  1. i ran a slingshot on my 421 cub i had and really liked it.for the money its really nice and its also pretty simple to put on.just installed a dd on tony's(TeamrealtreeHD) cub and its really simple as well, but just alil more money.both are nice. guess its just all in what you want to spend for money
  2. did you mean a 4.37 on a 4.40 dail?
  3. .025 is safe.you will beable to tell a difference but check compression when you get it back together
  4. oh yeah the beast!!!that thing was alot of fun to ride in but over 70mph it was alittle hairy
  5. get a hold of kevin at herrjugsracing for the cub.you can't beat his quality, pricing and costumer service
  6. check the pickup gap and pilot jets
  7. did you try high strength loctite?
  8. sounds like the reed wasn't on the cage right.always heard good about them and i never had a problem with mine the 3 yrs i had them
  9. give kevin at herrjugsracing.com a call.he will be straight with you and if there is anything he can do to them i'm sure they will run great
  10. if you are going to be running a shock on the back you are going to have to hook the wheelie bar just to the swingarm and when you set on it the bar is going to come off the ground.it will work but just going to have to play with it.around here they seem to hook better that way.i always just ran a strut in the rear and set it about 4 to 5inches off the ground.i made the bottom bars with 3/4 chromolly and the top bar was 7/8
  11. i'd say where kevin told you to start with the jetting should be somewhat close.if its off only alil and it wouldn't run like crap.check over everything like carb slides and choke tube.where's your timing at and make sure the pickup gap is right
  12. see told you there was a issue with those damn thing backing.get rid of them and get yourself a set of vf3's.well worth spending the money and cheaper then real building the cub!
  13. like was said split the cases.then you have to take a split bearing puller and pull it off the crank.to install it you set the crank in the freezer for a couple hrs and put the bearing in the oven to get it somewhat hot and the bearing pretty much will slide right on the crank with out to much tapping with a hammer
  14. grind down the outside of the spring that would be interesting to do
  15. get one of kevin herr's dune port jobs, timing plate, shave your stock head and there will be no question that you want beat him!!
  16. watch when you bolt the bowls to the bottom of the carb.sometimes that gasket tries to push out and you have to take a small flat screw driver to hold the gasket in place while you tighten it down.had on leak before right from k&t
  17. to me it sounds like a pilot or a/f tunning issue.mess with the a/f screw first and see if you can get it to clear up.remember don't go no farther the 2.5 turns out on that.it will be fine with the cpi's on it i have rode many non ported shee's with them on but with a port job they will really shine
  18. sup fran.yeah i rode this banshee when i was out visiting the hjr crew.it was alot of fun with the stock swinger but on oldsmobile hill its nice to have alil longer swinger.lol
  19. do yourself a favor and save your money and get somebody that knows what there doing to do the ones you got now.atleast you know what you will have and they will port them right to your riding and mods you have.do a search there are some really good builders out there.not to mention kevin herr is right at the top and is in my opinon the best out there with costumer service and quality!
  20. people use epoxy pretty much cause they don't have the machines to true the cases back up from the warping from welding on them.epoxy isn't really a bad way just guess you can say "easier".
  21. chad,i don't think the newer hotrod strocker cranks have the little pins on like you are talking about.i just assembled tony's cub and his bearings didn't have one on.also know of somebody else that there's didn't have it either
  22. kevin is a really great guy.after having a few of his motors i'd will tell you that i have been called a cheater more times then i can think of.had one of his 4mil drag port on a set of stockers and was always at top every race with it.then had one of his 421cubs which just plan out ripped.needless to say with his motors never had a problem winning in my class with even having one of the smaller motors in the class
  23. t5's are a really nice pipe.when you decide what pipe you are going to go with make sure you let the bulder know so that can do the port that will work the best for them.on a dune port i would look into getting a set of 33pwk's
  24. if you move the clip up it will lean it out.wes, way to make him feel good!!!!.i never mess with moving the clip just keep it in the middle,if you need it leaner then get another needle
  25. seems to me that maybe something is up with there a/f gauge and it was way lean.i know my stock cylinder 4mil kevin drag ported i had the dumps at .125 and the mains the same and tuned it with the power jet.the power jet was i believe one turn out,it ripped.hope you get it figured out blanco
