  1. You cdan ride a dune ported motor in the woods all day but you will be so focused on throttle control that you wont be fast at all except in straight lines plus your rpms where you want all of you power for woods riding will be to high up in the power band to be a truley effective woods motor. Just get a woods port, Youll be satisfied. you dont want to much matirel taken out of your ports and you dont want them raised to high so it only likes higher rpms. Oh, PWKs are a line of Carbs that Keihin makes. 28-33 PWKs are good for woods motors. A 2:1 Carb intake with a single 35PWK is a good setup too.
  2. Ide think after you put all of those mods on it youde just keep her and instead of modding her out anymore save what you can and put a 2500-3000 downpayment on a 525xc
  3. Im having the exact same problem with my single 35PWK. I know its the float, I havent tried the water trick yet but next time I am. and Ive tried bending it and making sure the needel that attaches to the float was clean but its still pissing gas out of the top overflow. I dont know what the hell Im doing wrong. Im taking it to my mechanic if I cant get it next try tomorow or saturday I sure hope nothings worn out I want to ride this weekend.
  4. Yeah hes useing 104 octane boost good for 25 gallons stuff. I rode it and it is super fast. Thing is, is Im going to have to do a comp test behind his back for his own good cause hes a stouborn fool. Also a new steering stem cause of the block off will tremendously help. I have some old viper rears Im going to give him since he doesnt want to pony up for good rear tires. People like him and their Logic never fail to amaze me. Over 2k in motor mods and none on rear tires come on now.
  5. Yeah I looked into this too but the Banshees are just to untame in the woods for a twist. Constantly hitting the throtke out of rut and whoops sections and landing jumps and twisting the throttle too much can be painfull. Sometimes you can correct it but its them times that you cant is where you and your Banshee pay.
  6. Yeah, see I know him too well to KNOW that hes not gonna pony up for the extra octane and he will stick with his octane boost theroy yet still want the preformance, unless I spend seriously an hour explaining this to him. He already thinks his is the better of the 2 (Mine compared to his) he hasent rode in almost a year and he damn sure hasent rode with all of my mods. But whatever . He will have excuses for loseing too. My bet is 2 gallons of VP110 and 2 Gallons of 93. Thats safe its avabile to him from Buchanan Racing rite by us and it will make the most sence to his thick skull.
  7. My buddie just bought a yfz450 and the guy he bought it from said it needs atleast 104 octane. Now I havent gone over it or even heard it start up yet but question is, is he is running 94 and octane boost from auto zone. I told him it was a bad Idea but I would like to know what a few of you that can really get into the topic more. BTW I dont have any motor mod info on it besids it has a gibson full exhuast and it has head work.
  8. That is one hell of a deal for a Banshee that runs nonetheless. You can pick up a pair of cheap cases on here or on ebay. You should check all of the bushings as well. May as well replace anything that needs it while you tear her down. What brand and length is that swingarm?
  9. Its always nice to find a dealer with parts in stock and fast shipping. I am seriously drooling over that YAMONDA R. I kinda wish I would have waited and got one of those frames first. Im am very pleased with how my Shee is setup and how it handels but that thing is IMO the perfect Machine.
  10. the small orings go in before you put the head over the base, then when you put the head on it goes copper washers then acorn nuts
  11. I like the Lonestar +2+1 racing a arms over the Jans they seem to be a bit more beefy and I like the overall construction of the arms better thats way I went with them to me. Lagers dont offer +1 forward and Roll Design is for someone with an unlimited budget.
  12. I have a 40th carbon steel JT Rear spocket brand new in package for 20 shipped. PM me if your intrested.
  13. Dude I knew as soon as I read the first line of that shit it was a joke but I was thinking who the hell does this dick think he is, then I remembered it was april fools day, whatevea floats your boat.
  14. I weigh 10lbs less than you so here a good TIP. Bust you mechanic in the ribs break em and tell him to blow himself AND LIKE IT! Basic matenince and going over everything will solve these problems. Youll be needing new suspension too. Trust me from one big dude to another even if your only hardcore trail riding Yamaha sets their suspension for 120lb people. Oh and 800 for a woods port and a rejet LOL. NO! I can hook you up if you want to send your motor out with a woods porting genious and Im sure a few other builders on this boaard can help you.
  15. If you get a 4mil longrod you will need A. porting to match the the stroke to get the most out of it and you will need Wiesco 795 series pistons and stroker cut domes or run a spacer plate. Compression doesnt vary a huge amount from a ported and slightly ported motor. You compression should be around 120(stock)-190 with no more than a 5psi diffrence in both cyls, if you have a coolhead with smaller domes or a cut stock head for higher compression. advanced timing raises compression too.
  16. A GT Thunder revalve and Eibach spring would turn it into a whole new shock and give you what you looking for if you dont have the cash for the LT Elka shock and LT Linkage.
  17. First thing about running one is you have to have an aftermarket steering stem I prefer the Lonestar anti vibe or Roll Design ones. Then the GPR 8 click adjustable on the fly steering stabilizer is the best money can buy and to answer your question YES they do make a drastic diffrence on the way your bike handels. I highly reomend that setup. Ive been getting cought up on bills and everything I havent put much on my quad since the Elka Elites all around with the pro dual linkage in the rear. Next up is that setup LSR AntiVibe +1 stem and a GPR 8 click adjustment on the fly Stabilizer.
  18. Yeah Modquad makes them Lonestar makes them (I am going with the LSR stem myself) Roll Design make them. Next step after a stem with an anti vibe setup would be shelling out another $400.00 and getting a 8 adjust on the fly GPR steering Stabilizer. They make all of the diffrence in the world in the handeling department I dont know a single pro AWRCS Racer that doesnt have one. They are a great investment along with wider +1 a arms and suspension mods youll have a dream Banshee. www.modquad.com- Modquads site www.lsracing.com- Lonestar Racing's site
  19. I know from hanging around a I used to sell some parts for a local race shop by my land and Ive heard nothing but good things about Laegers products and their customer service. I went with Lonestar Racing A Arms cause Laegers dident offer the +1 forward option. Ide give em a call they seem like nice guys theyve been around long enough and have many of many loyals so they will give you an honost answer IMO.
  20. That si some seriously disrespectful shit. I always get wow your one of the last 2 stroke dudes, or nice bike ect.. I may be a hot head but theres the reason rite there. I would of told him to stick those titanium valves up his ass and next time he sees me get ready to do laps and get smoked by a 20 year old bike faggot!
  21. It depends on how much you advance your timing and how much compression your running now. 150-165 I think 110/93 50/50 will be enough 165 and above I would run straight race fuel. Leaded fuels acyualy are better for a 2 stroke engine adding a little more lube and most higher octane race fuels like VP are leaded.
  22. I always check nuts and bolts in critical areas on new and espically used bikes its just second nature for me. But the point is you shouldnt HAVE to and NOTHING should be loose espically something that critical thats fucked up. I would demand all of the protective gear they have in the store and a set of tools including a Torque wrench to go over their work or in this case lack there of and tell them you are going to report them to the better business bureau. These are mistakes that SHOULD NOT be made Period.
  23. If your looking for more topend 1 tooth bigger on front would put you at 15/41 or 1 tooth less on the rear 14/40. I have a brand new in package JT 40TH Rear Carbon Steel (The best for sprocket strength) sprocket that would really make your bike scream on top for 18 shipped.
  24. My LT250R was FUBAR and I wanted a new Racer. I debated between a 450 a TRX250R Or a Banshee. I rode a piped yfz450 and a pretty modded TRX250R back and forth for 1 day then My buddie with his Banshee came up and after riding the Banshee for 2 hours straight working lines and putting together in my mind how much it was worth upgrading to be competitive enough to hang with the others I just couldent see how it wouldnt be the perfect machine for me. Instantly addicted to the power and with the Mods I have on it now its great. I looked around checked out about 8 Shees and ended up buying my used 03 for 2700.00 from the stealership.
  25. f you dont take it someone here will for sure I know I will. Its a deal. Find out what kind of shock it is too. Yes the motor swap will work.
