  1. First bike I rode was an '87 Honda 200SX. First one I owned was a '8x Honda 110ATC. That 110 was fun to ride in creeks! If I could have any ATV with unlimited mods, it would still be a Banshee. If I had to get a stock one, it would probably be the YFZ450.
  2. 70R was on the carb so I guess it's the 35mm. He's also throwing in a set of VForce reeds. How does that change the jetting?
  3. I'm getting the 35mm Trinity C.V. carb kit used from someone. He mentioned he'd throw the reeds in too and I found out after sending him the money that the reeds are VForces! That's really getting more than I bargained for. Anyway, what can I expect from this combination?
  4. I'm perfectly willing to make contributions, but a membership fee may not be a good idea. That discourages new members and would probably cause a lot of the existing ones to leave.
  5. I went to edit my signature and a lot of <span> crap came up. The code for changing colors and using bold doesn't appear to work. Has that been disabled?
  6. If you have to pull the choke out everytime to start it, you're lean and need to go up on the pilot. It's normal to have to use the choke when it's cold though. Look at a Honda... You have to spend half the day riding with the choke on.
  7. Lee obviously still cares for this site. Switching from PHPBB to Power Board was probably a very time consuming process. Plus look at the way he's constantly reorganizing topics to fine tune things. He made the rule of no images in sigs because he thought it would help us, whether we agree or not. Lee said in the cursed thread that he wouldn't leave us hanging by taking it down and I believe him. I just hope the site doesn't fall in someone's hands that doesn't care or lets the power go to their head.
  8. I hate to see such a great site go down due to something personal between you, Brooke, and Reas. I'm not going to take sides, but it's not fair for the rest of us to suffer. I've been a member here for a long time and have gotten loads of useful information. Without this site, I have nowhere to turn for Banshee advice. If you genuinely don't want to Admin this site anymore then no one can dog you for it. But giving it up over a couple of flaring threads just isn't necessary. Whatever happened between ya'll is your business, I just want to talk about Banshees.
  9. Preloading is basically kicking down (not hard!) on the pegs at the peak of the jump. That gives you more height. Just don't jump off the pegs, that can be nasty.
  10. I was thinking of maybe doing that clear clutch insert myself. I have plenty of plexiglass laying around. Maybe you could get the Trinity CV kit since you ride mostly trails.
  11. Lights, nerfs, more aluminum.
  12. That sounds about right. Damn tree-huggers. I wouldn't let that change your mind on the bike though. I'm sure Yamaha will keep making parts for them.
  13. So there really isn't a good way to do it? ouch, this is going to be fun... Getting that Trinity kit in about a week.
  14. I had heard someone mention this in an earlier post and want to know if it works. Can you check your pilot jetting by warming the bike up, putting in new plugs, letting it idle for 10 minutes, then checking the plug color? 10 minutes seems a bit long to idle, but what do you guys think?
  15. I asked the same question. Here's the link.
  16. I think the most common way of bending upper arms is wheelying. I bent one doing it... then after bending it back did it again, it was trashed. Those arms are very weak. They don't actually support any weight so unless you crash they don't need to be real strong.
  17. I received the hangers from BigBoyBanshee today. Whoa! He sanded and repainted them. They look brand new. Thanks man! Now which way do the stock hangers go on? One tab is straight while the other has a bend in it. Which side mounts to the frame, or does it matter?
  18. I would think that would also increase leverage on your shock so you might want to go a notch or two stiffer.
  19. Razrs are great all around tires, but are kinda lacking in loose stuff like sand. I tried some Bearclaws when I first got the Shee and they worked great on everything. They're heavy though and 22" is the smallest size available.
  20. Yeah, that's all good for racing. But all that clutch jockeying gets tiresome on tight trails.
  21. Dynoport 2 into 1 and Trinity CV system... would you be able to keep the front end down?
  22. So that's how the plugs should look after a 10 second WOT run? I didn't realize the porcelain would have such a drastic difference in 10 seconds.
  23. Well, up to 1/4 to 1/2 throttle cruising is fine, but there's a lack of power for jumping and such. At about 1/3 throttle there's a slight hesitation (which may be due to carb sync or needle being too lean), then the power kicks in and either the tires spin or I take off like a scalded dog. Problem is once the powerband kicks in it'll rev to the moon. Even if I only hold it 1/2 throttle the RPMs keep skyrocketing.
  24. I think people recommend getting the topend rebuilt when compression drops to around 100psi.
  25. So, you're not really supposed to be able to cruise around in the powerband? It's strictly for acceleration?
