  1. think of it like a water hose. your intake/carbs is the nob on the wall, your porting is your hose, and your exhaust is the opening of the hose. if any of those three parts are more restrictive then the others then your going to lose power. they all need to work together to get the max power. yes you "can" run stock carbs but your loosing power.
  2. is there any reason your running stock carbs and shearers? kinda dosent make sence. you got a big wide open drag pipe with a small carb. and your trying to run a air box? the two dont match up. to get the max power out of your motor your carbs/ intake, porting, and exhaust all ned to work together. in your case yours is doing the opposite.

  4. the 158 is stock length... i never found the other...i saw a CR 178 thats for a long rod, either rod could be used for a stroker, the rod length has nothing to do the the "stroker" its all about getting the right piston for the rod length

  14. although doing what bansheefreak said will improve your bottom end once you get the bike running right, you need to get it running first. it sounds like your jetting is off. list any and all mods on the bike, the jetting your currently running, and the temp / elevation your riding at.
  15. if your running oil on them and take that thing out to the sand box your asking for a problem. oil and sand do not mix period. i dont care how you put it. th sand will stick to the oil and clog your filter
