  1. A friend of mine put a cool head on his stock banshee just to keep the cylinder temps down.
  2. Thanks for the tips. I will definitely go with the ball joints now that I hear the bad storys about the heim joints.
  3. Besides wicked arms I was also looking at eyeball engineering arms. I did not know stellar was making a arm... I will have to look into them too... Thank you for your opinions and helpful storys.
  4. IIRC the stock head has the sequence right on it... this might help. Different brand but same basic sequence...
  5. Correct. only a film of oil from the pre-mix should be present in the lower crank case.
  6. so it is a mix of good and bad... They looked like decent arms. I wanted to get some opinions before I make any steps closer to buying.
  7. Does anyone know anything about this company? Or have had experience with these arms. Sounds like they are built to be tough. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ASR-Yamaha-Banshee-2-up-1-MX-Star-Racing-A-Arms_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem439bd83d55QQitemZ290377448789QQptZMotorsQ5fATVQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories Give me your opinion.. Thanks
  8. How much oil are you talking about? It should not be completely dry but there should not be puddle in the crankcase either. What color is the oil? if it is the same color as the trans oil than you have a problem
  9. To me it sounds like you don't have enough fuel in the upper rpm area.
  10. Your problem is still in your carbs. do you still run the stock needle? have you changed your pilot? Have you cleaned or adjusted your air screws?
  11. Throw that flywheel away... don't even try to use it.. You can clean the stator off with some brake cleaner and an air hose.
  12. The search button... We have one of those Is that the new fangled thingy up towards the top of the page
  13. I would pull the flywheel and make sure you didn't sheer the key off. What ratio of premix are you running? How do the plugs look? This could determine if you are getting enough oil to the bearings...
  14. I have one on my 4mm. It is so easy to tune. My bike loves the single carb.
  15. all I use to do was take the peg off then the shifter. After everything is out of the way I take a drywall screw and screw it into the seal and use a pair of pliers to pull on the screw to pop the seal out. Clean the surfaces. Apply a small amount of rtv to the outside of the seal and use a deep well socket to reinstall the seal.
  16. doesn't it seem that sometimes you don't want to post what the problem was. Like you should have known better but were too anxious. I wanted to ride one winter so I changed my plugs, jumped on my bike and proceed to start it. it didn't want to run too well. But it was cold so I puttsed around the block and it still ran like crap. I was pissed. than my brother reached down and plugged my sparkplug wire back on and ran like a champ. Boy did I feel dumb..
  17. Your front end looks different.... How's it ride in woops??? I would think like a Cadillac.
  18. I would check to make sure you have your carb slides in the right carb.
  19. From what I have researched the 250 and the 350 use the same spring pack. So there would be no difference in size, spring rate, or tow capacity.
  20. your old tecate does not use the link arm for the shock. This is why when you put the banshee shock on it was stiff. If you use the whole swingarm set up off a banshee it will set the shock at a different angle. It would probably give you a much plusher ride. I'm into fabbing.. I say go for it.
  21. sounds like an air leak on that cylinder. give your carb boots a good visual and squeeze. If they are dry rotting and cracking replace them. A leak down test would help also. I would also check what your timing is set at. (if it is adjustable). How did the spark plug look? white, gray or black???
  22. Make sure you soak the fiber discs in your new trans fluid for at least an hour before you install them. Your trans fluid = what ever you run. Bel-ray, Golden Spectra, motor oil or atf.
  23. I thought the same thing the first time I saw that too. than I put a screw driver all the way through it and realized it was suppose to be there.
  24. I would definitely put some bars back in there. You would probably start bending the frame from the lack of strength and end up with a banana frame.
