  1. Ill second that, bought a used pair this summer for $410!!!!!!
  2. So I see you like rich men and would like to meet Ron Jeremy, hmmmm..... :woot:
  3. I used to live there....
  4. Where in michigan?
  5. Yeah, we had something like that around here not too long ago, mother drown her infant and got off real light. Dont take offense to this brooke but I guess you girls are a little crazy around that time and right after with that post "partem?" Not saying its right but I have not spent much time around pregnant women so I dont know how bad it is. You? In the particular case you speak of, damn, you have to admit to shoot yourself in the stomach sounds a little cookoo. Either way it is a shame.
  6. Yeah thats pretty much it. Didnt want to go hauling balls down the road to do a plug chop and have it go into cardiac arrest
  7. I could be wrong but it shouldnt vary more than 15 psi. I think sea level is 14.7psi and the further you go up in the atmosphere the less it gets. I dont know the elevation of sand mountain but lets guess it is higher than Santa rosa, your readings there will be lower than your results in cali.
  8. I guess it doesn't seem to far off, and I'll be sure to do a plug chop as soon as it's up and running to make sure I'm not too lean... Thanks for the advice.. I have a question for these guys and it is relavent to your statement here... What do you guys do with motor work like this when you have a fresh top end or even bottom end for that matter? run a tank or two at a rich ratio blah, blah, then do the plug chop? Hate to ruin all that expensive work... :shoothead:
  9. Sorry about the double post...oops! 88 ft lbs but that is for a stock axle. I just got a lonestar a few months ago and there was no literature with it (it was new from the factory) so I guess theyre the same. Says nothing about loctite but if you dont have the castle nut/hitch pin set up it may not be a bad idea.
  10. Cant you return them rather than take a loss?
  11. The clymers manual recommends RED, I myself used blue this spring and havent had any trouble with them working loose; just make sure the threads are CLEAN!! Do you have the axle nut wrenches? If not the torque values are meaningless. Inside nut to 40 ft*lb Hold inside nut and tighten outside nut to 140 Draw a line across both nuts. Hold outside nut while turning the inside nut against the outside nut (jamb) to 177 ft lb. Measure the distance between the two lines you have drawn. If it is less than 3mm, repeat until a distance is gained of a min of 3mm. That is paraphrased from the clymers manual. Otherwise, grab a couple pipe wrenches or 18in crescents and your loctite. Oh, and spent 30 bucks on a clymers and you wont have to wait for days for someone to do this for you
  12. Like to see how it stacks up against the rest...bout time kawi gets with it. I think that has aluminum subframe and EFI. Maybe I'm sick but I think it looks alright
  13. The pin that the float uses for a hinge will slide out through the side. It can be stubborn. So can the needle. Just be carefull not to use too much force, or at least check your float height when your done.
  14. I believe that the intake benefits from turbulance but the exhaust ports get polished
  15. Armadillo makes an out n' back rack that holds a special 1 gal gas can, plus a six pack cooler that would probably hold a 2 gal can. I dont have one, but theyre out there... That way you can bolt it in place of your rear grab bar when you go on a longer ride and swap it back out when you dont need it, not that it looks bad or anything.
  16. Check that the choke hose between carbs is connected, it wont run without that. Just in case you forgot--I hope its something easy like that anyway!
  17. How about a tiny clue as to what part of michigan you ride?
  18. Do you have any spark on that side?
  19. Did you cut the threads off the plug or are you trying to see from the top, you wont have an accurate visual until you cut the threads... your mains are large enough that if your doing the chop correctly you have problems elsewhere; air leak
  20. Positive the crank is straight? Try checking the radial runout...
  21. Are you talking about an actual carbon fiber cover or the stock "fake" one?
  22. I think most of us have gone through a pretty serious breakup and one things for sure.. life goes on. Hurts like hell for a little while but it seems like an eternity. Keep busy and accomplish some things while your at it; goals..ect. You definately dont need to mope around and dwell on things. You'll get over it
  23. Try adjusting your air screws on your carbs. I still have stock mikunis but I recently messed with the air screws and ended up in the same boat you're in. Put the screws back to about 1 turn out vs 2 turns out and the bog went away. It was bad, like you say, let the clutch out and give it more than enough throttle and it would die. Rev up fine in neutral, though. Worth a try and it would be a real easy fix if it is the problem
  24. That sucks, I saw something about that, the remake of C.O. Why would anyone attemp to remake a Kubrick film? Thats like fuckin trying to improve the mona lisa or some shit...
  25. I heard that!! Funny thing about shit like that is teens and early twenty somethings is they dont know that there was an original, same with When a Stranger Calls, Texas Chainsaw Massacre(2003 version was ok--just starting right now on Spike) and countless other classic flix.
