  1. Checking your reeds is an easy task, like stated before take your air box off an take your carbs off an take out those 8 allen screws an pull them out an there you have it. You may get a little gass on you from taking the carbs off but its no big deal.
  2. Well said, so its clear we cant compare banshees to ricers anymore ok, lol
  3. I would go easy on it the first tank of gas but try to go through all of the gears, then the second tank do the same but give it a little more throttle an the third tank you should be able to ride it like normal. Thats how my best friend broke in his, when I bought mine new last year I did a mix between the heat cycles an the discrpition I gave . As far as Ams-Oil idk I have never run it and I probably wont run it I couldnt live with myself mixing it anything diferent from 32:1.
  4. The Shee runs on pre-mix as the Mazda RX7 & RX8 dont, damn I didnt know they didnt have cams, arnt they some sort of rotary engine?
  5. No yall have it all wrong a Banshee cant be a ricer because its a 2-stroke, ricers have DOHC motors or at least have a cam, lol.
  6. I run them, Toomey has been around since the 80's an has been making pipes for the RZ/Banshee since them they specialize in making pipes for that motor their products are great. They will prolly be a little different from T-5's & T-6's but still a hell of a lot better than stock, Im gettin T-5's.
  7. ya got +4 on the timing an as far as domes if I were you I would go 21cc or 20cc, the lower the number the higher compression an the higher compression means higher octane needed to run the motor, I think you could get away with pump gas with the 20cc domes or just mix a little race fuel in with your 93 pump gas any lower than 20cc domes needs race fuel.
  8. See the thing with T-6's is they are great if all your gonna do is basic bolt on parts,reeds,cool-head,timing...ect.. they have a hair more low-end compared to T-5's , T-5's are better if later on down the road your gonna get the motor ported an get bigger carbs other than that T-5's an T-6's are pretty much the same thing other than T-6's have a little bit different bend to them. I say T-5's, thats what I plan on buying, FMF fattys are good my best friend has them on a ported motor an they work great have a good low-end hit but they dont pull as long on the top-end as lets say T-5's they fall off sooner an dont continue to pull as long, if your gonna get FMF get the SST's, an Pro-Circuit I have seen them on dirtbikes an they work good, they are comparable to FMF, around where I ride everyone has Toomeys FMFs or CPIs I cant really say anything on Pro-Circuit as I have never seen a shee with them on it up close an have never rode a shee with them on it either.
  9. Damn 7 years on a top-end that shit is crazy, at least you stomped a ricer, lol.
  10. But ya missing gears like that will eventually mess up the shift fork if he is abusing the tranny like that it will happen sooner not later. When ever you get ready to order some parts in the future you should look into the shift star mod, it will make shifting buttery smooth, because banshees are know to have notchy trannys.
  11. Ya like Loco said VF3's all the way.
  12. Damn really? I was thinkin later down the road I might actually change from yama-lube 2R to Klotz or Maxima 927. Damn I didnt think changing to a different oil would make that much difference.
  13. you could try moto-tassinari, the company that manufactures them. If I were you though just order them from Jeff at F.A.S.T. hes prolly alot cheaper than ordering them direct from the company.
  14. well, after it makes those awful grinding sounds he should prolly change the tranny oil an see if there are any metal chunks or shavings in there, if it always misses 2nd gear there is definitley a problem there.
  15. I was wondering the same thing, but my best friend he gets his from here in okmulgee at collins motorsports, they got TRACK-TECH 110 or 111 in a 5 gallon can for $50 then down the highway a little bit at B&B small engine they have the same thing for the same price too,
  16. you seriously cant go wrong with black, it would really accent everything else.
  17. Last year when I bought my 06 brand new, I did the heat cycles an after the 3rd or 4th tank I dont remember the dealership told me to change the tranny oil, I did that, the very first tank of gas in the bike when you buy it is like mixed at 20:1 thats really rich, second tank I started doing 32:1 with 93 pump gas an yama-lube 2R. It all worked out good.
  18. Hell ya sounds like you got a pretty much set-up bike, ya the HQ is a great site, not only is it gonna be a fun quad its also gonna be fast too.
  19. ya those rubber tabs have to come off for it to mount up flush like its supposed to, when I put v-force reeds on my blaster I had to do the same thing, mine came with a little instruction card that says to cut the tabs off, I used a mini hack saw an it worked fine, when you cut thought try to make it even so it will mount up better.
  20. man those bikes are nice, but lets be practical, having all of those mods an still retaining low-end its possible but damn, I guess I see what you are saying instead of feeling the powerband later on the bike would always be in the power band an still have a killer top-end, if that made any sense, I think if it came down to it I would rather have pro-circuits than paul turners on my shee IMO, though im not really a big fan of low-end, I head pro-circuits are similar to T-5s just dont pull as hard on the top-end.
  21. have fun with the build an new horespower, as far as where to order a new set you might actually have to order from pro-circuit directly.
  22. Those are badass, Im gonna buy some black ones with some new works shocks, Im gonna get +2+1, also im gonna buy a new lonestar axle when I do the front end, but those are badass an they look good on the shee.
  23. See I have havnt heard anything bad about pro-circuit but if your wanting a useable pipe for just all around riding conditions with a little top-end I would go with the FMF Fatty's, I have heard the pro-circuits are more torquier and pull harder than the FMF Fatty's , the pro circuits are close to the FMF SST's but compared to Toomey T-5's the T-5's hit harder an pull harder up top. They are all really close in performance, but for me an my riding style the T-5's suit me better, with what kind of discription you gave us I would recomend the Fatty's or SST's.
  24. It wont kill your top-end power totally but it will affect it, if your looking for a good all around pipe, like some low-end, mid-range, an still an ok top-end power delivery, you should look into FMF Fatty's or SST's they are good all around pipes as my best friend has them on his shee an they have decent low end an still pull up through the top-end, if your wanting a little less low end an want a harder hitting top-end then you should look into toomey T-5's.
