  1. Yeah, I have always wondered why there is that much difference in jetting. I have 280 mains, 25 pilots, and I am at 1000ft. Been running good for about four months now. Never heard of the 11.6 pilots either.
  2. I just put kenda knarly's on mine and I like the way they hook. That is all I can tell you for now because I haven't got to run them long enough to see how they wear. So far so good.
  3. Well my opinion on the banshee is, they are an awesome 4 wheeler to ride. I think people over react alot when it comes to the banshee. I have had two of them, this is the first one I have done any mods to also. My first one was stock, had it three years and ran the shit out of it. It never gave me any problems at all. Now the one I ride, I have a few mods done to it, been to the dunes with it ran the hell out of it, it has never given me any problems yet. Starts on the first or second kick everytime. So far simple to add mods to it, I think the ones that have a lot of problems with them are the ones that don't take their time to do it right. What I mean is some people will try to reuse old gaskets, they don't torque their shit back the way the book says, mainly take the time to make it right and buy the right tools needed for the job. I'd say the most important thing is buy the book on it, do it by the book. I have done mine this way and not one problem. Just my 2 cents
  4. Check with Jeff a F.A.S.T he has some inline ones, I'm not sure on the price though.
  5. Yeah, I have seen the spacers but i've seen a lot of shit talk about them also. I also ride more trails than anything else. I did a search on the spacers earlier, seems like some like them and others don't. I don't know shit about them so I can't comment. That is one of my options but kinda skeptical about them, but then again I don't do a lot big jumping and stuff like that.
  6. I mounted up the new tires today, and with the offset of the wheels, it is now wider than the front. I could flip them or leave them, but if I leave them I need to make up for the front end which is now narrower than the front by quite a bit. I noticed it wanted to push a little bit while turning, which I expected. Not to sure if I like the wide look, probably gained four inches in width. Do any of you guys have pics of your banshee's with the wider stance. I also ride a few trails, don't do any of that high flying shit either, sometimes dunes, and just messing around. Should I buy different wheels for the rear or maybe wider a -arms for the front? Also, what a-arms would you guys recommend for my riding? I would like to see some pics if anyone has some of their wider stance banshee.
  7. Alright, I got them done, I set one out in the sun for a couple of hours and when I went to look at it, it had beaded up. The other one went on alright, but it was pretty hot also from setting outside. Thanks for all the help.
  8. Yeah, I have done the starting fluid trick before on a truck tire. Never on a tire this small. I also haven't taken the core out of the stem and aired it up yet. The side of the tire says max air 15 psi. so I'm going to about 20psi. I think I will let them set out in the sun for a while, we have done that with dirt track tires before. I left the air in over night to see if that would do anything, so I still need to check that out. Thanks for the replies.
  9. Man, I've been trying to get these new knarly tires to bead up and these fuckers won't go. I finally got the front to go, but the back side won't go on the rear wheels. I put a strap around them and put 20#'s of air in them. I also remeasured the wheels and they are the same. I am using different wheels. Tryed the soapy water trick and nothing. Thanks for any input.
  10. I raced a buddy of mines 250R that has been piped and jetted and that is it, it wasn't even a race, but I have more mods than that. That was also on paddles in the sand. I personally wouldn't do it, especially with all the mods you have done to yours.
  11. There is also isky cams, i believe they have been around a long time.
  12. Yeah, that's it.
  13. Buy a carb. synchronizing tool, mine was a little boggy on the bottom end until I synchronized them. That made a big difference, also where are your air screws set at?
  14. No Gooda, send it back :ermm:
  15. I don't have any pics but I can tell you that when the carbs are on the four wheeler the idle screws will be facing the outside. There are two big holes in the sides of the carbs. that go straight in line where the slides for the carbs would be. The bosses are not flat and you have to file or grind them down, then they are drilled and tapped. You can buy the whole kit with screws, drill, and tap. You also have to take both carbs off, one at a time, take it apart before you do anything. Just make sure you don't drill the wrong holes because there are holes on the other side of the carbs too. Make sure you clean the carbs very well after this.
  16. I also did all my business with Jeff so far and you couldn't ask for better service.
  17. Did you drill and tap the sides of the carbs. for the idle screws?
  18. I run 20cc domes, +4 timing, 150psi in both cylinders, that's probably a little low because the motor has never had a new top end yet. 89 octane, because that is the highest around here. I ran the dog shit out of it 4 days in a row at little sahara. Never had any issues. After I rebuild it I will probably buy a 55 gallon barrel of fuel and start mixing.
  19. Type reeds in the search section.
  20. I went to the parts store and got 4 freeze plugs, a piece of I believe 1-3/4 radiator hose. Stuck my freeze plugs in and hose clamped them in the exhaust ports. I took the other freeze plugs and drilled one hole in it and put a valve stem in it, used a little hand pump for air shocks on a motorcycle which already has a built in guage. The other hole was plugged solid also. I used 6 hose clamps also. Worked fine on mine.
  21. Well, I dont' have the mods you do. look at my mods and I have 150 in each cylinder and motor is all stock internally. It has never been reringed yet either. Mine was 120 in each cylinder before I added the coolhead also. Hope that helps a little.
  22. It's pretty simple, use the split in the cases to set the timing to. and use a little loctite on the timing plate screws. The water pump impeller is also an easy task.
  23. No, with the mods in my sig I still run 91 octane. Been working fine for me.
  24. With my mods, I tried the 300 mains and it killed mine. Went back to 280 mains, about 1-1/4 turns out on the screws and runs awesome. Also I have the stock pilots in. I'm at 1000 ft.
  25. Yamalube 32:1. Stinkin shit.
