After re-reading this, I realized it could be mistaken for a racist comment. I meant black as in the color... not the person lol... Perhaps a common was appropriate -

I have yet to find anything that says they received any large amount of federal funds before their bankruptcy. I know of talks at one point that said they could receive several billion that would go to escrow and not to the company it's self but nothing that says they actually received large amounts of funds. The second link also talks about the 30 billion that Obama approved the week of the bankruptcy. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/12/19/business/19auto.html "In December, the Senate rejected a House passed auto bailout package using non-TARP funds. In lieu of authorization, the Bush administration used TARP money to provide a $13.4 billion bridge loan to GM and a $4 billion loan to Chrysler." Click on that blog link and look at the second paragraph from the top...the one I quoted in my post, it gives you a direct link to the Washington post. Surly the Washington post is a good enough resource for you Dave. It yes the 25 billion DID come from TARP funds. Sorry to break it to you. If you think they came from somewhere else, please indulge us all and let us know where it was from? Brandon, You won't hear anyone say "things are all good" because people are still dyeing. But things have gotten DRAMTICALLY better. It has gotten to the point that my buddy was in Iraq with 1st Recon Battalion. Their deployment got cut 3 months short because of lack of activity. They came home in May, before that the last time they had a mission to leave the base was on New Years day. So, if a Reconnaissance Battalion is being cut short on a deployment, then things are not as much down the shitter as CNN likes to act. BTW, I like your disclaimer lol. -
This has been asked several times over the last year or so. I never heard anyone respond back that they got through to him or that they verified that he was in or out of the business. If you find anything out please post it up so we can inform others later as I am sure it will comeup again. If you do endup getting ahold of him and your able to get a setup, his stuff was awesome. He had problems with a few of his chromers, but he got them resolved.

Dave, That 700 Billion did NOT go only to the banks and insurance companies. That was a bailout package that was not all inclusive. If you remember there was a big stink over the money being used to bailout auto makers after the money was passed. When the original intent was to use it to bail out the banks and insurance after the mortgage crisis. When Nancy Pelosi was lobbying to use the 700 Billion she was originally told no way no how. Where did that first 25 Billion come from that was given to the auto industry? TARP was the governments Trouble Asset Relief Program to purchase assets from one institution in order to strengthen another. Our housing market was the reason for the TARP in the first place. The subprime mortgage crisis was what caused the program to unfold. "The Washington Post reports that small businesses could soon join GM, Chrysler and AIG as TARP recipients. Though no firm plan has been put forth, Treasury Secretary Geitner reportedly supports the idea of opening up TARP funds to small businesses." http://blogs.findlaw.com/free_enterprise/2...businesses.html Shane, Please, you -

The problem isn't that we are going to make a difference or not, the problem was we were hit on our soil. To stand by and do nothing whether we had UN sanctions to go into whatever country would have had its own negative turmoil. Either way we were damned. The problem with allowing the biggest auto manufactures to sink is the economic crash that it would cost both domestically and internationally. While I wish we could let the basterds fail, I do feel there was a better answer to pulling them out of the gutters beside handing them 700 Billion and calling it a day. But I will save that for another time. Interesting enough, your example of the Mustang Ranch is a classic example of why the government needs to stay out of our "free trade market" and let capitalism reign. -

Ok it is clear you have no idea what you are talking about. Although this isn't a political thread I have to chime in. First of all, Bush didn't "Get rid" of anything except taxes, and social programs. As far as sending everything overseas, this has nothing to do with the president. This is on big business. It all came about after the dot com bubble burst from the laying of fiber optic cable overseas. This paved the way for international business to soar. Big business realized that they can offshore, outsource, and overseas manufacture because it costs them less, which allows them to offer a cheaper product to the consumer. Secondly, Obama has nothing to do with the gas price. Once again if you do a little digging in your brains housing group, the gas prices started falling before the elections. Not a single thing was contributed to Obamas doing. It was the oil manufactures attempt to swing the votes. We are still overseas "cleaning up that mess" because there are still terrorists that are attacking American troops. Remember that timeline that Omaba had set before he was elected? What was it... 18 months to be pulled out? Why was it that only 3 weeks after taking office he said that we needed to "re-examine" his timeline? Because once he became privy to all that info he was not once allowed to know, his mind changed. The social security has been an issue well before our country was put deeper into debt. It was already predicted that we would not social security before 9/11 ever occurred. /rant off -
warm your motor to operating temp. Remove one plug and tighten the tester. Make sure you use the long threaded adaptor or the reading will be off. pull the spark plug cap off the other side so it will not fire. Hold the throttle wide open and kick it over until the needle stops moving. It will usually takes 10 or 15 kicks to get it to completly stop moving. Do the same for both sides, as long as you are within 10 psi then your good. stock a banshee should make about 125 psi, anything under 110 or so your ready for a rebuild.

I know what your talking about. Truck drivers do it wheen they have really heavy loads so they don't loss all thier momentum when shifting gears.
-
Power shifting is where you use the clutch while maintinaing a full throttle. Used alot by AWD cars. Speed shifting is not backing off the throttle. It is shifting when you get to the designated RPM to utilize the maximum power before hitting the redline. http://www.ehow.com/how_2084716_speed-shif...ssion-drag.html You do not need the thing your referring to for changing gears, you can use an override tranny and make full throttle changes without the clutch.
-
then you arn't "speed shifting". Speed shifting is when you hit a certain RPM that allows you to shift under full throttle without banging the gears as hard.
-
Your forgetting about the shift forks. There is more that can break besides the gears.
-
Your not going to feel a differance if you do change them. One of the nice things is that the VF# reeds are typically alot easier to find if you need replacements now days
-
Yea it costs alot of money to pay for the 15 dumpsters that never get emptied, and the 2 water trucks that run 3 times a day.
