  1. Well when I had my YFZ last year I had an HMF pipe on it, it ripped hard from low all the way up to the top, it seemed to like the cam-mod. I did that when I did the pipe, jetting, rev box an air filter. I would say 1. HMF 2. Sparks 3. Ron Woods either one of those 3 are really good pipes an you will be happy with any of those.
  2. Well one of my friends took his Shee there to get it rebuilt an he said they did a pretty good job, I personally have never been there or done buisness with him before, I live 45 mins from Tulsa an also have heard of sandtrax because my good friend took his there to get rebuilt & it took forever to get it back, I guess fast track is pretty good if Jim recomended them, why didnt you just have Jim do your motor work?
  3. Hey man whats up, you could order from Cascade Innovation.com they have everything an I bet you pay a lil less for the pipes an filters there than if you ordered from Toomey. Thats where im orderin my stuff from in a couple of weeks, everything in one stop. $539 for chrome T-5's
  4. Hey man you already know what I picked, I would go with Rockets because no one around where we ride has them, and you get more power every where in the power band not just mid & top end like drag pipes, or if thats what you want go with Shearer or CPI.
  5. Ever since I got my Shee new back in February the guy at the dealer said the very first tank of gas was at 20:1 for break -in an he said after the first tank is gone to run 32:1, so I have run Yama-Lube 2R at 32:1 ever since and will continue to do so.
  6. Dude if you wanna know if its runnin lean or rich check your plugs and do a plug chop, the plugs can tell you everything you wanna know about your motor, if its real black and wet its rich if its white and burnt and dry its lean, you want a real light tan color then its perfect, I have never done a plug chop but its a real good way to tell you where your at jetting wise.
  7. #1 DON'T sell your shee!! But I think I know why your quad is doing that, I have heard on most Banshee's that when the clutch gets a lil use the parking brake some how messes with the idle and throttle response causing it to sputter and die, I think the T.O.R.S has something to do with that or if not it may be just your T.O.R.S by its self. Check your T.O.R.S and your parking brake cable and play with the clutch adjustment to see if it does anything. Back when I bought my new blaster back in 02 it did that til I removed the T.O.R.S and the parking brake. Just a thought.
  8. My YFZ had cams and had been timed to 450F specs, HMF full pipe it was jetted, I had a rev box , boyesen quickshot , K&N pro flow, that was all of the motor mods it had and it had stock gearing, My friends TRX 450R had a white bros pipe and a UNI pro flow, when he decided to have his motor re-built he had them put a high comp piston, cam, an his is geared different and I still outran him , both our bikes were the 04 models . His bike is fast but my YFZ was faster to me after riding both an how we compared in drag races the 450R just didnt have the top-end power like my YFZ did.
  9. If your gonna get a 450 I say get a YFZ because I owned one, It had alot of mods an it was never out ran an it never had any problems, but if you dont wanna get a YFZ I would say get a 450R becasue Honda is reliable and I rode my friends 450R and it wasnt as peppy as my YFZ an it didnt out run it but its a pretty quick bike and he hasnt had any problems wih it either.
  10. When I went to get my Shee back in February I called all of the local dealers an even the ones who were far away an they said there was no Banshee's left , but i went to a local one an they had the one I really wanted so I got it, an they said they werent gonna be able to get Banshee's anymore so I got the last one around here, and I would say no to letting other people ride your bike because its alot of money in the bike an your letting them use your gas , theres only one person I would let Ride my Shee because he has a banshee too and knows how to ride without breaking something or wrecking. Ya if they wanna ride so bad tell them to buy their own quad .
  11. Damn dude i'm gonna miss those Double D's.
  12. I say YFZ-450 because I had one that was fully modded out no big motor mods an with a full pipe, jet-kit, K&N pro flow, dirtbike cams, rev box and a few adjustments to the carb, lile quick shot an a fuel screw, an some other stuff, they dynoed my YFZ and it was at 50hp plus I ran with some modded banshee's an outran a few of them. I say YFZ because its the only other quad I would have besides a Banshee, that an it leaves my friends 450R in the dust everytime his 450R has a new motor , been ported & polished and cam, 13:1 hi-comp piston , and a white bros pipe, the people that built my YFZ did one hell of a job because I didnt have as many motor mods as him and I left him in the dust everytime we raced. But I traded in my YFZ to get a new Banshee. I say get a YFZ.
  13. I remember seeing that in an issue that had the older tests as an anniversary, but I have it where they did a shootout between the banshee, raptor & YFZ and it says YFZ 40HP, Banshee 38HP, Raptor 35HP, Dude your white 06 is nice, it should have 65HP to 68HP just guessing, I also have the issue back from 02 when they tested Mission Yamaha's modded Shee with aggressive dune port, T5's , K&N pods, and tors removed , new top-end, I think thats it an they had 58HP
  14. Dude its not your gas/oil pre-mix because your supposed to run a Banshee at 32:1 , its definately your jetting, as far as what you should jet it at I dont know, but its definately not your pre-mix ratio. Mine is a all stock 06 I run mine a 32:1.
  15. See the thing with DIRTWHEELS is that every April issue since 02 they always Photo-Shop something up and say is a new model "suposedly" coming out like when they did it for the first time in 02 i remember it was a "Honda 750EX" just stupid stuff to make you think, 4-stroke an the word Banshee shouldnt be used together when I first seen it when DIRTWHEELS came in the mail a few weeks ago it kinda insulted me because they had the nerve to use the S.E. colors on it an the fact that its a 4-stroke an they wanted to call it a Banshee. I think just my opinion though that when Yamaha quit making the Banshee its replacements were the YFZ-450 & Raptor 700R, I know slow replacements huh. I say this because I traded off my fully modded out YFZ-450 for a new Banshee I havent looked back since even though my Banshee is stock "just for now" its pretty fast an quick and honestly I really dont miss my YFZ-450 either. Just my opinion.
  16. Man i would say 32:1 just to be safe, but thats me. I run Yama-Lube 2R at 32:1 with 91 pump gas
  17. i've had my Shee for a month an after the first tank that came in the bike wich was really rich 20:1 or maybe it was 24:1 ( for beak-in), after the very first tank in the bike its been 91 pump gas mixed with Yamalube 2R at 32:1.
  18. Well if all your doing is just putting a new top end it should be $200 or less it all depends though, I had a brand new 04 YFZ 450 and never had to do the top end or anything but that was me, I took care of it and never abused it, i never had any problems with it , its all about how you take care of your stuff if you take care of it good enough it will last forever, I sold my mx modded 450 to get a shee and I wouldnt trade my shee for nothin. The top-end job should be pretty easy though or you can have a pro do it for a lil extra $ Heres one for you though my friend who has a 04 Honda 450R blew the motor up it was not re-useable so he had to get a new motor and it cost about $2000 or a lil more, My other friend who has a Banshee screwed his motor up and for the new motor, parts and labor and porting it was only $1500, This other guy I know who had a YFZ like mine but abused the hell outta it and didnt take care of it spent like $3000 buying new EVERYTHING.
  19. Well i'm 17 and ride my Shee every time I get the chance, even though i've only had mine for a week or so , this week its in the upper 60's an low to mid 70's so I rode yesterday and an today and i'm sure i'll ride everyday this week after school.
  20. I say get Fatty's because I have rode a Shee with Gnarly's and I have rode one with Fatty's, see with Gnarly's it hits hard from the bottom but when you get into the top-end it falls off, where as Fatty's have alot of low-end pull hard through the mid and still have enough top-end to have fun on. Between Fatty's or Gnarly's I say get Fatty's.
  21. So is what your saying is in the summer it wont dilute/seperate, but in the winter when its cold it wont mix together right an blend properly which is what causes it to dilute/seperate.
  22. I just got my banshee a few days ago and the guy at the dealership said the first tank is mixed a 20:1 really rich for the break in, after I run that tank out he said to run yama-lube 2R with 91 pump gas @ 32:1 , 91 is the highest octane you can buy at the pump here, I though about KLOTZ or Maxima but he said it would dilute an wouldnt stay mixed wich would cause a blown top-end, so im gonna stick with yama-lube for now. He said though that KLOTZ an Maxima are good oils he said if I was gonna use those I need to run out what is put in my tank that day.
  23. Ya man thanks for the advice, and yes its the yellow and black one, even though ive only rode it twice I have fallen in love with everything on that bike its awesome even for a stock bike
  24. Hey everybody I already traded the bike and got a new 06 Banshee, thanks for the intrest everybody. Bike is SOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
