if you do the minumal motor work to accomidate for a 4mm storker i beilve the gains are about 7% over stock...nothing detramental... however i have never seen anyone run simply run it that way becasue you are starving the motor by not running bigger carbs. not to mention if your going to builkd a motor most ppl would do everything at one time rather then spreading it out over months...
was this a new rebuilt motor that your riding?
if so did you give it proper time to break in beore beating the shit out of the parts that wherent seated yet?
sounds like you really dont know hat you want...you want a beast but you want it trail friendly...
you want pull your arms off fast but you want to run a 2 in 1....
a cub is diffenantly a WOT topend motor... its port timings are set for drag racing not tight trials... your going to have as Bigred says "a whole lot of the wrong kind of power"
the bread and butter of the cub wont get to shine unless you got some long open trails... a cub dosent have a friendly bottom end... it almost feels like you have no bottom end and then viloently the powerband kicks in and keeps pulling...
if you want a fastr and stronger bike... get a stroker with a nice port job and a strone ignition to carry the spark... you could have the beast of beats as far as motor goes but if you overlook the sspension your not going to hold that power to the ground and its all going to be in vien... spend the money and get yourself a top notch suspension as well...
any motor cycle shop sells them... just ask for FZR 1000 Fibers and get stock oem steels... ruff the steels up with some fine grit snadpaper and put the clutch back together...
if you got a cool head the o ring will have a small spot that maybe discolored, or your going to need to take the oring and bend it a little bit all the way around and you will see if it has a dry spot that cracked...
i want to say the biggest you can get stock bored to is 30mm but im not 100%... call a few shops if they dont porting they can more then likely do them too...
although i have heard nightmare stories of boring stock carbs... but you never know it mght be just what your looking for if they work out ok...
get your self a clymers manual it shows you everything you need to know about rebuilding your bike... call jeff at fast he sells magnum baskets .... much cheaper then hinson... then get your self some fzr 1000 fibers and stock plates and your ready to rebuild it...
stock carbs?
for stockers i want to say i used 320 mains 27.5 pilots needle 3rd clip 2.5 turns on air screw that shoudl get you close and then do some plug chops and change your jetting to get it spot on..
use some dawn dish soap to clean the outer wears ... dont put any oil on the outers... just run the filter oiled and put your outer on it dry... riding that thing in the snd with oil is going to fill it up FAST...
anyone ever bought this guys bolt kit?
Link
is it any good or are they cheap shitty bolts? also are they polished finish or they dull ?
i know it was covered a few months back but i dont remeber bout this new guys that owns it if he is worth a dman or not?
i have kept mixed gas for about a month and a half or 2 montsh and it ran fine... not sure what the actual shelf life is of it...just make sure you shake the balls out of it and mix it all up again...
not to sound like a dick even though it will come off that way... but its about 90% usless to ask if a service member knows so and so by there names... most people dont realize there is as many service members as a VERY large city ... its pretty much like someone asking hey do you know bob smith? he lives in san diego too... not only that but most service members dont now each others first names unless they are buddies out side of work... we all go by rank and last name... to help narrow it down youneed at the minimum what base they are at and if you know that unit it will make it even ezer...
there was a post a few months back about it... try to search for it... i want to say most ppl that used it liked it for rims and such ... just cant be used very ez on small tight spots..
