  1. Only one cylinder is firing at idle, but they both fire at higher RPMs? Sounds like your idle is out of sync. Take your airbox off and look in the carbs at idle. You may even want to stick something in there to gauge how much of a gap both slides have. Both slides should be the same height from the bottom and raise at the same time when you press the throttle. If you still have the TORS, there are two big knobs facing the seat. Those are what you use to adjust idle. Good luck, and let me know what you find out. My carbs are in sync as close as I can get them and the cylinders still don't fire the same. I've given up on perfect synchronization and am saving for the Trinity CV kit.
  2. I use the spray-on stuff and it works great at collecting dust. Mine is a two stage filter too, but the outer "stage" was torn to hell when I got it. If I was running the dual stage one, I probably wouldn't use the oil either, but definately make sure to clean it between rides.
  3. Yeah, they're for Banshee pipes. I have FMF Gold Series pipes. I think they're the same for CPI, Toomey and FMF but I could be wrong.
  4. Is there anywhere I can find some hangers for less than $40? Those things are bringing a pretty penny online. I need some good clamps too, but they're not quite as high of a priority. Thanks!
  5. That is pretty overpriced for a temp gauge. It looks nice and is going to be more accurate reading from the line it uses, but that's too much $. Besaides, a gauge is a gauge. As long as it accurately reads what it's supposed to, it's done its job. A meat thermometer might appear "cheap", but it does the same thing. I hardly see paying $80 for something that I can get for $5. $75 can buy a new set of goggles and gloves easily. That is the prime spot for the gauge though. I'm not dissing the product, it just doesn't make sense for someone with my budget. On the other hand, if you have sunk thousands into aftermarket parts the gauge would make a nice finishing touch.
  6. That looks pretty good. I don't like the way it only shows temps of 100 and up. Who is going to hit 280 degrees?? I can't think of a good place to mount it off the top of my head either (unless maybe in your gas tank, but that would require a lot of cutting and sealing). All in all good looking product though. Any ideas on the price?
  7. Someone on here started this website and it has a lot of good pics. It's slow and doesn't appear to be up right now, but here ya go... http://www.bansheehq.com.ar/ I mainly just keep an eye on the Images forum and do a lot of saving. I might put all my pics up on a site.
  8. I just saw one of those the other day. It looked the same except for the plastic. They even still has the crappy chain adjustment that has plagued Warriors and Banshees for so many years. The suspension is better? I didn't notice.
  9. Someone sent me an instant message asking if the grab bar was available. The answer is yes, but it won't fit a Banshee.
  10. Dirty, but in good shape and no rust. I have to track down the headpipe though. Got a figure in mind?
  11. Make an offer. The motor is about ruined though so don't plan on riding it as is. Yes, the rectangular ones. Not in good shape. There is a bumper someone made for it that has square tubing in the front. It's super strong but also pretty heavy.
  12. I'd put my money on the Banshee. I rode with a KFX last time that had some mods to it and it was loud and powerful, but not quite as quick as everything else. It raced a piped 250r and a Cannondale. The Cannondale could take it and I'm pretty sure I could take the Cannondale so there ya go. The only advantage the KFX has is not having to shift.
  13. Please have patience. A lot of the members here are immature.
  14. I would suggest installing a temp gauge. It costs less than $5 and you can learn a lot about what riding gets the temps up the quickest. I don't have the link for the instructions, but a simple search should find it rather quick. You basically just tap a meat thermometer into one of the coolant lines. If mine gets real hot I can hear water coolant sizzling off the pipes and the rubber hose I use to hold the pipes together will smoke a little.
  15. I was talking about oil being before the carbs, the filter side. Do you consider using Yamalube over Castor skimping? Shouldn't one work just as well as the other. If anything I would think the Yamalube would work better just for the fact that the same company makes it that makes the ATV it's going in.
  16. I agree.
  17. This is hard to explain but I'll try anyway... I basically used the brass T in a way to where the gauge is spliced in. Basically so it doesn't impede the flow. The way it's setup in that guide, it's going to slow the water flow because once the water hits the T it has to cut a right angle. If you keep the water flowing straight and use the bottom of the T for the gauge, everything should work better... theoretically. Sorry if that explanation didn't make sense.
  18. It depends on how far you're racing and what type of racing. I'm pretty sure a Banshee has more topend so it would probably win in the long run. Off the line... good luck! [EDIT] oooooh... dirtbike... no idea [EDIT]
  19. That just makes me even happier about my switch to Yamalube.
  20. Now that you mention it I've always wondered about the oil in intake too. I guess I always wrote it off as being filter oil.
  21. Trinity C.V. Manifold kit, ProFlow airbox adapter (or get clamp-on with Trinity kit if not hitting dusty trails or water), front shocks
  22. I ran it for a couple years with no problems, then one day the boot came off one of the carbs. I don't think it did any damage though. Just make sure you keep on eye on it.
  23. I have that setup and it works really well. Now if I can just keep my temps below 200 degrees in the woods. I think he's referring to an auto gauge though. I'm not exactly sure how to rig that up.
  24. Well, I'm a Yamalube guy after today. I got the 2-R stuff instead of my usual Castor 927. The Castor costs $6.50 a bottle where the Yamalube costs $4. I got two bottles for under $10 and am happy. The guy at the shop said he ran both in his dirbike and said the Castor gummed up his powervalves just a little, but smelled better. I don't think the sweeter smell is worth an extra $2.50 a bottle. Can't wait till tomorrow when I can give it a shot.
  25. Amen to that. I went riding my wife's Recon around some trails at the house and it was like I had never ridden before. I almost hit several trees and wound up getting stuck in sand.
