this winter i want to beef up the motor in my shee. i have a plus three swinger to put on. i do mostly trailriding and steep rocky hillclimbs.my mods currently are listed in my signutare. i want to take the pistons to 40 over. i have a mild midrange port job now with stock jetted carbs and 2 into 1 pipe. i love the low end power now but want to go to a set of dmc 916s. i dont want any other pipes other than those or my motofast. i dont ride a 100mph. like i said i want a setup that will climb some really severe hills. it already does but i want to climb more steeper stuff.my question is with the 40 over jugs and a vitos 4 mill stroker crank, will i get a real noticable power difference? will i be able to go to a dual pipe setup and keep my lowend? will i have to run bigger carbs? i also was thinking a coolhead with like 19 cc domes. currently i run a stock milled 20 thousands head and i am pushing around 130psi compression. i also run a 12 tooth front sprocket and mud machines. any input would be appreciated.also is the 4mm stroker reliable?or is there another motor mod at the same price i can do that is better. i would like to keep this deal under 1500 bucks with pipes and all.also has anyone tried the alba shift drum mod that uses bearings on the drum?does it smooth out the notchy shifting?

you know.NEVER let anyone ride your bike. they wont let you ride their girl friend or wife will they? and never let a four stroker ride your banshee. they cant handle it.i saw my buddy let a friend ride his atc 250r at a party. it smacked into another guy on a 300ex. side impact. it sounded like a friggin train vs. car wreck. after the dust settled, no one got hurt. that was amazing. they both jumped off the bikes just before impact. now both bikes were ridden on buy non owners.the atc front forks were bent back and to the right. the front wheel was inline with the right rear wheel. the front fender got broke and it took out a foot peg front tire and rim. the 300, got a bent rim, smashed foot peg and cracked the rear plastic.they guy on the atc was a long time friend of the trike owner. he does not ride and has little experience.he payed both owners over 1600 dollars for repairs.now that guy has character and poise unlike no other. he is a true friend. that is very rare to see in this world and i doubt i will see that kind of responsibility again.even though the wreck was just an act of time and chance that can happen to anyone, he stepped up to the plate and payed up for the repairs.you can take that story for what it is. just my 2 cents.

take the axle to a machine shop.that has a press. it will cost you like ten to twenty dollars. most napa stores have one. have them press it out. they will know how to do it with out damage. then sandblast that sleeve before reinstalling it.

80 90 w is gear oil. way too thick for a quad. all brands foam after circulating. if you check the rear diff fluid in a truck after driving it foams.all gear oils do. but done run them in your bikes. 80 90w is for cars and truck differentals.

do you think you can handle pulling the whole engine?then take it to him?once the engine is out it takes like 20 muntes to pull the top end down. that will save you some of the money. or get a manual. it will explain the process step by step and really the whole job only requires basic tools. do you know any car mechanics or something like that. that will walk you thru it? lately i cant believe the prices some of these shops are charging guys for service. i have always done my own work so maybe that is why i feel they are high. but i can tell you i would carge around 450 to do a top end.350 parts and 100 labor.

well i am in ohio. i was wanting 1500 for it the way it sat, but i have since put the 250r rear suspension up for sale on ebay and i am tearing the 250x down for a full on restoration. motor ,frame, etc and all. so i guess it is off the market for now. maybe when i get it done i will offer it for sale.

yeah he is aware of cooling. those particular fenders are for super drag banshees with relocated radiators. they only run for 2 minutes max. he also makes them for trail and normal riding.

yep the shift forks not being in line will cuase your shifting problem.however there is no possible way that you will get that fork lined back up without splitting the cases. plus there might be pieces of metal in there too that will need to be removed.either way the cases have to be split.still should not cost more 1000 dollars in the worst case senario, and that would only cost that much if the cases and tranny are damaged beyond repair.thsoe plugs are pressed in to the case so silicone wont help you there.

just pull the stator cover. it takes like 5 minutes to check and is easier than pulling your carb off. the black stuff is unburnt fuel from the cylinder, due to incomplete combustine. the crank has to be sealed good to compress the fuel mixture. the bike is probably real hard to start when cold is it not?, if so that is becuase the choke draws its vacumn from the left side piston and crank. if you have a crank seal leaking, the choke will not operate correctly due to lack of vacumn. that is my opinion with out seeing for my self.

HOW TO TO A WHEELIE ON A BANSHEE
2twin350s replied to Turbobanshee_kid's topic in General Banshee Discussion
yeah you can grab a grab bar of a banshee with your hands and twist it and whatch the subframe move. i mean it does it real easy compared to other makes of quads. -
yeah i was at work too.i went in the lobby and saw it on tv. that just goes to show you how much society has changed. ya know when J.F.K was killed, everybody was sent home from school and work to be with their families.the whole country was on alert, during a national tradegy and, every body was like just keep working.and not to be mean to any race or gender of people, but those freakin hardcore islam fundamentalists think they were put on this earth to hurt innocent people. hell they are even attacking their own people. freaks. i would like to put my banshee on bin ladens head and dump the clutch on him and burn my mud machines down bald on his face! lets go take their country over and use thier dunes. i am sure the tree huggers wont care where we ride over there.

HOW TO TO A WHEELIE ON A BANSHEE

watch you sub frame guys. they bend just looking at them wrong. slam your grab bar just right and you will bend the sub frame for sure -
you guys gotta go to www.chainsawgraphics.com he is making some sick 3d banshee plastic. there is also some awesome links to bitchin banshees in there. check his links section

sounds like you lost your left side crank seal. pull the stator cover off and grab the fly wheel and shake it up and down. if there is any movement you lost the crank bearing and seal. or start it with the stator cover off and listen for puffs behind the flywheel.dirt and dust probably got into the seal and wiped it out.if that is the case you might as well replace the crank too,the bearings will probably go next.

hey cronstar. i did not see it.the pic from the top does not seem to have it.now what that tube does is, it sucks vacumn across to the right side carb bowl to draw extra fuel in during cold starts. basically, it is a link to the right side choke.now put that vacumn line on and pull the choke out. you will probably have to hold it out while kicking. they get that way after a while. it should idle after about 40 seconds to a minute of that.here is another problem. if that tube has been missing, especially for some time, there is a good chance that the carbs sucked dirt and dust in the engine.i would still run a compression test after you get that tube installed.remember your cold compression readings should be at least 110 psi. and that is borderline for a rebuild.let me know how it works. i think that will get you going cuz i did not see that tube.it does go right on the opposite side of the choke straight to the other carb. there are 2 ports to slip the tube over.

dont use locktite. it will break the electrical connection. what i do is,put the plugs in the bike tight. then i use a pair of pliers to tighten the nipples down. i run plugs for 6 months and they never come loose on me that way.or you can get boots that make you remove the nipples and the contact the threads underneath. ngk makes them, however, they end up loosing the tension in them and have to be replaced about once a year. my first suggestion would be the best route to take.

2 grand? that is insane. i can build the hell out of that motor with all kinds of aftermarket stuff for that money. like i said before, i can fix that for a fraction of that cost. you can get a brand new engine from east coast atv for 2 grand. save your money and ship it to me. i might be able to get it fixed for 4 or 5 hundred bucks may be less. it will cost you about 50 bucks each way for shipping. but i can assure you it would not be anywhere close to 2000 dollars.either way, find another quote from another mechanic, please. check around on prices
