ive often wondered what kind of power can me made while still using the stock pipes. would be fun to make a real sleeper with a stock head and stock pipes but slap in a 4mm stroker and a dune port. i wonder what it would be like.... nobosy would see that comming, thats for sure.

you cut too much off the head. way too much. you need a new head or you need someone to rechamber youre existing head.

parts will be around forever. look at old 4 and 3 wheelers. they still got parts kicking around.

the banshee rollers use only 1 bearing for each wheel. using dual bearing stake wheels would probably be an improvment. plus you can probably get a set of wheels and good bearings for cheap.

if the head has already been cut once before than you need to check the squish before getting it cut again. you need a baseline to start with for measurments.

.060 is too much without re cutting the chambers for proper squish. im reasonably sure the stock head and headgasket and engine has around a .075 squish. you would usually want to be around .035 to .045 squish for gasoline. i would say cut .035 off the head to bring the squish back down to around .040 and then check the compression to determine what octane fuel you require. im no expert on any of this but i personally wouldnt go over .035 on a head cut without re cutting the squish. running the squish too tight seems like a bad idea.

the price of the ps3 counts me out. i got a used ps2 some years ago with a couple games and 3 controllers for $50. im still using it today. ill wait on the ps3 for atleast a year and grab a used one off ebay for $200. $600 for a new ps3? fuck that, thats 1 or maybe 2 monthly payments on a REAL car or motorcycle.

if you need convencing that you should get a banshee over something else than you dont need a banshee. im not going to sit here and stick up for banshee and try to convence you to buy one. if you dont get one thats youre problem, not mine. i knew i needed a banshee, i got one. is that simple.

i did the timing advance this weekend. i forgot my didital camera though and my flip phone camera wouldnt take good enough pics. but i will say that +4 timing REALLY wakes up the bottom end. like wow, every banshee should come like that from the factory. to give you an idea of what it did for the low end, just cruising around the streets i kept trying to shift into 7th gear. problem is no banshee has a 7th gear! the +4 makes 6th pull like 5th, and 5th pull like 4th. so it kept fooling me into thinking i was in a lower gear than i really was. i also cut 3 loops off of each carb return spring. another nice improvment. no more sore thumb!

im not on the powersports network. i did take the filter and mesh out to have a look in the airbox. i didnt see any rubber gasket around the mesh or anything that looked removable for that matter. can ya elaborate? yamaha dealer was most unhelpfull. all they wanted to do was sell me some oil and sparkplugs.

at sea level, can one run 4 degrees advanced timing AND 21cc domes on 93 pump gas or is this cutting it too close for comfort?

i just bought a raptor 80 the other day for my 9 and 7 year old nephiew and neice to tool around on. on yamahas website they mention a removable intake restrictor that can be removed to gain more power. i pulled the air filter out and i couldnt see any restrictor. anyone have a clue where it is?
