  1. I wouldn't be kicking with barefeet. I've had the shee kick back on me once, and I was wearing sandals, and swear I nearly broke my foot. It hurt for a couple weeks.
  2. Yeah, new gears have to wear in. You notice when you buy a new four stroke (cars included) you get that shimmer when you first change the oil. Thats just the imperfections in the metal breaking off and smoothing the metal out. As long as it doesn't keep doing it, and you don't find any shavings you're fine.

  4. Shimmering oil isn't as bad a thing to find as pieces of metal. Although they generally both come together. Change the clutch, and if you don't find any metal shavings then I wouldn't tear it down just yet. Ride a little with the new clutch, and then check the oil again. If theres a lot of metal in the oil I would tear it down. Im tearing mine down shortly because Im starting to find shavings in the oil. It started off with just shiny oil like your talking. Magnetic drain plug is a good thing to have too. Only 10 bucks or so.
  5. Taking it on pavement is the easiest way to tell. It will rev up, without accelerating, pause, and then the revs will drop off slightly and you should feel it hook up.
  6. True, but the way I see it the point of the forum is for everyone to bring their knowlegde and share it. Every body has something to add, and through that we all learn more. Even the people that you might not like, and argue with everyone brings something, no matter how little (except maybe brooke, but I'll make an exception for her  ). Night adds nothing. just a bunch of stupid topics. If he left today and never came back, nobody would miss him, and nothing would be lost. We would not be any worse off if he were gone, and we aren't any better off now that he's here. Problem is banning him probably won't work.
  7. Yep. buy something like one of these http://www.cardomain.com/shoptype/Water+Temperature+Gauges You want mechanical. Then you simply find a t-joint with the right fitting for you probe, and put it as close as you can in the water line going back into the radiator.
  8. Yeah, my dad fixed a neighbors propane fridge and if I remember right, it works, just not as quickly as you would want. You want it cold first, and let the propane maintain the coldness.
  9. If its a v-twin (im guessing here cuz its a street bike, and has dual mufflers) it shouldn't be too much of a slouch. Probably high 30s hp. Maybe over 40 hp. Id still rather have an rz350 for a 2 stroke street bike though.
  10. Canadian cannabis cup eh? You better get some pictures of that shit. Better yet, bring some of the winner back with you, and pm me when you get back. We'll work something out. :thumb: Have fun.
  11. He'll probably never race again, but there is a chance he will walk again. Such a shame too, cuz he was well on the way to winning the WPSA title this year. http://www.atvriders.com/atvnews/atvamx200...nesweekone.html
  12. Nobody here has it. Because it looks like a turd. If you really like it, then go ahead, but I think it looks like crap. Im not alone either.
  13. Hey now, having the slides only open halfway happens, its not a stupid mistake. I did it the first, oh, year I had the shee.
  14. You're right. The banshee is front heavy, and the problem there is it causes the quad to push in the corner and generally be unresponsive handling wise. And it causes there to be less weight on the rear tires, adding to the wheelspin problem. Extend the a-arms further forward, and shorten the swingarm, and you've effectively moved the center of mass 2" rearward.
  15. Some people go all the way to a -2, others like the -1. If you're going to be doing any kind of racing, or just riding xc, then shorter swingarms improve the handling. Helps get the power to the ground better, and makes it more responsive handling. I would just get the -1 myself (one day I will). Every inch you shorten it, you lose travel. Probably not much though.
  16. You think he'd be any faster at a rebuild (revalve, not service)?
  17. Here's an idea everyone, just ignore him. If we don't pay him any attention, and don't reply to his posts, maybe he'll just go away.
  18. Yep, everyone that I've seen thats had FLOATs won't swtich back to anything else. And I've heard the same thing about Axis from a few people around here. Kind of losing focus in the atv game. I was going to get some floats for the longest time, and still might, although it looks like I might end up getting a deal on something else. I still wouldn't hesitate at choosing fox over elka though.
  19. If you live in the artic circle maybe.
  20. What do you mean? I still have my original a-arms. Yeah. I had an up close and personal encounter with a tree. It was the twist throttles fault.
  21. No problem, I edited like 6 times cuz I couldn't figure out where on earth you got the 22" from, or what exactly you were talking about. Makes sense now though.
  22. Read my post. Then read his original post, says 18 in holeshots. With 18's and a 16 tooth front sprocket his overall gearing will be slightly higher than stock, as in faster. And animalman is right, 18" tires are alot easier to turn, because they not only weigh less, that weight is closer to the center of rotation. Takes less force (torque) to accelerate it.
  23. Id say 2 grand. But don't mention that they're new a-arms, that just makes someone think that you wrecked it and had to buy new ones.
  24. It should pull a 16 tooth fine with 18 inch tires. It will be geared a little higher than stock, but not much. You'll be 1-2 mph faster in each gear. 15/41 with 18" tires is geared lower than stock gearing on 20s. Try the 16, you'll probably like it.
