  1. be aware of the little ball (the piece between the pushrod and adjuster) if it should happen to fall out onto your shop floor or where ever you are working. it can be very frustrating to put everything back together and you see it lying underneath the bike.
  2. the 700's have 5 foreward gears.
  3. for real?
  4. first of all, sorry to hear about your dad. what kind of track surface? 300' i assume? the few tracks i have been to, either a prowedge or a straight paddle tire worked really well. post up your bike.
  5. looks nice. you should immediately shift focus to your foot pegs and brake pedal next.
  6. hmmmm....i thought these yamaha banshee frames were made from old recycled soup cans and what not.
  7. you have any pictures? care to sell the tank cover and radiator shroud seperate?
  8. what kind of transmission do you have in there? it sounded like you missed a shift or something in one of the vids? good job, bike looks great.
  9. the biggest benifit you achieve from additional stroke is more torque. especially with a good port job or aftermarket cylinder. they really shine on the drag strip in getting the fat guys to the finish line quicker.
  10. in frame vs. out of frame exhaust, you may not feel the difference in your pants but you can see it on a time slip. lol splitting the cases and installing the override is peaches. you can visit one of the sponsors here, fast racing. he can head you in the right direction to get your parts and he's got pretty good customer service.
  11. i dunno, a couple thousand for a nice DM cylinder, billet cases and such verses a couple thousand for a big bore, stroker, turbo, nitrous injected such and such. its all friggin expensive. i once had a 700r w/ pc3 and duals. it was faster than my banshee. i traded it in on my new 800 can am outlander and it's even faster than my 700r.
  12. to the original poster: i think making the change to the CPI's would be a good investment. you might even want to look at some shearers also. i actually liked the performance of the shearers better than the CPI's. I didnt notice any loss in bottom end performance but i did notice a bit more over rev and top end. and the shearers also fit better. no more melted outerwears on my airfilters. lol
  13. some put a rubber plug over that vent. there is a small hole in the clutch cover over the water pump to route the vent line up to the frame underneath the gas tank.
  14. you most likely have an air leak somewhere or your throttle could also be in a bind.
  15. A neutral down 1-5 duneable override trans is the shizzle. it is what i have in mine. it works really well and really shifts easy.
  16. here is a picture taken off of cascade's website. just round out and smooth the edges of the segment. this can be done on a bench grinder. if you really want your banshee to shift smooth, i would suggest a duneable override trans.
  17. sent you a pm
  18. i would be looking for a modded shift shaft with easy spring. i prefered this over the modded star.....
  19. water pump impeller seal or the o-ring on the tube that goes to the back of the head.
  20. i believe the seller of that item, as with a lot of sellers on ebay, put those words in there for anyone using the ebay search engine.... :geek: as far as i know, dune sand racing has absolutely nothing to do with the price of tea in China. however, dune, sand racing and nice, shiney, billet, chrome atv parts go great together just like peas and cornbread.....
  21. one more.... chuck norris is what willis was talking about.
  22. chuck norris can believe it's not butter. and he can lead a horse to water and make it drink.
  23. Hilarious

    times?

the american racers are an awesome asphalt tire. i have mine in a 20X10X10 sd-23 compound i believe.
  24. duneable override = money well spent
  25. i also provide the same service for the little debbie snack cake corporation
