Ok So I've been thinking about building a hill shooter from the ground up. I still haven't decided on a engine size but it needs to do no less than 70mph up Sand Mt, Nv. A cheeath 10 mil 535 has popped in my head a lot. I've thought about a 7 mil as well and I think that will be the smallest I go. I want to keep it in a stock geometry banshee frame. I figure that I won't be able to build it this year due to being in the Navy and going on a 6month deplyment next year so I have alot of time for research and figure out what I need and get the knowledge I need to build this thing properly. I figure that I'll keep it on race gas since no one in my area sells alky. Now my question to you big motor and hill shooter guys is this (just to get me rolling in the right direction for now) What is good starting point for.... motor size gearing tire/paddle size carb/jetting selection tranny exhaust internals swing arm length suspention I know I'm not asking som equestions that I need to ask and I hope you guys can chime in with the info. As far as my experience and ability goes...I can take just about any engine apart, fix it and put it back together with ease..i may lack some in the technical side(electrical) but I can learn quickly(hence why I'm asking and researching now). I know I will more than likely have to send out for port work if needed and case modification for the crank etc. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Any info as to where i can go and read up on this stuff will be greatly appreciated too.

Your main is too small and air screw is out too far( personal opinion though)...Swap out with a 300-340 main, needle in 3rd clip, airscrew out 1.5-2 turns out and see what happens..May need to drop in a bigger pilot. Also try moving the air screw to 1-1.5 turens out and see what happens before you start taking things apart. The popping isn't from the packing that's from the jetting being off. Sounds like you're running lean

bansheeseat$$ was looking for one a while ago.. PM him and see if he's still looking for one.

When I put my cheetah engine back together and ordered the pistons i had them shipped regular ground shipping...damn things showed up the next morning...I looked at paperwork and they shipped them overnight

cascaseinnovations.net also has genuine banshee parts........a-arms bolts and nuts were on there

Have people that have just bought a used banshee think that just because they have a banshee with a pipe and OEM airbox think that it is automatically a drag banshee..Had one guy tell me that his banshee was built for drag racing..He had a banshee in sorry shape that was 99% stock. This is the same guy that pays $700 for top end rebuild every 10 hours Had a guy at Sand Mountain, Nv. talking shit and racing piped banshee's on his stage 1 cam'd and piped 450 and winning. kept talking shit and racing..only if he got the hole shot..wouldn't race if he missed a shift or didn't get the hole shot, he'd give up. Then He saw me sitting there and started talking shit to me...told him to put his money where his mouth was...Bet was $40(because that was all I had in my wallet). We raced twice...and I won twice...He was quite pissed and ran back to his camp crying like a little bitch...I heard him claim that he spend over $4000 in engine mods and still lost to a piece of shit 2 stroke banshee... most of all the other pet peeves were already listed....

I'd stay at +4 if it runs good. Heard anything more than +9 is not good

Well I already have reverse on both of my bikes.....What it is is I scoot all the way up on my seat...place feet on front tires and push down...bike moves backwards....but then again that's when I'm on level pavement in a tight spot...other wise I don't need reverse...Doesn't quite work in sand
-
I run dirt tires on myt '99 and I can tell a difference but then again I'm not turning hard either. the bike will still turn but it will push a little more but then again yiou have sand stars to a little gas and the rear should swing right around. If money is an issue, roll with the knobbies for now and get some front sand tires after you get back.

I don't either But I remember coming here and my first few posts(if not more) were nothing but questions. From the questions that I asked I can now swap out a top end with my eyes closed.

No I understood what he said just perfectly but I believe that It's always better to ask any and all questions that you may have before starting a big project like that. It doesn't really matter what kind of person he is when it comes to being mechanically inclined or not. He may be able to take a piece of sheet metal and steel and make office furniture with hand tools. I have no clue what it takes to drop a street bike engine into a banshee frame so that's why I redirected him to Loco since his raptor has a streetbike engine. Your assupmtion as to what kind of person 504 is or his age because he types with CAPS LOCK BEING STUCK ON may be 180 degrees off. I hit the caps lock button on accident too. That's why I never judge a book by it's cover. I have nothing against Snop, from what I read from him he sounds like a great guy and he's certainly got a wealth of info that he brings to this site which makes this site so great. Very rarely does some get bashed for asking what may seem like a simple question to some and complicated to others. I just hate seeing people get made fun of for asking simple questions.

Both of his frames are PC'd....Shipping will be no less than $100

It's been a few years since I've even been to vegas but from what I remember they were more along the lines of a utility quad and a small cc engine...less tempting to steal and/or to haul ass on. The tours from what i heard have been ok

Well you do now because I have them on both of mine..

Better he ask to know then not ask and not know and fuck everything up trying install the engine...The more info you have the better

That bracket with the plug holer is pretty cool. too bad they don't have a spot for a wrench to go with it...kinda hard to swap plugs if you can't get the old one out.

You want to cut the pipe right....if that's what you are talking about the sound will not change...The muffler..the big fat thing under the passenger side.... is what makes the sound of the exhaust. the pipe just carries the exhaust fumes to the rear of the truck.
