Dont forget about the T-Rex kits an the twister kits too.
-
damn really when I bought my shee brand new last year the throttle was easy an one year later its still easy.
-
If your gonna keep your stock crank an since your are getting it ported you definitely need to have it trued an welded. I though to have the crank trued an welded you had to split the cases to get the crank out, if that is the case you might as well spend the extra $$$$$ to get a 4Mil an have the cylinders ported for that, idk its what ever your building its all your choice when it comes down to it.
-
PRO- easier to work on, alot simpler than 2 carbs, an low end an mid range. CON- loose top end power, banshee was designed to run on 2 carbs so it takes away top-end power. but ya its your choice.
-
I havnt heard that one, I know that if your spark plug comes out on one side it will lean it out. do a compression test an see how bad your motor is. It is possible that it leaned out because of an exhasut leak.
-
Ya but he swears it makes his shee run peppy-er, I would rather do that because you really dont know what your getting at the pump it could be re-badged 87 you shouldnt have to run race fuel until you go to 19cc domes or at least thats what I have been told.
-
Because he has some light porting done an the timing set at +4, he mixes 50/50 93 pump gas an 108 with yama-lube at 32:1. To give it a little more peppyness an to take advantage of other mods, idk if this is right he has 20cc domes im pretty sure he said he ad 150 psi in each cylinder.
-
The reason I said between 50 an 59 is because my best friend his shee has an extremely light/mild port, runnin fmf fattys, +4 timing, new top-end with wiseco pistons, K&N intake, v-force reeds, cool-head 20cc domes an he runs race fuel, maybe has a few other little things but anyways his shee dynoed 55hp on the dyno, ya I used to type really slow but now for some reason I can type fast.
-
Ya like posted above there will never really be any clear answer because there are so many factors that go into determining actual real number horsepower, it may not make sense but everyones banshee will run different one guys mods an bike will be totally different from the next but im gonna guess here, you prolly have between 50 an 59
-
Ya WTF I like IM'ing everyone for quick answers an just to b.s with everybody. dont forget the funny stuff everyone talks about on there too. Oh ya what also happend to the list that shows who are all the members that are online now too?

e-bay 135 mph banshee , yeah right
BansheeRider71 replied to banshee30705's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Idk maybe the purple powerbands an the boost bottle, im thinkin hes got some sort of secret sticker that give you like an instant 20hp,lol jkjk 135mph my ass did anybody else wonder how he kick starts that thing, lookes like a shifter out of a car,lol I got the new march 08 of dirtwheels today an they had a fast banshee in the over the bars section its a drag bike an the best ET was 10.80 a 115MPH in the QUARTER MILE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
If your gonna race I say YFZ, the technology is there an so is the handling, I used to own one an because I wasnt gonna race it I traded it in on a new Banshee, mine was mx ready all I really did was all around ride with it an it got boring so I got the shee instead. YFZ for the track an Banshee for anything else. You can race the 450 in the 250 class (much more competitive), Banshee is an open class quad.
-
Ya the quality is much better with toomey they have some pretty good chrome. ya like bobman13 said if later down the road you decide to get your motor ported the T-5's love porting an the T-5's are very responsive to mods.
-
I think you will be more than happy with T-5's, especially if you go duning and plan on drag racing people, you will love the top-end, as far as put putting with your girl I still think its possible even with toomeys,
-
Im gonna try to make the L.S ride hell I live 6 hours away it will be my first time goin to the dunes I graduate high school I think the week after so im pretty sure i'll be able to make it.
-
CPI inframes small bore. keep in mind that with just basic bolt ons an CPI pipes its all gonna be all mid-range an top-end power no low end what so ever but if thats what you want go for it, they also respond very well to porting so if you get your motor ported later on down the road you will be even more impressed with those pipes, they respond very well.
-
CPI is the way to go then, dont go through cpi racing go through www.cascade-innovation.com you get better chrome if you order through them.
-
I think Cobra makes an exhaust system for it so you could try that.
-
Well idk if this will work but you could buy 2 300EX head pipes an if you have acess to a bender, cut off saw an a welder and if you cant weld have some one who can cut an bend an wled it up to custom fit your application,
-
When you think of a Yamaha Banshee do you honeslty think about a quiet, timid quad.... hell no, you think of fast, loud an screaming 2-stroke. Like with piped Raptor 700's an 450's they are loud, its great when your on a Shee with loud pipes an pull up next to a 4-stroke an when you rev yours they turn an look especially when your pulling away from them an throwing dirt on them in the process. I personally think the idea of taking your silencers off is silly but if csrmel wants to do that let him he has his preference an everyone else has thier own too. I agree though that if your gonna ride public places an dunes an other places where sound laws are enforced find a way to quiet your exhaust system, it just gives hippies another reason to bitch, its enough they did away with the shee here in America.
-
Damn $600 for a head pipe, even if it was for the whole exhaust system thats alot, I payed like $500 for a full titanium HMF exhaust when I had my YFZ 450, $539 buys a brand new chrome set of Toomey T-5's for a Banshee. I would search ebay, lol, you can find anything on there.

Hell ya man sounds good at least you dont have to have surgery an that means the sooner you can be out on the Shee. -
I havnt heard anything bad about them, they are comparable to FMF an from what people say I heard they are really torqey an have a good low end punch an pull nice up top too.
-
Toomey's, CPI's, Shearers, Rocket pipes. all are loud
