  2. ever had an injector apart?i dont think you have.fuel never hits any rubber pieces. look at gm bulletin for fuel injector cleaning. it states that any cleaner returning to the tank will damage fuel pump and regulator becuase the are plastic. does not matter, reeds are not plastic, and go get some injector cleaner and soak the reeds in them and see what happens. it will destroy them.make them brittle. plus it will lean the premix and possibly seperate the premix in a 2 stroke.you can also run regular gas in your car. but would you do it in a 2 stroke? leave the car additives for CARS.
  3. got the led from billet banshee on ebay.i got it four days after payment, hooked up easy and looks good. no copmplaints. i will let you know how it handles in a ride or too.
  4. blasters are not good for dunes, z 400 all the way, they hold their resale value better too. you can get blasters all day long for 1500 only a year old.

  6. fuel injector cleaner will eat up anything plastic in your bike.REEDS,ETC. DO NOT DO IT!!!
  7. if ya can afford it get the z-400. they have been good bikes with lots of power.and they have reverse. blaster, no way.too small.plus the z has more power than a 400ex.seen a lot of 400ex engines go south.

  9. dual pipes equal top end. 2 into 1 pipes equal bottem end. banshees need help in the bottom end.they have all the top end in the world stock.as far as anything else, it can be related to muscle cars,or crotch rockets. bigger pistons equal more power and so on so forth. carbs etc.
  10. go buy a programmer for you ecm, that will get you the most gians for a cheap price. plus it will alter the shift points on the trans. i think they are like 300 bucks. trust me, i wrenched for gm for 12 years. MASTER TECH. you can do all you want to the truck, but until the ecm alters the fuel pulse timing and spark timing, all that crap wont do any thing for you but empty your wallet! as far as a bigger throttle body all that does is let more air in.it has no effect on injection pulse.

  12. early banshees were stronger in the motor department. they used to have a 1 milimeter difference in the throw of the crank.plus the frame is lighter,and i speak from past experience, my wifes 89 j-arm would hand my 96 a wompin in the drag races.both with the same motor mods. as far as handling, my wifes turns sharper than mine,lifts the front end more. i say handling is more nimble on a j arm frame.however, they dont take hittin trees to good, the will bend a upper arm pretty quick. but i say if it runs good and you can ride it for a while to verify that, for 1500 bucks that sounds like a good deal to me. just make sure what the bore size is on the jugs,to see if ya got some bores left. also the 87 88, and 89 banshees had a lower profile seat on them,some people prefer that.and alos they had no mounts for stock nerf bars. there is like a 30 or 40 pound weight difference compared to a arm frames.plus there are companies that sell reinforced j arms to make them stronger. atv four play has them, ithink jansenn racing does too.

  19. i couldnt pry my wifes banshee from her cold dead hands. she's been on the shee for 2 years. started on a xr 80, then went to a 225dx trike, then a warrior, then a 250x,then and lastly the banshee. rides better than most guys. I CALL IT SHE ON SHEE ACTION.HA AHA AHA

  21. so where do ya get these cheetahs from? and are they able to be bored or do they have a nikisil coating in them?
  22. i have a good port job now.the bike runs real strong. how much wood cheetah cubs run? and what is the differance?i hear they are nikisil lined for cooling. but do they have better ports or something?
  23. what probably happened was. if under the stator looked all rusty and nasty,water and dirt got in thru the sator cover and took out theft side crank seal. then the crank main bearings,hence the chunks in the head and piston.then the crank gets loose and starts banging the plug.hence the loose plug,which leads to detonation.make sure you seal the stator cover with rtv on both sides of the gasket. that will keep your crank seal nice and clean. after your rebuild, check the jetting on your carbs. at 60 over with fmf pipes,i am taking a safe guess,you will want to be at about 280- 300 on your main jets to avoid running too lean. espeacilly if you are going to run her wide open like that. you need to be real fat on your main jetting. maybe the carbs were jetted to lean to begin with.
  24. yes the kicker does hit the foot peg. that is normal. the earlier banshees had no stop on the footpeg and it put extra strain on the case and kicker. so in the later years they updated the foot peg to add a stop. that is normal.
  25. i shaved mine 20 thousands and it made a big difference. you can also go down to a 12 or 13 tooth front sprocket for more low end too
