break in?lol!my 421 cub kev did i bolted it all together on a friday night and sat the break in was a 500ft wide open pass down the track with about 200 more passes after that through out the yr. tore it down sent it back to him couple weeks ago and he said it was probly the best looking set cub cylinders thats been ran that he's seen.so now just waiting for the new and improved cub to get back.can't wait.but to be on the safe side do a couple heat cycles through the cylinders before you hold it wide open for a while
i agree with your saying in away, but i look at it this way.if the guy that does my motors isn't going to do the same work to mine as he is going to do to his own motor then i'll go to somebody else.i know everybody has a opinion
sorry man i am going to have to call you out on this one.i have known kevin herr for i'd say 4 yrs now and i am 100% sure that he will build you the same motor as he would be running on his.i think that might be one of the reasons why he has such great feedback with the performance of his motors
just tore mine down after the season and had to put one fork in but for the gain with having a overide its well worth it.i let of the gas all the time without pulling the clutch in
you have to pull the shaft that has the 2 forks on and place the springs on each side of the forks and in between the two forks as you slide the shfit back through.sorry no pics.hope it helps though
you have to take alot of things in consideration on that, builders, alky or gas,setup,etc....i have raced 10mils with my 4mil and also rode the guy who does my motors banshee which has a 10mil and i believe there just isn't much difference
i rode frans banshee out at glamis and it was a 421 cub with a stock swingarm.what a hand full and your sure can't get the full power out of it with the stock swingarm.imo i think it would be a waste of money to build a 421 cub and run a stock swingarm.like dave said get a good life insuriance plan for sure.keep in mind i have a 421 cub that i drag that has a +7 swinger with a bar so not saying i'm the best rider out there but sure no amateur with a cub.
i had a set that kevin from hjr did that i loved but to compare them to the same port work without the boost ports i don't know.any good builder could tell you around about how much they help
the pancake bearing will save you a big headache in the long run.what happens is you will weld the clutch rod, ball and lever all together and 90% of the time you have to split the cases to get it out then.i know i had too
the long rod has less stress on the rod.also the only crank i really trust are the hotrod and if i'm correct i don't think they make a standard rod 4mil crank so you would probly be getting a vito's and heard bad things about them
loco if you are doing so good for this site your not coming across good for to many people when you are taking apart in ruining somebody's post on what clutch basket to buy.you guys need to look back at your post and look how childish you all sound. be adults and grow up!i don't dislike anybody on this site but this kind of shit does get old fast.
by the way i run a PE clutch basket.they are cheap and never had a problem with it
