you aint seen all of wells then. i can get mine up in gears in there no problem. i dont go down there for that though. i ve seen hillsville but it is always on and off again due to cops.i dont want my bansh impounded.FORGET IT. when hillsville is all legal, then i will go. wellsville is all legit. no cops. pay the money and do what you want.if ya want to scream through the gears, they have a drag pit there. maybe that would suit ya. i go there for the rocks and hills,i love technical stuff. drag racing is for doin in the yard.besides no place on earth has the entertainment factor like wellsville!

i agree he needs to do it himself. a clymer manual will walk you thru it. but he also said that the bansh shifts 1st to 3rd gear, so that is a little more involed than doin a waterpump. his cases need to be split to fix the shifting problem.if ya dont want to send it to me that is cool just thought i would offer, but pull the engine yourself if you want to take it somewhere else, and save some money.

send your motor to me i only charge 20 an hour and no parts mark up. i have built many banshees. i own 2 and have had 4 and i turn wrenches for a living. i can fix that for150 bucks plus parts. you will probably need some gears in your tranny. each gear costs about 70 bucks a piece.if you dont want to send to me fine. pull the motor yourself. that will save you about 150 in his time and take the engine to him and set it on the bench. most guys charge 275 to split cases and do tranny work. check my website. i am an honest businees man and i take pay pal. www.cosmicquads.com. my contact info is in there under the order page.

put a inline filter in your fuel feed hose at the tank. the plastic filter in the tank sometimes breaks up and lets pieces get in the needle for the floats and holds them open.the inline filter will stop that from happening

coolant ressy relocation instructions

ok i will take the tubes off and plug the bottom hole and run a tube to my helmet and fill it with beer -
make sure your choke tube is in between the carbs. those fall off a lot. it is just a little vacumn line about 3 inches long that goes between the carbs towards the tops of the carbs. it should be black. listen to holyman too check the compression. go to parts store and buy a compression tester for 30 bucks that fits chevy engines. most are pretty generic. they fit a lot of cars. take the plugs out screw the compression tester in and hold the throttle wide open and kick the bike till the needle gets to the highest point. then check the other cylinder the same way. you should have at least 110 pounds to start the bike on both cylinders, but stock motors with good rings usually have around 120 psi depending on your altitude.i have seen them run on as low as 90 psi, but that is too low and needs rebiult. but check that tube on the carbs just pull the seat off and look down at the carbs. if that is it it is a free repair and takes about 5 minutes to put that on. more inf will help us diagnose the problem better. and welcome to B.H.Q.

gotta split them. the crank seal has a groove that fits in the case and clamps it down. you will get the old one out, but never get the new one in. 60 bucks for seals and gaskets and about 6-10 hours work and you will be good to go. dont forget to get yamabond sealer for the case halves.

Anyone ever pieced together a bike from nothing?
2twin350s replied to JasonsBanshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
i found a 89 that barely ran with a bent frame for 600 bucks. i put a used frame under it, did every bearing etc, went thru the whole bike, rebuilt the top end, it had a new crank in it but only had 89 psi compression, so i was lucky there, it was sitting in a shed for 5 years with mold growing on it, ported it bored 40 over got a pipe off ebay, etc and gave it to my wife, turned out really nice and i had about 2000 bucks in it when done. but i did everything myself except the cylinder work. if you try to go piece by piece you will spend 3 times that money -
What does it mean when shee won't turn off
2twin350s replied to Handyman's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
sounds like you lost a ground in your harness, or check near your cdi box there is a ground bolted to your frame. in most cases when you use your switches they ground the system to kill the coil. -
i am looking for a tri-z 250 three wheeler. to buy in any condition running or not near ohio. i will also trade a 87 honda 250 x with 400 ex a arms on it, chrome dg pipe and i have a honda 250r quad rear set up with a works shock that will go with it. it runs good but is on stock bore. it smokes a little when cold and the timing chain is rattling. the plastic is good.over all a good quad just needs some tlc. i dont ride it no more and i want a trike. pm me if any one has one to sell or trade. if some one has one to sell that needs work fine, but i need alt least 90 percent of the trike, not just a pile of parts.

well went to wellsville this weekend and it was great. thay were trashing equipment left and right, we seen 2 hondas roll. YEAH. NO,no one was hurt. always good to watch the 400 ex boys roll. the bikes were ok too. otherwise i would not joke about that. the only reason i mentioned that was becuase we ran across a fleet of hondas, 400ex and 250rs, that were bashing on banshees. so i built a new hill around one they could not get up. that pissed em off! and then they used my trail and i did not see them the rest of the weekend. another guy rolled a suzuki samuri, he was ok but the truck was tore up pretty good. they dragged it off the hill on its side with a jeep. we got vidoe and i will try to get some pics up and video up. lot of people there and great wheather.me and my wife burned thru 10 gallons of gas, so we did get some good riding in. as always. wellsville, the best location in the nation

coolant ressy relocation instructions
2twin350s replied to 2twin350s's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
thanks for the pics guys. i put a high flow pump in and tried the bike this weekend.the only time it got hot was when i built a new hill for a honda to go up. lol.my bike runs perfect, but the riding i do is slow hill climbing. a lot of big mountain hill climbing, some are a half mile long, and unfortunately, after about 20 minutes and 2 or 3 trips of that they just get hot. i can tell when it does and i just shut it off and drink a beer.it is not overheating it just pisses a little coolant on the pipe.i also run a 2 into 1 pipe and i know that they make the motor run hotter just becuase the extra back pressure. but the high flow pump made a big difference. i will probably go to engine ice. and try to get it even cooler. i like my stock head. it is shaved so i will wait on a noss head.plus i am trying to get a tri-z so saving for that and GAS MONEY! -
if ya get rid of those 916s get a hold of me if ya want to sell em.send me a pm.i run motofast 2 into 1. it is great for all around low to mid power. kinda smooths out the powerband hit. it is great for trail riding, but if ya want a ton of top end it will not be for you. i ride mostly tight trails and fire roads, and i love the pipe. i also am bored 20 over with a mild mid range port job and a 12 tooth front sprocket.i run namura power pistons goin on 2 years now and they really kick in the mid range. i really recomend getting your compression to around 145 psi. by playing with your cool head domes, it makes a huge difference. i have heard that some guys have been braking v force reeds and sucking them in the engine, but i have not seen that to back that story up. i would check with some people on the reeds and see what they think. i run boyesons and never had a problem with them.

drop some new plugs in it and spray your cdi box and coil and wires down with wd40. that will disperes any hidden moisture and then do the same with your on off headlight switch. then kick her over and ride. make sure your airbox is not full of water and your filter is dry.

you have to split the cases. the seal has a lip around the outside diameter that fits in a groove in the engine cases. you have to split the cases to do it correctly. i seen some try to half ass it without splitting the cases and it does not work. by a gasket kit and slpit the cases.

i have heard a lot about the over flow bottle relocating trick, does this stop the over flow pucking on the pipes and can some one give me instructions on how to do this? i want to do it cheap i saw a link somewhere but cant recall how to do this, what are the benefits

MUD MACHINES FOR TRAIL AND ROCKS AND HILL CLIMBLING, tons of clearence and the traction is sick, i pass the other guys high centered all the time, also heard the maxxis all tracs are good, but i live by mudmachines, they are excavators.they dig man. magic racing has em, pricey though. 70 bucks each

negative, you WILL TRASH THE TRANNY EVENTUALLY, dont be that guy

put your needle clip back to stock keep the 142 main jet. set the air scre 1.5 to 1 3/4 out from seated. if you still have the low end hesitation, try runnin with the air box lid off. if that works driil some holes in the lid and reinstall

castor 927 is synthetic. they say not to use synthetic. but i have done 4 banshee engines running 927 at 20;1 and never had a problem. one tank of gas will be fine. just dont rev the thing to the moon until you have about 8- 10 hours on it and vary you throttle opening. dont hold it steady then after that break in i run about 44;1 with 927

what size sprockets should i buy?
2twin350s replied to RmOntheWeb's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
i run 12 tooth front and stock rear. works great for trail riding and hillclimbing. will kill your top end speed though. but you dont have to feather the clutch in tight trails with this setup. i get my stuff from magic racing.com. i buy the racer kit. steel sprockets with a rk oring chain all for 70 bucks, plus they get it to you fast. that setup will last me a little over a year. -
i agree packing does not shoot sparks, and it has nothing to do with spark plugs, i think somethin expensive is getting chewed up. even more so since it is an 89 banshee. when was the engine last rebuilt 1991?

ATVers should petition to kill horses
2twin350s replied to Holyman's topic in General Banshee Discussion
i have had some dealings with horse owners. about 90% of em are crooked theives. my wife used to be into those useless hayburners until i took her ridin.then she had a choice 1800 bucks for a horse or a quad. i own 2 banshees and we are still married. she made the right choice. so do away with the owners and use the horses for traction!
