  1. dont be afraid of a little blue on the pipes. i realise that youre pipes are not toomey but even toomey says that a little blue on the pipes is OK.
  2. these are all reasons why i think it is not a wise choice to remove tors. it can save youre ass when you least expect it. besides, its not a complex system. it only weigh a few lbs, and if a microswitch or something fails you just unhook the black box and keep on going.
  3. t5's can fetch some dcent money if you clean them up. i bought a set for $260 on ebay that were very nice and even included the toomey hush kit.
  4. you should make some stickers which say "warning: warning stickers suck. blah blah blah" to fit over the warning plates.
  5. i got some silicone yamaha blue lines from a local motorcycle performance shop.
  6. im a tall guy too. im wondering how hard is it to install a +2 stem?
  7. here it is. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1...strana+backflip how long is it going to take before someone on a quad does a double?
  8. the 55 gallons of methanol isnt all that expensive, i think it was a little over $3 a gallon. what i meant by "expensive" is that a banshee consumes nearly 2x as much compared to gas, so its theoretically double the inital $3/gallon cost.
  9. a little moisture in youre gastank isnt a bad thing. infact if you come over ill be glad to take a piss in youre tank.
  10. dude i think the chat room makes a banshee ring tone each time you go in. see if you can yank that.
  11. alot of these big turbo motors are starting to incorporate lag reducing features like severly delayed ignition timing at idle, similar to a "bang bang" system where the ignition at idle is delayed so much that the explosion is still happening while the exhaust valve is starting to open. this excess combustion pressure gets thrown right into the turbine, creating massive airflow and keeping that turbo spooled up. ive seen some guys injecting nitrous and fuel right into the exhaust between the engine and the turbo. theory is that the continous explosion in the manifold keeps that turbo spooled up even when youre at idle. such systems have little to no turbo lag whatsoever. less lag than a supercharger and more power to boot. sounds like a win-win to me. a friend of mine has a turbo 3 rotor rx7 that he drag races. im not going to bore ya with the details but hes got a t-4 turbo off a mack truck on that thing and he can get that turbo spooled up to 30psi while hes waiting at the starting line for the trees to turn green. when he launches hes pushing 30psi and that car just plain gets. hows that for turbo lag? when hes sitting there at the line his exhaust is popping and backfiring from the rev limiter so loud that it sounds and feels like a bomb going off. every 1-3 seconds is just goes bang really loud. you can feel the shockwave of each bomb explosion way out in the stands. the other thing is, pound for pound a turbo will give you more power with less weight than a supercharger typically will. by a good ammount too. lets say you take any 2 identical engines and you add a properly sized turbo and super to each 1 and place a boost restriction of 10lbs on each engine. assuming that each forced induction system was setup properly, the turbo engine would typically show significantly more power over a broader rpm range and still weigh less. this is because a properly sized and setup turbo system is vastly more efficent than a supercharger.
  12. contrary to popular belief, fuel and water wont mix, and the water will be right down at the very bottom of the drum. dont worry about it too much. just dont suck up fuel from the very bottom of the drum. when the drum is low on fuel then pump it all, water included, into a couple of gas cans. you can then work the water out of the gas via slowly pouring the gas out and frequently checking inside the gas can with a light untill you see the water level.
  13. calling it quits after only 2 hours? what are they diabetic? i might take a 15 min break after 2 hours but when i go out riding i go for the long haul. ive been known to ride for 12 hours at a time only stopping for restroom, lunch, dinner, water, etc. i bring gallon of gas and gallon of water right on the banshee so i can go really far out in the trails and not worry about getting lost.
  14. nothing wrong with 20:1 if youre jetted properly. 20:1 and 25:1 is the factory spec, afterall guys.
  15. ive sort of been toying with the idea of converting to alchy and converting my shee to run off it. i found a place that will cut me a great deal if i buy 55 gallon drum of it. but this stuff is expensive and id like to know the feasibility of dealing with the stuff before i nut up and actually do it. so as a general guideline, how long would alchy store in a sealed drum kept in the dark in a outdoor shed that probably gets to 120 degrees during the middle of the day?
  16. i dont think its as far off as you think. the only real disadvantage to irs is the added weight of dual shocks/springs/cv's/ barkes etc. once they figure out how to get the weight down without driving up the cost much you wont see any more straight axles except on low end machines. from a performance, handling, traction, braking perspective irs is decades ahead. maybe drag racing is where straight axles would awalys be better ill surely admit that, but there isnt a single 4 wheeler made from the factory which is strictly for dragging. oems cater to the masses and short of irs and fuel injection, the 4 wheeler market has sort of been stagnant as far as innovation goes.
  17. i use to run benol but its too expensive. i finally did some calculations and found out that after i factor in the high cost of benol versus castrol grand prix 2 stroke oil from walmart for $2.30/quart, over a span of 7 years the money i save by running the cheap castrol would pay for a pair of new pistons with rings and a bore job for 2 cylinders. so will the benol protect the engine by a significantly better ammount that i could recoup the cost of pistons and bore job? i didnt think so. i run the cheapie oil now, and mix it at factory spec, 25:1. therefore, for me atleast, benol is too cost prohibitive. but i really loved the stuff. man it smelled great. everyone who rode with me loved to ride behind me. the stuff smells like youre running with a blown headgasket and burning up glycol. its just an aewsome smell. i keep a pint of it around for when i go riding at high profile areas. when youre running benol, everyone becomes youre friend.i have even seen a few 4 strokes running benol at 100:1 just for the yummy smell. ive had guys flag me down and ask me to rev my exhaust at their camp site on half choke just to flood the area with that erotic smell. i seen one dude even pour an ounce every 15 mins into his campfire.
  18. straight axles are vintage. one day they will be gone like drum brakes and carburettors. like it or leave it but the days of straight axles are numbered.
  19. for the slower trails i installed 4 120mm fans on the front of my raidator. i wired them up so they they run in place of the low beam light switch. shit stays as cool as i want it to be. wont overheat even when stationary. i did lose my low beams but i never used them anyways.
  20. i would think it would have to be something terrible like posting pictures of underage porn, or being openly racist, or maybe hacking the site to mess it up. i dont think you can be banned for run of the mill arguements/insults/whatever.
  21. my stock toomey pipes have a different Od than my stock toomey stingers. how do i get a hose with 2 different inner diameter ends?
  22. so he gets arrested over in cali for drunk driving. the real bombshell is he totally went off on the officers with anti jew slurs and such. he said the jews are responsible for everything wrong in the world. haha . alcohol brings out the reality in people. i wonder how his pr guys are going to spin this one? how does a man who is rich enough to own his own church get tagged for something as easly preventitive as drunk driving? its not like he doesnt have the money to hire a cabby, or a limo, or a thousand limos and a 747. his poor decision to save a few bucks is now costing him dearly. and he blames the jews for being stingy and cheap . haha.
  23. you need to remove the frnder brace. also grease or wd40 the orings before installing them. my toomeys bolted right up, but the pipe to stinger clamp awalys leaks. what a piece of shit. youd figure when buying some expensive ass pipes you could get a really good coupler but they dont include anything. they want you tyo use the stock ones which dont even fit because the stinger and pipe are each 2 different diamaters.
  24. ive heard the arguement that people cut the fenders so they can see how their tyres are hooking up etc. i think thats bs. who has the time to look behind you at youre rears when youre in the middle of a race? besides, anyone who knows what their doing can "feel" the tyres hook up. you dont need to see something. you can sence it by the feel and sound and throttle. ive heard the arguement for wind resistance too.well maybe if all you do if drag race then cutting ur fenders makes sence.... but most people dont strictly drag and ur body and helmet probably have more wind resistance than the fenders. i dont see people lopping their limbs off. the #1 reason people cut the fenders. survey says! it makes you feel cool. all the cool guys have cut fenders. so people emulate what they idolise and cut their fenders off too. ive seen cut fenders on everything including 50cc chinese 4 wheelers. does anyone here really believe a 50cc 4 wheeler is going to gain ANYTHING from cut fenders? nah! its all about being part of the "in crowd". its ok if you guys cut yer fenders. but ill keep mine stock. i actually wish they were even wider and closer to the ground.
