yes the choke transfer tube between the carbs always falls off. i seen a dealer tell a guy he needed a new engine over that 25 cent vacuum tube.

i would go to a stock degree key. i am a mechanic and when you burn tips it is from too advanced timing or poor grounds in the secondary ignition system check all your grounds in the harness and pay close attention to any aftermarket kill switches. also make sure your plugs are getting a good ground at the head. make sure there is no carbon in the thead holes of your head. if not the spark trys to ground at the base of the plug electrode therefore burning it off.

i check mine with a laser thermometer. the radiator runs 160 to 200. the heads run 190 to210 after a romping and the pipe runs 289 at the jugs and 245 to 265 at the chamber. but i run a 2 into 1 which will run hotter than duals
