  1. At this point you're about saving money so just find a standard stock stroke crank with 110 rods. At a minimum, find a quality used stock crank, have it trued and welded, and replace outer bearings.
  2. No hack saw? Try and post a pic directly over top with decent light.
  3. Simple stuff like changing plug boots, and making sure you have plugs with actual solid tops instead of thread on tops will help. Set the pick up gap on the stator/flywheel. Make sure you're using the right fuel, not just putting race fuel or AV gas in a set up that should just be burning premium ol 91-93 octane.
  4. Well, there's an issue. Because 120's in 28mm PWK's should be way lean for that set up, but the plugs look pig rich. Almost fouled.

  8. Wow! 155 is gonna be hella lean. Especially for a 392 serval. What needle is in it? Should be an EEK or at least EE# of some sort.
  9. Post pictures of spark plugs. Close up on the strap, straight view of the bottom, and side/angle type view of the strap as well. A leak down is a way to determine that the motor is indeed sealed up and not sucking in additional air or eating coolant. Use expansion plugs from an auto store on the exhaust, and make two PVC caps to go in the intake boots. One should have a gauge, the other should have a valve stem. Only put 6psi in the motor and it should hold for roughly 6 mins. In all honesty, if a motor has an air leak though, it will lean hang off idle and you'd know there was an issue. I'd bet you are letting compression blow by in to the coolant system. If you kick it a few times and listen, you may be able to hear it gurgling air pressure in to the coolant system.
  10. It was a 2/1 intake on a Serval? To be honest, if there wasn't a bigger bowl on that carb and larger fuel valve, you'd be hard pressed to feed a good set of cylinders like a Serval. I've set up a dozen or so 2/1 intakes and I just can't see that motor being happy on one 35mm.

  13. If that's indeed the old Jaws crew, they are from the era of guys like Rudy Kurtz, Patriot racing, etc. They certainly had a good reputation but that's a long time ago. The work on them looks clean, more then likely a dune/drag set up looking at the pics. Might be a deal that's totally worth scooping up. How much are they asking?
  14. Wow... Make sure the motor isn't cooked. Compression test and definitely take a peek at the pump. Then verify the jets are adequate and it's not lean. Check for air leaks, does it idle high or slow to return to idle? It shouldn't be that hot.

  16. Post pics with tapatalk or photo bucket. Quite a few after markets that look stock. Vitos, CP Industries has a Wampus cylinder, possibly Athena, etc...

  20. T5 for your motor for sure. Big Bore Shearers would not make much low end on that combo. You'd probably be hard pressed to even get them to rev.
  21. 358banshee did some a while back. I think there were quite a few T Rex's with flat tops. Not a very common thing, but it's been done.
