 500 engine will bolt into a banshee frame? has it ever been done? Think there would potential nasty beast there if built.
  2. I will have to check out the stators, Make sure they actually work. as far as the cases. Ill probly sell one. guess this is not the right part of the forum for selling stuff. Ill clean one up see how they actually look. The one looks ok doesn't look scared or busted up or any thing just dirty. the other still has the crank and guts. not sure how it looks yet.
  3. Bought a grab box of banshee stuff today for 180.00> Not sure how good a deal it is. Ive got no idea what some of this stuff is. I picked up two bottom ends. Mainly there good cases. Got a couple of gear sets both look good. Think there is a complete air shifter kit but have no idea what its worth. Got a mds ignition FTZ. Couple of stock carbs.... Needed them. Set of racing handlebars. and a bunch of odds and ins. There are three sets of stators. A few aftermarket coils. Wouldn't have a clue on how there suppose to work. More looks like a box of crap than any thing. There are a few things I think are worth while but for a hole I am not sure.
  4. Well Took her for a run today.. She seems to run pretty good. These pipes are weird. Kind of touchy. If you hold the throttle right at the point of the pipes starting to pull Man will she scavenge every bit and just pull like crazy. Just don't try and crack it to hard. She doesn't seem to pull as good. I am going to have to get caps and throttle a just screws. Idle is to high for my taste. The only thing I am a little concerned about is she seems to boil some. n not puking yet. Only seems to do it when I shut it off. I still have a head bolt leaking some. but don't think she's leaking internally. Shes not smoking or any thing other than the normal. She starts really easy. Gonna check fluids tomorrow.
  5. Sorry about the crappy topic line. Not sure what to put for this. Kinda worried that I have something wrong with how I put this banshee back together. Not sure if I have it jetted to lean or if my water pump has sheered. Seams like it might be running to hot..... Im not for sure on this or not. It seems to run too good..... I am not bragging on this one. I can not see how the heck this thing can run as good as it is. at least not with these stock carbs and reeds. It starts to easy. The rpms seems to be a little high at idle. ive not really run it to hard and not rode it more than a mile yet. I am worried about over heating this thing. This is what I know for sure. T5 Pipe, 50 over bore, port pistons. Stock Crank..... I think..... Not sure on that one know its Aftermarket but no idea if its stroker or not.... at least when I put it back together Its not put together that way..... Stock head, stock carbs. I think they may be messed up. They are jetted. yeah not sure what right now. Its got some sort of aftermarket needles in it. It has the stupid TORs tops but the freaken wires that useally go to them are cut... I don't see an idle adjust screw installed. So I am thinking this is why the thing idles so darn high. This is not my first banshee, I built the last one It ran pretty good but nothing like this one. I may not be use to these pipes yet. Ran FMF on the last one. with single carb. It seemed to run better at the bottom. It seems like Ive got to hold it in the Pipe a lot more on this setup.
  6. Looks like you have around 4500 in after markets at a glance. Not to mention paint. What is sad is a lot of theses old beast are setup. Usually around a grand or so just to build what should have ben built in the first place....... Darn tree huggers any ways don't want the beast to be off the leash. Any ways. Ill stay on topic. I am willing to bet you have around have at least a g more invested than going rate for resale. It is sad the market really doesn't reflect. Good thing the aftermarket is still strong. Hopefully these old beast will last and there actual value will actually increase to what people actually put into these things. Sorry for the run on sentence.
  7. Ended up getting mine a about 1200. Basket case. Didn't take much to get her going again. But pick one up about 4 years ago. a little better running condition for about the same price. What I have been noticing is that for the most part, ones that should be selling for around 2000 are going for about 3500. Just wondering if its the inflation from all the newer 450's going for so high. Atvs have sky rocketed over the last decade. You can buy a decent car for the price most are selling at any more.
  8. What is the value of your banshee..... Would like to see what the trend is across the net. I have been watching the prices for the last few years. It seams to be on the rise some what. I am starting to find the shee's going up in price. Was just wondering if this is the trend across the states. Are you all starting to see banshees that a few years ago would go for around a grand for a basket case now selling for fifteen to eighteen? This seems to be the trend around here.
  9. Will post some pics when I get her put all the way back together.. Shes an ugly beast....
  10. Not sure shes big. Just saying she actually runs. Much better than broke.
  11. Thanks, I did take her down the road today about a half a mile. Man is this thing nasty. She is way different than the one on my pics here. I really didn't do much for tuning on this thing it was spot on. I am a little nervous about really rotting into her. Just babing her down the road today she was snotty. a little unpredictable. Seems shes going to be fun while she last.
  12. Hey guys need your help. I bought this banshee the other day. As you can tell by the above post it was a rat. Ive got some concerns here on how I just put it back together. I bought it with three head bolts striped. I am concerned this thing actually does have a stroker crank in it. But truth is I have no idea if it is or not. If it is it is the 110 rod crank. What I know is that it has the vitos 110 rod crank with their port cut pistons. When I bought it there was no stroker plate under the cylinders. I was told the guy who was running it was using the stock head I just put back on it. I also received a cool head with no domes. When the head was off I ran the Pistons to TDC. I really don't have a good gauge to measure the clearance, but to run a finger across the top of the jug to the piston I think there was some over clearance not much but noticeable. If I am thinking right this would be a stroker crank. I am hoping not at this point, I really don't understand how the heck this thing even started if it is. I can almost guarantee that the stock head was not milled. Maybe I am off here but if this thing is a stroker, With a stock head and no stroker plate. Can it actually turn over? The crown of the piston would actually contact the head before TDC and not finish the revolution? I am dreading this. I just got the darn head to seal. The head its self is a pain in the ass to get on and off due to the assed up head bolts. It all fits together but Ive got one bolt threaded badly so its a M---Fer to fit. I think I can measure the squish with sodier but am not sure what the measurement should be. I know this top end isn't going to last long as bad as the pistons looked. but would like to run her. Not real sure what to do here. Not to concerned about this crap setup on it now. but am concerned about the rebuild. Don't know weather to build it as a stroker when I redo the jugs and pistons. She seams like a perfect candidate To go big bore. Shes at .50 now anyways, and these jugs are F--ed . Your thoughts would be appreciated.
  13. Got the old shee going again. Sure this fix wont last long, but it worked. 1000 grit sand paper works wonders. Bought a shee with sticking rings. she had a warped head and leaked like a sieve. Tore her down, fixed some head bolt threads the guy who had her had striped out. Man does she have some scaring on the piston. I managed to get the rings un stuck and off the piston with out breaking them. used a little 1000 grit sand paper on them so they fit with out sticking. and blocked the head and jugs. Had to do this to level them out and fix some scaring on the head and jug. Got her back together tonight. Believe it or not after burning some after run oil I soaked the crank in while shes been siting. she actually fired up. I am running 108 PSI from both cylinders. I don't think this fix will last to long. But hopefully a little while. well see how it goes.
  14. Well got her tore down. had to re thread some holes on the head. She does have the 4 mil crank in her........ Hopefully this dang head wont leak. had 4 holes striped when I got it. Think its going to need rings maybe. still checking things out. I guess they built this thing to look like a sleeper. Its 1.50 pistons.. been to long not sure what the heck this is bored to. The cylinders look ok. Just needed a honing. Pretty sure they had this cool head on it. Ive got it but no domes. got stock head on it now. but still need to check squish. It has the cut away pistons in it. all bearings are smooth no slop. Just needs a good cleaning out now. hope to have it together tomorrow.
  15. Well fellows I am back. It has been a while. Finally got a newer Banshee. It is rough but glad to get back to the banshee. Ive got some work to do to her before any riding. Shes got some head gasket leaks. hoping to be able to smooth of the rough. I am a little leery of this one. not actually sure how its built. Told it had a 4 mil in it...... Don't think so my self. it defiantly doesn't have the plate. it does have cut pistons in it. Any ways glad to get another one it has been a long while. Sold the last one. after a bad crash. Bent frame. couldn't walk for a long time with out some help. Back on the horse again.
