  1. Just installed my NOSS head today and it was easy. No leaks and it does run cooler than with the stock head. I use a temp gun and the NOSS head made it run about 15 degrees cooler.
  2. Checked the carbs they are clean and no stuck floats. I always run my banshee out of fuel before it sets. I turn the fuel off and let it run till it dies if I know it will be setting a while. Do I just let it run till it burns all the gas out or do I need to do something else?
  3. Has been a while since I last started (about 1 month) and now Im having trouble. I put on my clean clamp ons, turned the key and started to kick (pulled out choke to first notch where I usually do). Kick it awhile but it won't start. Take a beer break and try again. It starts but it is shooting tons of gas out the tail pipes. What could be causing my problems? When I say shooting I mean like 5 ft!!
  4. A buddy of mine is going to use Vitos super stock pistons. He was told that they give around 5 hp in the mid and 8 on the top compared to stock. Anyone else try these and notice a difference?
  5. Wow, no one thinks hughs can win against gracie. Hoyce was good back in the day because no one else new that fighting style here in the USA. Now everyone knows exactly what Hoyce knows. In the past couple years Hoyce has been loosing fights and winning very few. He has lost at the Pride fighting championships, king of the cage, and some grappling tournaments. The entire gracie family used to be unmatched until now. I hope Randy wins the fight. I like both fighters the same but I would like to see Randy win so he could retire with the belt. By the way anyone watched the Heavy weight Arlovsky (can't remember how to spell it) now that is one bad man. Glad I never had to train or fight with that guy
  6. I used to use 20/10/10 9 paddle haulers and thought they were awesome. Then I got some 22/11/ something cant remember 8 paddle haulers and I will not ever go back to a 20. My top end with stock gearing is awesome. My buddy has a YFZ 450 with web cams, aftermarket exhaust, rev box, stroked and 21 inch tires. In a 300 ft race he takes me by about a quad, in a long race he takes me by two or three. I have toomey T6 pipes, timing plate, clamp on K&N's and a shaved head. Tires heigth can make a big difference in a race.
  7. When you put the carbs on do you check to see if your slide is setting properly? Are the jets the same size on both carbs? Did you adjust your air screws the same on both carbs? Did you check your reeds for any damage?
  8. I have a friend that had his cylinders honed and he is getting a new set of pistons as well. He used a dremel and some emry cloth to smooth up the exhaust side of the cylinder. He didn't notch at anything, just buffed it out making it really smooth where the pipes go into the cylinder. Will he see a hp gain that is noticable?
  9. I had the same problem. I just tied in the brake lines to the callipers at the wheels and opened up the bleeds. It took forever but it finally started to come out.
  10. Very good. Have to give that one to the co-workers.
  11. A Jag XJ220, if you don't know what it is, I feel sorry for you.
  12. I just wanted to know how his porting works. Will probably use him. You fight like your little kids.
  13. Don't know about that one, but most people use the wisco pistons.
  14. FMF Fatties and Toomey T5 are both good pipes.
  15. I don't know, some of those carts run really well and rev pretty dad gum high.
  16. Some people use sheet metal screws to stud the tires and they work pretty well. Real studs work better. I like running without studs, seems funner to me.
  17. It's on patriots website. If you plan on just duning I don't think a 10mm is what you need. A 10mm is more for drag i think. Just get a good dune and play port, get some bigger carbs, aftermarket filter/filters, and the right pipes. That should do fairly well for recreational riding and the butt kicken.
  18. The more compression and timing you have the higher octane you will need to run, they say more than 160psi you need to run race gas. Do you know what your current compression is? Would be wise to go buy a compression tester and see. Your eleation also plays a factor on compression. IF you go to the NOSS website there is a table that can give you an idea of what domes you might need, you can click on the link here on the hq. Porting will bring your compression down some, but it is better to be safe than sorry
  19. Is it cutting out before the powerband in every gear? I am not sure but if you have the air screw turned all the way in doesn't that mean you could bump up your pilot jet?
  20. Try asking the guys over at planet sand. Alot more info about drag set ups there.
  21. I tried it again with a different number and it didn't work, said I was 46.
  22. Hit it right on the head!! Why do these things always work
  23. An o-ring can dry rott, don't know how long that would take though. Either way it's an easy fix.
