This bike is a 1995 Yamaha Banshee. I have had it for the past 8 years. A year after it was purchased it was torn down and I started to rebuild the whole bike. Last year I finally finished it. The bike is pretty much like going to a dealer and buying a brand new one but with lots of aftermarket parts. Here is the parts list... BRAND NEW VITOS CRANK BRAND NEW VITOS SUPER STOCK PISTONS BRAND NEW RICKY STATOR STATOR BRAND NEW RICKY STATOR COIL BRAND NEW RICKY STATOR FLYWHEEL BRAND NEW WIRING HARNESS BRAND NEW BILLET CLUTCH BASKET BRAND NEW DIRT DIGGER CLUTCH AND PERCH BRAND NEW +2+1 AMERICAN STAR A-ARMS WORKS DUAL RATE FRONT SHOCKS W/REZ BRAND NEW BOYSEN REEDS BOOST BOTTLE BRAND NEW DYNA JET KIT W/ 30 SPARE JETS OF VARIOUS SIZES FOR ALL JETTING NEEDS MILD PORT AND POLISH, NOT TOO CRAZY, NOT TO0 SISSY BRAND NEW BILLET REAR WHEEL SPACERS PRO CIRCUIT PIPES AND SILENCERS W/ SPARK ARRESTORS TO KEEP THE TREE HUGGERS HAPPY MILLED HEAD BILLET RAD COVER BILLET CLUTCH COVER BILLET FRONT BRAKE COVER K&N CLAMP ON AIR FILTERS BRAND NEW SEALS, GASKETS, AND BEARINGS ALL AROUND That is about all I can think of right now, probably missed a few here and there. Bike has roughly 2 hours on since rebuild, which were pretty much just tuning it and making sure everything worked correctly. Whole bike was repainted and had 4 coats of clear sprayed on it. Anyone ever try to quit dipping/smoking?

My freinds parents got laser acupuncture? Not sure how you spell that. But anyways its been about 3 years now and they havent smoked. It did cost around 300 bucks but, its what I call a good investment. 300 bucks now or 1500 bucks per year. You could always go on a trip far away. My dad also used an inhaler type aid for the plane when we went to hawaii. He didnt plan on quitting but he said it worked great for the cravings. The best way I think is just cut down how much u smoke each day till your at about half of what you use to smoke, then go for it. Im going to be getting the laser acupunture done pretty soon. Just dont be a crazy and go to the hypnotist to quit smoking. -
Yea i agree, in the summer I can almost get it started with my hand. Winter is another story. I have 125 compression as of a week ago.

Check your flywheel and see if its torqued down. Your flywheel key may have sheared off from the flywheel comming loose.

If the flywheel is bad you can check it by taking it off and shaking it next to your ear. If you hear rattling then the magnets are loose and its toast. Also i had a no spark problem and ended up replacing the wiring, coil, flywheel, and checking and re-checking countless items. I then just said screw it and bought a new stator even though mine tested good and within 2 kicks it started right up. I had the same "i will spark when i want to" attitude out of my bike as well. You should also check the grounds on your wiring harness and on the coil.

I guess the only question i have left is would 13/41 be the same as 14/42? If not, would 13/41 give more low end then a 14/42? If so then im going with that. Now I just have to find a chain that isnt gold!

mine is a 42 and ive never changed it so i figured it was stock, guess not. Taller in rear= more low end/acceleration? Or other way around?

Im putting a 13 tooth front sprocket on this week sometime, wondering what size rear everyone suggests. Should I just keep stock 42? I want more low end, but I dont want to make my low gears useless. First is almost useless to me right now, other then for putting around. I wouldnt mind using 2nd gear as my starting gear, I never reach 6th gear. Thanks. Also are RK chains anygood? Or should I stick with DID. Does anyone make a chain that isnt gold! I hate gold. Seems the only good chains I see on the net and at local shops are gold.

Well since i still own it and my car is fixed(apparantly it was only a 100 dollar part) i mines well make it how i want it, shaving the rear fenders tomorrow.

Parts that seem pointless are normally on there for a reason that only an engineer/designer would fully understand the purpose and importance of them.

ive heard that advancing your timing with a timing plate and having a aftermarket cdi box will cause problems, even a no spark attitude. Could be totally wrong, but thought i would throw it out there.

i 3rd the swing arm bearings. You will also feel it when you lock up your rear brakes. I think the bearing kit is like 65 from pivot works. -
Sings of a Stator going going gone

You can test your stator with an ohm meter, but it doesnt always mean its good. I had an awesome electrical problem and replaced, wiring, flywheel, coil, and last but not least the stator that tested good. 2 kicks and it started right up. -
Agree, mine was welded inside the gear, I put it in a press and still wouldnt come out. Had to replace the gear shaft. It was around 80 bucks at the dealer ship.

My silencer is missing a important piece

You can get replacements from Alba. Also magicracing.com has some too. They are designed for silencers that arent spark arrestors. Pro-Circuit may have replacements too. -

When you put the trans back in, run it through all the gears before you seal the cases. I think it says this in the clymers manual.
