in what section of walmart is this banshee typically located? i wouldnt mind going by to see what it is like.

the stock pipes are ok for low rpm technical stuff. they are certainly better than a set of shearers or cpi's for this situation. my point is that you need the right pipe for the right conditions. you sound like a great canidate for a motofast 2:1 pipe. to complement the pipe take youre stock head off and get it rechambered for 93 octane, and advance the timing a few degrees by slotting the stock timing plate with a hand file. the head and timing will help out greatly with low end power. with this combo you should have all the low end you want, decent midrange, but the top end will suffer. however you dont seem to be too worried about top end. for the type of riding you seem to do, it seems you can scarifice top end without hurting anything.

i really hope i get a cool head and not a box if rocks. the tracking number he gave me for ups shows a 7lb box being shipped to me. i guess i dont understand how he could get me a tacking number so soon. i know you can get a ups account online for that stuff but how did he know i bought it now sence the time i bought it now is a variable unless he constantly checking his emails over and over again with nothing better to do? i think it was listed for about 15 minutes before i got it. at the time i bid the page view counter said no one had even seen the auction yet.

ok, so i did an ebay search on "banshee head" and came up with this. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...TRK%3AMEWN%3AIT a real new pro design cool head complete with orings, domes, studs with a buy it now for $50? i couldnt pass it up. hell it costs more than that just to get a stock banshee head recut. i looked over the seller feedback and decided that although the feedback score was low, he did have 100% positives, and he is a verified paypal member. so i bought it now. about 15 minutes later i got a tracking conformation number emailed to me. damn thats quick. im starting to get suspicous at this point. an hour or so later i get a notice from paypal that the seller is refunding my $10 shipping money because the head includes free shipping. what the hell? can this deal get any better? right in the auction it states that the shipping price is additional and te calculated cost came up to a bit over $10. so according to the auction the head doesnt include free shipping. so why is he refunding my shipping? im starting to think maybe hes going to ship me a box of rocks or something. this whole thing just seems funny now.

go after him. hes stalling for time. he knows as well as everyone else that you cant file a claim on a shipment you cant prove you made, but he just wants to stall for time. in this case, the longer he can stall the better his chances are of keeping the money and the parts. how did you pay? if through paypal, file a claim NOW and get youre money back.

theres nothing inherintly "wrong" with paypal. i have about 400 transactions through paypal and havent got scammed once. as a seller i have had people try to say i shipped them the wrong item, etc. but paypals investigation dept did a good job and resolved the situation. although it took a while, like 2 months i think. paypal is generally pretty safe. i bought honda CRV tyre cover through paypal once and the seller shipped me one with a rip in it. i let paypal know it was ripped and they refunded my money and the seller apologised.

id take the crank out and have new bearings put on it. while youre at it replace the main seals. it shouldnt cost too much money if you buy the bearings online and take them to a machine shop. any good machine shop should be able to rebuild the crank. there isnt anything special about a banshee crank compared to any other brand. its just got an extra rod thats all.

the only banshees that would probably be shown are ones with the fenders cut off and billet chain guards. i guarantee that a nice woods banshee with full fenders would never make it to be quad of the month.

bigred, ive yet to use a tool other than my fingers to tighten my drain plug. the rubber washer does a real good job at sealing things up. no leaks.

irs is the future of all quads. you guys remember years ago when disc brakes, water cooling and electronic ignition were just comming out? everyone was like "omg this sucks". and now its almost the standard for alot of applications. i can remember very clearly alot of people didnt want such things as electronic ignition because they were ignorant and didnt know how simple it actually was. hell i think i remember some people calling them "ignition computers".

dont tighten the drainplugs down hard. they are under no pressure. all that is needed is to have them finger tight.

years ago i had a ghetto dirtbike and the silencer fell out of the exhaust one day. i wasnt able to find it and the dealer wanted my first born in exchange for a new one. long story short i made my own with a small piece of wire mesh that i wrapped around a broom handle to make it into a tube. it actually worked pretty good.

no. besides not having the right air/fuel ratio. (but i guess you could put large alchohol type jets in to make it stoich) diesel is really low in octane, probably around 20-30 octane. youre banshee would ping its self to death just idling. there is no way you could ever run a banshee on diesel.

im pretty sure the stock banshee has no limiter. i think what happens is the exahust gets out of its efficency zone and the engine runs out of breath. i do know some banshees have limiters (maybe aftermarket?) because ive got a video of a banshee racing a mustang and when the banshee takes off he revs too high in first and you very clearly hear the limiter kick in. i

i usually leave mine on if im going to be riding it within a week or so. if its going to be longer than a week i turn it to off and run it out of gas, then pull the choke and run it untill it stalls again. i figure the banshee carsb are finicky about old fuel, deposits, etc, so i dont want fuel sitting in the carbs making varnish and deposits.

just a random thought however it you want to add a bit more cooling to the head see if you can ditch the stepped pyramid look and try to machine in some real surface area, like fins on an aircooled engine.
