  1. Ive got a great photo from this year for anti-hunters. I hunt in the UP of michigan. Up there the winters are super bad and basically small dear dont make it through the winter. Anyways we take small does since they will not make it through the winter. So heres how it happened. I was stalking(walking like fred bear) and I came across 4 doe in a small field that was recently logged. So Im not a fan of tracking so I decided id get a little cocky and take her out by a shot to the head. So I put my rifle(remington .300 ultra mag) on the stick tripod I have and take the shot. Bam hit the doe right between the eyes, while it is bedded down. I walk up to it and I tell you this, I will NEVER shoot a deer in the head again. It split the deers skull in half and you got a good look of whats inside. Not my kind of end to a good shot. Anyways sorry for the long story but, I took a picture of it and ill post it up when I get the photos back from being developed. I also took a 8 pointer. Anti-hunters have some balls going out and protesting our right to hunt when they have picket signs and we have high power rifles.... Oops I thought your picket sign was antlers.
  2. I know my bike isnt worth what I think its worth, so im asking you guys what I actually could get for it. here it goes. I have every reciept for every nut, bolt and part bought for this bike. Its alot to type but im thinking what I "think" its worth is not close to what it actually is worth. Unless I find a kid like me when I was 12 and daddy was buying me the best christmas gift ever and I just pointed and picked the coolest looking used shee I could find. Come to find out it was a total wreck over years of wrenching its finally in tip top shape. Its SUPER clean. Just need a reality check. thanks. Be as harsh as you wish.
  3. My bike doesnt overheat at all. I was just thinking of some ideas and quick cheap mods to do when im bored. I figured if i installed fans then when im waiting for the bike to cool down the time waiting would be less, because I hate sitting waiting. Plus they would come in handy for the days I feel like putting around the yard just screwin around where I cant get out of 2nd. Just an idea. Also has anyone ever tried a ram air set-up like on cars. I dont know if it would be any benefit, but again just an idea and something to mess around with.
  4. I was wondering if anyone has installed a radiator fan on there shee or a sensor that shuts the motor down if it hits a certain temp. I havent thought too in depth about it such as clearance around the radiator for a fan and how you could rig up a shut off sensor for the motor but its an idea. I just think it would be cool to try and a little project for the boring sundays. What you guys think? Am I retarted?
  5. Im not sure on the mixture, but im pretty sure an oil made by klotz is the only oil you can mix with alcohol, well that ive seen. Im not sure on the name of the oil is. Im sure its on klotz website.
  6. First thing i would do is check your grounds. Take the coil off and sand off the paint on the frame where it bolts on and clean those connections if they are dirty. Also check the ground on the wiring harness. I had the same problem about a month ago, changed my coil, flywheel, wiring harness and still nothing.... finally changed my stator which tested good and bam o, fired the first kick.
  7. Loboboy, why are you so angry. A guy just asked opinions and different people have different opinons. While im sure he will take your opinion into consideration, but theres no reason to be a dick to people about it. Noone said you know nothing and im sure you know a good deal of stuff, but all he said was 90% of people that talk shit about the pistons havent ran them. Which in your case you havent so he was right on that one.
  8. O if its just a few tea spoons its fine. Mine spits just as much and is modded a little. Another little thing you could do just for cheap insurance is adding a temp gauge. It costs like maybe 20 bucks tops. Wal-marts has a gauge for 7 bucks and then you just need a t-fitting. Takes about 20 minutes to install. You could do it when you put the new impeller in since your draining your coolant anyways. Thats awesome that you have a track by your house though. Theres nowhere to ride around by me. Mt. Clemens area.
  9. For the winter 50/50 and water wetter is a good choice. Im pretty sure engine ice doesnt offer any freeze protection, but im not positive. If you run distilled water and water weter in the winter it will freeze so dont do that till summer. Your bike shouldnt overheat without water weter though.
  10. Im going to have to agree with Tim C, but like said before by FAST1 he ran them and had problems. I suppose its all about application. If you are building a monster then I suppose they may not be for you. I have very little work done to my bike compared to alot of people on here, but Im 20 and dont have the money to drop thousands of dollars into a toy. So the vitos pistons was a good bang for my buck. I guess if you really want to know what to do and what would be good for you then just ask your mechanic since you seem to really trust him. Plus if you really trust him he must be a stand up guy and would stand behind what he says, so if something goes wrong premature then he will probably help you out with fixing the problem.
  11. The best thing to get rust off would be fine steel wool and just go to town. Also if you want to, you can take your pipes off and take a buffing wheel and mothers polish to the pipes. Makes them like new. Then put a coat of wax on them, makes its easy to clean them again. I put a coat of wax on everything, plastics, pipes, head, sidecases. just about everything. Really makes cleaning the pig alot easier.
  12. You can get a crank from vitos for 350 bucks. Its definatly the cheapest BRAND NEW crank ive found. www.vitosperformance.com Also I have my old crank out of a 95. The threads are messed up where the flywheel bolts on, but i should hear back from the shop sometime this week. So if its repairable and its all still trued you can have it. just pay for shipping. Also you can probably get your jugs off ebay for a nice cheap price. Or if there is a four wheeler junk yard around you, you could get the jugs from them and probably the cases too. I remember my buddy got a set of jugs and cases from the junk yard for 300 bucks.
  13. The way this topic is going im just going to say it, I highly suggest a boost bottle also. Also seriously now, if your jugs are bored over alot, say .80, I would buy some new ones off ebay so that you get a good return on your money if you do a port job.
  14. Do it! I've got the vitos super stock pistons, they are pretty awesome. Its kind of like a port job without the bike being less reliable. And less expensive. Im sure there not as good as a reall nice port job is, but it definitly made a huge difference. I guess the power pistons are for more low end and midrange and the super stocks are for more top end and midrange.
  15. If your running a mixture of 40:1 or 50:1 I have a idea for ya. Your bike is probably fine the way it is, BUT when you get there and it seems to be running lean, just take some oil and dump a small amount in your gas tank and shake the bike to mix it in there good. that will richen up your bike and you wont have to deal with jetting when your on a small 1 day ride. Just dont dump alot, just a small amount. Its called ghetto tuning.
  16. The bottle was designed to re-fill the radiator, BUT it doesnt I relocated mine about 4 years ago with zip ties. Relocating it just made more work, now I have to pull the plastic to get it out of there sometime when im bored. The bottle is kind of like president bush, was designed to do a job but just doesnt pull it off.
  17. Yea thats what i meant, that shit is actually magical though.
  18. Ive never heard of it, if its like a fix a flat type stuff then yeah I use it. I use this stuff called Slime, its green and works amazing. Say you get a flat that shit moves right on in the hole and stops it from ever really going flat.
  19. Hey man, I'm from Macomb, Michigan. About an hr north of Detroit. DUDE!!! where do you RIDE!! I can not find any place to ride other then the mounds. Theres an old gun range by my house that is an ok place to ride if your bored and just want something to do, but the cops come in there often and give you problems. Havent heard of them impounding bikes or anything but heard of them writting tickets for trespassing. Mainly to kids who are back there off roading in there trucks. Brind someone in there 40s and your good, they will just kick you out.
  20. Any house insulation you buy is basically fire resistant, the high priced stuff that is marked as fire resistant is basically the company ran tests to prove it is fire resistant and comes with a letter that says it is. Its for builders where they have to prove to the city inspectors that it is fire resistant. Anyways you can get a big roll of it at lowes or home depot, i think its 30 bucks, should last you a LONG time. Its called R-13 insulation or R-19, dont buy R-30 or anything with numbers that high. Its twice as thick and you will have to peel half the insulation off to get it to fit into the silencer.
  21. Ok, after i let the bike warm up at an idle with a few small revs here and there and i take off and give it a good dose of throttle it is really sluggish, doesnt bog, just breaks up and runs poor. Everytime after that it runs perfect, just the first time hittin the throttle good. I was thinkin it was just loading up from idleing when warming up. What you guys think? If im right, this means my air screws need to be adjusted correct? Or main jets? I have the air screws at about 1.5 turns out with 27.5 pilots. My mods are in the sig. Thanks.
  22. In a round about way yes it is. It's rather ghetto but I use wall insulation sometimes when the local shop doesnt have any. Wall insulation isnt as dense as regular silencer packing so you will have to really pack that stuff in there for the same effect. Make sure you peel off the paper backing on it too.
  23. If you think its your a-arms then put the bike up on a crate, take the wheel off. Take a couple of peices of long angle iron and attach them to your front hubs and your rear hubs. Then take 2 peices and attach them across the front of the bike and the rear make sure there strait. Dont go off your bike for them to be strait, put a level on them or something like that. Now take measurements on each side to be sure each side is the same. Its basically like setting up a jig. I had to do that to mine when I got my extended a-arms, my frame is tweaked a bit in the front. Its def a super accurate way and pretty easy. takes about 30 minutes.
  24. Awesome, thanks guys. I was just wondering because I just noticed it and the shocks are used so wanted to make sure I didnt get a bad set of shocks.
  25. I was wondering why there is a difference between 2 stroke pipes and 4 stroke pipes. Im just curious and would like to find out why. Just super curious. Thanks.
