  1. Bump- still looking for the intake/carb set-up should anyone run across one.
  2. nope, no baffle of any kind. it's a straight through deal. a perforated straight through core wrapped with packing in an aluminum body. not much you can do with them. other then the stock system the only other "quiet" mufflers that I know of that you can get are: 1. the Hush kit for Toomeys, 2. the Pro Circuit Spark Arrester type and 296's which are designed to meet USFS guidelines for noise and emissions(spark arresters), and in your case, FMF's TurbineCore 2's and TurbineCore 2 Q's, which supposably use a "tubine dampening separator" (ie, baffles) to also be designed to meet USFS guidelines for noise and emissions(spark arresters) and bring them down to about 96dB. I got a set of Fattys and TC2 Q's coming this week for my '06. real curious to see how the TC2 Q's sound.
  3. their not likely to get any quieter than they are if you've repacked them. Powercore's and then the PC2's were designed for closed course usage where sound levels weren't as much an issue up until the last several years, when noise levels have become a real hot button for complaints. they were designed to be more free-flowing than stock exhaust, and as a result much louder.
  4. Been seeing a bunch of threads and comments over the last week or so on other boards on the "New Banshee", that Yamaha is "possibly" working on. for next year. From the rumors I've been seeing, concensus says it will use a power plant the same or very closely based off the Phazer FX engine. http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/products...507/0/home.aspx A 500 twin w/ fuel injection..........Hmmm....... Just wouldn't be the same. but it might be interesting to see how it would run.
  5. Clutch perch= Clutch lever mounting bracket.
  6. means that your attaching too many or the pics are too large, try shrinking them in Paint to between 5-600 pixels wide.
  7. nope, just put a 2 into 1 setup on the blue one in my sig and tool out the p-brake crap at the same time and some missed un-hooking the connector for the P-brake switch. took me a week of on-off work checking/ tuning/cleaning/reconnecting everything and of swapping back and forth the stock intake and the 2 into 1 before I noticed the one plug still hooked up. DOH!!!!!
  8. there are 5 plug you need to dis-connect. 1 at the TORS itself(the little 1x1x1 black box by the coil) 2 at the carb caps( one on each one) 1 from the throttle housing & 1 at the clutch perch (just follow the wires down from them to the connectors) then just tape all the connectors up real good til either you decide to get the eliminator kit and chop out the extra wires OR just leave them that way like I did. I also packed the connectors w/ dilectric grease before I taped them up to keep them from corrodeing should I ever need to reconnect them(not likely, but ya never know)
  9. Here's a whole list I put together for my buddy Mike's website. http://www.xcbob.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=285 that should help.
  10. thanks for the info. ordered it from service honda this afternoon before I went to work anyway. maybe I'll luck out and thy will get some in sooner than expected. but for now I'll put the old man to work, and have him try to fix the old one. the original one isn't broken, just has a gouge worn into it that looks like someone notched it w/ a grinder.
  11. Stock carbs are set w/ #25 pilots #200 mains clip at center( or 3rd) notch
  12. Since I'm striking out on all my usual sources for honda parts I figured I try a long shot here since a few of ya have or had R's and might have something lying around yet. need an actuator arm for my R(the rod that goes down into the engine that the cable hooks to that turns to move the push rod for the clutch.), old one is toast. replaced the whole clutch assembly( new cable, new push rod w/ update kit, full Hinson assembly, new plates and springs, the whole 9 yards.) and the actuator rod has a big notch worn right out of it. I can get it from Service Honda but gonna take 2 weeks, let me know what you got. Thanks.
  13. Cascade, the original. http://www.cascadeinnovations.net/ but there are a bunch of places that will grind your stock one for you. I'll see if I still have a few of the links to them yet.
  14. Been done before. My father still tells stories of some old dude that used to come to the track when he used to race back in the late 60's early 70's(drag, Jr pro street) that was testing engine that he designed for a commuter car that would run all day on just a couple of cups of gas. Said there were always guys in the stands watching and taking pix and then they stopped showing up. then the old man just stopped showing up out of the blue. noone ever saw him again. Probably living well on some caribbean island and paid quite well to keep quiet.
  15. was cleaning out the computer and found I still had a link for these. http://yournutz.com/
  16. just look through any site like Yamaha of Troy that has the exploded veiw micro fiche to make a list of the ones you'll need. Between Pivot works and All Balls, you should be able to find most of them as sets. Check for them through Rocky Mountain.
  17. Bruce without a doubt, but it would be one hell of a fight. Chuck actually studied under and worked w/ Bruce
  18. got this the other day and finally get a chance to read it. Enact a New York ATV Trails Program The New York State Off-Highway Recreational Vehicle Association (NYSORVA), the statewide advocacy group focused on issues that affect the trail motorcycling and ATVing community, called upon the State Senate and Assembly to enact a true ATV Trail Program within the statutory 60-day window enacted in the State Budget and we need your support http://www.arra-access.com/campaign/ny_atv...ii756kk9p5bxiik?
  19. After reading all the rest of this I think I'm gonna past on this one. might be just too depressing Shit, I got ya beat. at the rate I been going I might already be there.
  20. they make a little tool to free those up. it's like a little impact driver kinda thing you fill w. oil and give it a whack. supposed to use hydaulic preesure to free it up and lube it, so you don't gouge to ballbearing. some cat was selling them on ebay. this isn't the one I meant, but it's simlar to what he had. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/KD-Tools-Ra...sspagenameZWD1V
  21. The following is supposedly an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid-term. The answer by one student was so "profound" that the professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well. Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)? Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant. One student, however, wrote the following: First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different Religions that exist in the world today. Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added. This gives two possibilities: 1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose. 2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over. So which is it? If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year that, "it will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you, and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number 2 must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and has already frozen over. The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore, extinct...leaving only Heaven thereby proving the existence of a divine being which explains why, last night, Teresa kept shouting "Oh my God." THIS STUDENT RECEIVED THE ONLY "A
  22. whenever you want to, run them til their bald if ya want to. most guys i know would change them at about 1/2" inch of tread left and they would go out and burn them up just before they changed them. personally I'd dump them ASAP, mine on my '01 only lasted 2 weeks. Shreaded the hell out of them on the rocks. the stock tires are ok for tooling around the yard, but otherwise they are worthless, Too light, too weak and spin way too much.
  23. What a dumbass. Just couldn't wait til he got home. Nit-wit.
