  1. You should be shot for even asking this question.
  2. Both Engine Ice and Water Wetter work by the same principle. When the coolant encounters a hotspot and boils, it forms bubbles. While there are bubbles on the metal, there is no coolant touching it and cooling it off. The surfactants that make up Engine Ice and Water Wetter keep those bubbles from attaining any size, and make sure they don't stick to the metal. Either one will do the same thing, although Engine Ice is more expensive. And since it drops the freezing temperature (containts antifreeze), it more than likely won't cool as well as straight Water Wetter and water. Myself I use 1/4 toyota red antifreeze with 3/4 water, and water wetter. Don't really need too much freeze protection here, rarely gets lower than the teens here in the winter.
  3. Yeah, Toomey's perfect jetting is anything but. Im running with an airbox without a lid, with 340 mains. Im surprised more people don't blow their motors running that jetting.
  4. Manta rays are docile, but so are stingrays. I've been swimming with them in the caymans. hundreds of them all around, and they'd let you hold them, pet them, turn them over and everything. As long as youare gentle and don't step on them, they won't sting you.
  5. Stingrays aren't dangerous though. Hell, they'll let you hold them. That was just a freak accident. Kind of ironic that he's messed with huge crocs, deadly snakes, and yet a stingray gets a (un)lucky shot and kills him.
  6. Just put it on at a right angle to the wrench, otherwise your torque won't be right.
  7. You're missing the point though. All that stuff is stuff you want. You don't need a car, or need a quad. If you got fired tomorrow, nothing catastrophic would happen. If your car blew up, you would still be alright. Everything you work for is stuff you want. You have no necessities that you pay for. Just trust us, we've all been where you are, and said that same thing too. When I first moved out, there were some weeks when I had no food for days at a time. The only time I would get to eat was at work (cooking in a restraunt for $7.00).
  8. :thumb: Yep, those things work wonders.
  9. Yeah, thats the feeling I got too. He strikes me as one of those conspiracy guys. He's also changed some of it too from when I first read it a few years ago. He used to say that the students were partially right. Can't remember exactly whats different, but he has changed it.
  10. Found it. First go to this page and then use the browser search for "supersonic". http://www.mototuneusa.com/success_stories.htm Then try this page. http://www.mototuneusa.com/super_sonic_nozzle.htm
  11. Yeah, but for all that expense, whats the gain? Changing out the front end isn't going to fix any geometry issues. And you're not going to get much longer shocks out of it, the upper shock mount is still too low. If you're going to cut and fab, copy Sundahl's frame. Thats improving the geometry. All you'd accomplish by cutting and welding yfz450 a-arms is a weakened frame from all the cutting and welding, and a frankenstein front end that uses one quads a-arms, with shocks that would have to be totally custom made.
  12. Ok then, at least you know what you're talking about. I tend to take it personal when people call me stupid, and then have nothing to back it up with. But you still haven't showed me how the RAD valve is better. A flow bench is a great tool, but it can't simulate the air flow in a 2 stroke engine. If thats all moto tassinari has, then that does make them seem a little backwoods, but you don't always need fancy equipment. All you did is explain what happens to supersonic air through the intake. (By the way, you ever read mototuneusa guy's reduction porting, how he blew off the guy that told him he was full of it?). I still have never seen someone who ports these engines recomend the RAD valves.
  13. If your state doesn't require it, they will have to issue you a title if they require one. Theres no need to sell your quads simply because you don't have titles.
  14. No, I just happen to be majoring in mathematics/computer science and minoring in physics. The v-force design is better, plain and simple. You can't make the valve any wider. So the only way is to get the valves to open further. You keep a stock like design (RAD), and you have to open the reeds further to flow more. Bending the reeds will fatigue them quicker. Not to mention it won't have as good of control at high rpm. The v-force can achieve the same flow while only opening half as much.
  15. :: All I was trying to say is that an outerware won't solve all the problems. I just tend to post like that cuz of the idiots on forums. No offense meant.
  16. I used to have them before I got my XCRs. And while they don't handle near as well as the XCRs (taller and about 5 lbs heavier per tire), they hook up like crazy. Last forever, on won't get a flat. I wouldn't hesitate to get them again, if I wanted a 22" tire.
  17. Except for the fact that it won't fit.
  18. Mothers is good shit, but I've started using Nevr dull wadding polish lately. Easier to use, and polishes just as well (a little quicker maybe).
  19. Yes thats the fill level. Any higher than that is overfilled (I usually go just a tad over).
  20. Yep. The rad valves do great on engines where the reed valves are at an angle. I haven't seen a single engine builder yet that recommends rad valves over v-force. Look at a v-force design, and you can't beat it. If all the reeds open up the same angle as a boyeson cage, then the v-force will flow more. The only way for another cage to flow more than v-force, is for the reeds to open further, which will shorten life expectancy.
  21. Yeah, but your sand is alot coarser than here. I know what your thinking, that you're stuff is powder. But trust me, dry clay will have finer particles than any sand. And even with outerwears, it goes right through. For the sand dunes I might run one, but probably not.
  22. And now you know why I'll never run a K&N on anything that goes off road. It lets shit through. Foam doesn't. I've cleaned my foam filter before and got nearly a full cup of sand out of it, and not one bit of dust made it through. I've helped other people clean their K&Ns, and even after a single days ride, theres a layer of dust inside the carbs. As far as airflow, it might flow a little more, but its not that drastic of a difference (not as much as K&N wants you to believe). That layer of dust like they said will usually go through without causing any big problems. But keep doing it day after day for a long time, and i'll bet money it would shorten your engines lifespan.
  23. If you like thats all that matters. But I wouldn't do it. Its the wrong way to widen something. Spacers, flipping your rims, all the same thing. Puts extra pressure on your spindles and ball joints. Plus when you get the center of the wheel so far from the turning axis, you magnify every bump you hit. Just makes it handle worse. Not to mention it exposes your calipers, and your lower balljoint more. If +2 arms aren't wide enough, then you should get +3.
  24. I've never heard of AV gas being illegal to use in anything but planes, and I doubt it is. Makes no sense. You can go buy jet fuel all day long (kerosene). Its not like its anything special. More than likely someone just said it was illegal as an easy way to stop having to deal with people wanting 5 gallons at a time. Besides, the FAA can't enact laws. I use straight 100LL. I've driven on the tarmac with the quad in the back to get it. They don't care, just something to talk about. Edit: and what about farmers that have their own landing strip and keep their plane at home?
  25. Took the words right out of my mouth!
