What do I use to help seal my head gasket
Washburn replied to 350BANSHEE350's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Nothing, just make sure the gasket doesnt have any cracks in it and make sure its not warped. -
I have the steel braided throttle cabel with my 2:1 it works alot better than other cables. You should look into a hone and new rings for your pistons if your running 95psi in each cyl Thats really low and is affecting preformance.

I used to Ice race my LT250R and I put 4 screws on the outside of each thread if you see what I mean Holeshots. I put 1 in everyother row for side control. Just make sure your not spitting them all over everybody it kind of pisses people off

You do have your gearing pretty set for topend with that big of rears. I have 20in rear Razr 2s and they are great for clearence and riding through the tough stuff and you dont have to sacrifice bottom end at all. You could also try droping a tooth on the front sproket. Bet that would help. Your other options is to do what Hollister Hitman said and get a - swingarm. Guarenteed you wont have any traction problems with a -2 or -3 swingarm and you will corner better. I have a Lonestar new style roundhouse -3 PCed red swingarm straight as straight get no cracks or anything. New bushings without carrier I can do 240.00 shipped. I am sticking to stock untill I get this Elka linkage figured out then I will buy a new -2 or -3 swingarm.

Arroya vs Danzig would have been a much better fight er a fight at all. I picked Arroya as soon as I seen him I went 100% on my picks last night. too bad Im not doing that in the NFL Threads this season but Im not as up on it as I was last year. Good job with it this year though bud you really came through  As of now I like GSP over Hughes. I bet hes training his ass off on a months notice. But hes in the UFC and hes a contender so I believe hes in good shape and will be close to top notch fight night. and I need to see a little more of Serra in action to make an educated pick but Ide like to see him Take it to either of them. I love them brawlers man cause I am one. I have MMA skills If I want to call it that in Boxing and wrestling and I made Green belt in Karate before I went rite back to boxing/wrestling so I think that gives me a heads up on my picks once I know the fighters. Fighting in the street and the ring are two diffrent animals though. I dont fight either anymore and Im definatly not in shape for anything past 2 rounds in any ring but I like to watch both equaly.

Yeah and that shows how technique beats brute strength everytime. That was a kickass night with some kickass fights. I loved every minute of it. To bad the PPVs are like 50 bones but if you got a few friends kickin in and some beers its always the shit to watch!

Which is why I say CPIs could be a good choice with that port because of how early they sign on. I could see them getting in the way if your racing in technical spots though. Lower duration ports done correctly can pull like a grunty 4 stroke up to 6k RPM and mid should pull like a truck. Taking away topend to get good low and mid is a great way to work/run a woods Banshee. A Woods port should be very broad with a slightly bigger bore to lower the exhuast duration.

Im rite at 160psi each cyl with 20cc domes and +4 timing and Im fine with 93. I am going to be advancing my timing some more next time I get to it cause advanced timing is balls out great for the Banshee motor. I have 3 5 gal gas tanks 1 will be 93 1 will be VP 110 and the last will be for mixing the two.

Woods ports generaly consist of A low duration exhaust and a high transfer duration Plus The intake and port tunnels worked to move the fuel/air through faster. It really wakes the motor up and choice of pipes are pretty key. Pro Circuts, CPI(Not just drag pipes they sign on fairly early), DMC 916s, or my personal choice Paul Turner Midrange pipes but Im getting a total custom port job for mine cause I know exactly where I want/Need my power to be and I know what pipes/Domes/Timing/Gearing/4mil crank I will be running. Plus I know the power of the Banshee and where I can get the best bang. I can also look at the port map being customized for mine and make changes here or there if I want but my guys pretty good so is Jim from Passions racing. Look to HERR JUGS RACING Also great prices and awsome work from what I hear. Most important thing about porting for the woods is knowing where you want your power and what compression/timing and bolt ons youll be running and talking to a builder who can handle your needs I recomend my guys back here and James Smart of Passion Racing to do a great job for woods. Dont go to a Drag/Dune speicalist for a woods port.

You know Im not the best at proper Grammer or spelling. But shit man..

You cant find parts for those things and they are kinda poorly built. for the 7 hundo you could just look for an older LT80 those things are so bullet proof its rediclous.

I think youll be safe just shaking it a bunch. Jeeze. No need for space heaters. Unless theyre really from space

No adding more or less compression without porting, new pistons diffrent crank/longrods ect.. has very little to do with a richer or leaner running motor. Reeds on the other hand could make you run a little fatter in the mid say if you installed VF3s to stock. There is always the case that when you put the head on you put a bad head gasket on or forgot to put it in before you instaled the head witch could definatly cause that. Also if your running in these freezing conditions we just got here and dident change your jetting theres your problem.

I live in PA too, Pittsburgh. I have a full tank in 927, and its been sitting for 2 weeks and its definatly already seperated. Im gonna drain it and put in fresh and save the fuel for my weedeaters. But if it was in there and I had no other fuel or a 5 gal tank already mixed Ide just shake the shit out of it untill it bonded back together. Its not going to hurt anything but Klotz and 927 do seperate in colder weather so I shake the bike around after it sits for the night or gets cold again.

There are so soo many variables its not just whos quads faster. Its #1 Traction where are you guys racing pavement? #2 Getting a good start and shifting corectly (Ide let my RPMs go untill its time to shift keep on the throttle while shifting but dont mess up) #3 What mods do you have against the mods he has? Tire size/Tread left on the tires and gearing play a big role in this. If your not ported but you have all of the boltons like I do and he has a pipe and filter with no head porting you should be able to take him but know your not a shoe in. Those 450s are fast. Do it if you can afford it and you know everything about his bike.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh yes, I hope this all comes back to you Greg,
-
Do you know what weight and riding style they were valved for? You might be able to just get away with new main springs. You can have Elka install PBs and adjustments for you but it wont be cheap and I see your on a budget there. I know I am.
-
Yeah I heard from a few woods/XC guys that the fox floats and evols arent that great and their expensive. Ide stick with Elka, or Axis for woods racing PEP for motocross.
-
No I actualy dont know to much about them myself other than every guy I see with a modded 400ex or 450 has the GPR V1 Stabilizer. and they preform better than any other one I have run.I asked my guy about them and he said they make them for the banshee for 350.00. I never seen the GPR V4 Dirt Stabilizer mabey they are new but thats what Im looking at. Ill let you know next time I talk to him for sure.
