  1. I have herd of guys drilling holes in the concrete and using a really heavy duty expoy to instal the I bolt or whatever you want.
  2. My compression before putting cool head was around 110 in both so its time for a rebuild and the winter seems like the best time! I am going to try and get the aggresive dune port from Kevin at herr juggs and bore and rebuild the top end. My question is, should i break the cases apart and take a look at the bottom end. And if I do pull the bottom end apart is there anything that i should plan on replacing or rebuilding in the bottom end. FYI its a 2000 banshee with the mods in my sig. and it is 100% internals and its never been rebuild or bored. thanks.
  3. I put on the 13tooth because i was riding a lot of technical trails. I am actually going to go back to a 14T. As for my bike vs a raptor 700. I had a raptor 700 that i sold to a budy, and even it being stock and mine the way it is, the raptor gives me a run for my money. Most time the raptor wins due to traction....I think my banshee is a little faster but obviously i can't hook for shit on any loose stuff.
  4. My set up is similar to yours, all i can think about is maybe those FMF pipes are hurting your top end. Also when you add timing and compression it helps bottom end more than anything. Lastly if your not running the right main it would affect your WOT performance. Try a size smaller or larger main jet and see how she responds. What i can tell you is my banshee which needs a top end walks all over z400's, 400ex's, with a rolling start i am a good amount quick than stock 450's and can keep with raptor 700's but they are still a little faster. Something is not right with your machine if your not running past a z400.
  5. This makes me feel a little better. Once and a while i will give her a good detailing but after a weekend in the dirt and mud it only gets so clean without being excessive. HillClimbr - I have resorted to the same thing with my truck. I prob only was it twice a year by hand and the rest at the local $5 car wash
  6. Sold my 06' RSX type S and bought my Titan...although that was not only because of my banshee but it did play a big role haha
  7. I have to ask..how the hell do you guys keep your bikes frames and swingarms so damn clean and shiny!?!?! Like i understand clean plastics and wheels etc....But it would take me a whole f-ing weekend to get my bike to look 1/2 as good as some of yours. How do keep those swing arms clean with chain lube and dirt and shit all getting stuck to it? Like my street bike is easy to keep looking showroom, but the quads are a different story!!!!
  8. I know this is something i posted like a month ago, but i did soften up everything and to be honest it really came down to how i was launching. I think i was too harsh on my launches....i went out today after making a few adj. on the machine and tried a bunch of hard starts on damp grass and really learned a lot after like 20 starts or more. I really have to ride the clutch through almost all of second gear when starting other wise i will either just roast the tires or bog down. If i slip the clutch at like 3/4 throttle and sit back i can get a decent launch! Not great but decent. thanks for all the tips guys!!!
  9. I think I will as long as you guys are still riding. Looks like rain and shit.
  10. It is but its been too long since i have ridden the old shee... that and there is no where to ride around me and i have no one to ride with.
  11. well if the weather holds up i'd love to take a trip out to PA and check out some of the banshees from this forum... let me know if you guys are all still going to ride. I will need some direction.
  12. I am thinking about taking my 2000 Shee that's in pretty good shape and ripping her completly apart and basically doing a ground up restoration!! I don't want to change a whole lot mechanically, maybe just do a top end and re-valve the rear shock and maybe new fronts, but i want to clean everything, change all fluids, seals, bearings, put all the wires in neat wire loom, powder coat all the wheels and the frame, and powder coat any metal parts i can. I want to take it from looking like a used machine to a better than new bike. I have always wanted to tackle a project like this and the winter is a good time to do it! I'll probably take my time on it, but i want to take all the right steps and make it all 100%. As it stands now it runs awesome and really needs nothing, i just want to renew everything so there are no squeaks or rattles. I would also like to get the cylinders painted and all the calipers, paint the clutch cover and basically anything that i can. Also want to cut the front fenders, maybe even get new plastics all together to change the color comb. I know this is a lot of work. And its going to cost a fair bit of money, but i think it will look sweet for the start of next years riding season!!! I hate to rant on and on, I am just pumped to do all this!!! I will post some before pictures this week, and also some process pictures when i start, which may not be until late fall.
  13. i don't know how wide my rims are. As far as i know they are stock rear rims with the razr's on them. But i will try to soften up the rear suspension and i will lower the rear tire pressure a bunch! thanks guys
  14. all this info is great!!!! thanks I am 5' 10" 200lbs and running 20" maxxis razr 6 ply, i think they are 20X10 but they are much wider than that. the same size knarly's i used to have were shorter and not nearly as wide. I will lower the tire pressure, i usually run like 5 psi and i will soften up the rear shock and see how it does. I dont want to go with a shorter swinger because i want to get an aggressive port job and dont want to wheelie nonstop.
