  1. im not much into bolt on things. im not wanting to go into why because itll start a fight, but lets just say i want to stick to mods which make a big difference.
  2. the top end is only 4 months old, so i think its pretty fresh. on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being stock poting, where does a dune port fit in? 5-6? thanks.
  3. so let me make a recap on this thread, and please anyone tell me if im wrong. a cub cylinder had a more agressive port right out of the box than most stock cylinders which have also been posted. some would even say a cub is drag ported right out of the box. a cub cylinder is not really suited for trail riding or just general mucking around becuase of how high in the rpm range it needs to be revved before it makes power. the reason i say this is because i do alot of woods and dunes riding in alot of places where i am speed limited by things like tree stumps and really sharp turns. but i also so dome drag racing now and then on the straightaways against other 4 wheelers and somtimes cars. i also take little kids on rides like 6 -10 year olds and just putt in 3rd to 4th gear around the trails and hills. when i have a kid onboard i dont even get the engine into its powerband. dont want to throw them off the side of i turn too quick. i would say 60% of my riding is technical riding where i cant go very fast because of obsticles. 30% is wide open drag racing, and 10% is slow riding with a 9 year old sitting in front of me. i would like some extra power for when i am drag racing or in the open areas where i am free to haul ass. so, would a cub be a good cylinder for me? or should i just get the stockers ported? i realise the cub isnt going to help me in the woods because im limited not by power ut by obsticles. but is a cub going to take away from my trail riding fun?
  4. thats simply not true. lets take klotz benol for example. they dont know what engine you rer using the oil in. how do they know if youre using the oil in a weed wacker or a drag quad? they simnply dont. so they list a general guide on the back of their bittle. yamaha on the other hand, knows how much premix is nessassary for proper lubrication of their banshee. and because of this they state tat you need to to run a really high mix ratio, unless youre using a good oil, when you can run a little bit lower mix ratio, but it still needs to be relatively high for the banshee. klots, amsoil, mobil, etc, dont know what engine their oil is going into. only the engine maker knows what permix ratio to use, and thats why yamaha says 25:1. most permix oil bottles even say to follow the engine makers guidelines for permix ratios. look if you guys want to run 40:1 or 100:1 and burn youre motors up in a couple seasons then thats youre prolem, not mine, and not yamahas problem wither.
  5. i know it sucks but you really need to replace that gasket.
  6. keep the t5's but put a hush kit on it.
  7. looks like a glorified steering wheel puller.
  8. there is actually goggles that you can buy with youre own perscription built into the lens, so that you dont need to wear glasses when riding. its similar to scuba diving head gear. there is company who makes perscription built in for that too. i have poor vision in 1 eye. my eye doc says that it causes me to see monocouarly, meaning i dont have any depth perception. maybe thats why i ride so crazy. cause i dont know how far away things are.
  9. i have slept on top of my banshee. if that is not hard core i do not know what is.
  10. i was awalys under the impression that if you dont add a spacer plate it will effect youre port timing in a legative wayt and lead to potential lost power? i thought that if you are going with stroker you need to get 1 of 3 things done. 1. spacer plate 2. get the cyls reported to match the piston's top when at tdc AND bdc and also run cut domes. 3. use a stroker cyl, i think theres a special cub cyl for each mill of stroke? am i right, wrong, crazy? someones got to make sence of this.
  11. ill bring my slide in truck camper with built in hot shower. its got a/c, twin beds, stove, etc...
  12. lmao @ cookie monster eyes. thats some funny shit.
  13. ill bring my banshee, my dad will bring his raptor. a friend of mine will bring probably 2-3 banshees and a warrior for his friends. another friend of mine will bring a quadzilla. we just need to know the date and time and some good directions, phone numbers of you guys so we can meet up, etc. so what do you do when you go up there, do you camp out for a weekend or like how does this all wpork? ive never been to ocala before, but ive awalys wanted to go.
  14. dude hell yeah im up for that. but i need to know whats involved with ocala rules, regulations and registrations to see if im legal or not. ive been wanting to go to ocala for a long time. my dad would probably come too. hes got a raptor and can haul some ass for bein 60.
  15. i think he said he normally goes off 41. we both live up here in palm beach though. about 30 minutes from moroso. where ya movin to?
  16. thats exactly what im going to do, only im using uni filters and aluminum tube. thats why i needed to know the diameter, so i can get the right filter and tube. thanks.
  17. i need to know the outside diameter of the 2 airbox ports which lead to the carb boots? i would check this myself but my banshee is 200 miles away and i wont be able to get to it for atleast a month. thanks.
  18. yeah man. i pratically nutted on the gas tank after the first pull. it was bliss. hey chase, this guy drags in miami maybe its close to where you live. we should all meet up one day and go to the drags. he said theres lots of banshee drag racing down there.
  19. a guy i just became friends with earlier in the week told me he has a drag banshee so today i went over to try it out on the street. all i can say is wow. that things crazy. he said its stroked 10 mill, v force cages, flat slide carbs, drag ported, cpi pipes, lock out, long swing arm, etc. basically a drag banshee. it was freakin crazy. i dont know how fast i was going but i know it took over a city block to stop and turn around. i need to buy a stroker kit. i couldnt believe how hard it pulled. it must have been atleast twice as fast as my banshee, probably 3x as fast.
  20. i dont have a picture, but ebay has led's for $6 or so a piece. they are a direct replacement and eliminate the dimming problem of the headlights when you tap the brakes.
  21. ive seen alot of evidence from sled forums of amsoil causing rust on the insides of the engine during the off season so i tend to stay away from that brand. i run castrol grand prix 2 stroke bike oil. its 2.20 a quart at walmart, and i mix it at 25:1 which is what the banshee factory manual says to mix at.
  22. my dads got a 16 foot jet boat with a v8 ford in it. sorry dont know of any forums though.
  23. my and a couple friends have been really getting into watching ufc. i think shamrock has the anger and the will to win, but ortiz has the knowledge to know how to beat him and embarass him in the process. ortiz will use shamrocks anger against him. you can see it in his eyes when they have confrontations. ortiz WANTS shamrock to be angry. ortiz seems more level headded and will probably approach the fight as if it was a math problem in school that he needs to figure out. where as shamrock is going in swinging and christmastree the answers and hope for the best. whatever the outcome, you know its going to be a good fight. these guys just flat out dont like anything about each other. they dont like their stile of coaching, their attitudes, etc.
  24. does wiseco still sell direct to customers? it was years ago i bought a set of pistons and rings direct from wiseco. the tech i talked to said in the future when i need to freshen up the top end i could call them up and get a set of rings really cheap. see if you can find wiseco's 800 number on their website and try calling them directly.
