  1. What I meant to say was everything was either aftermarket performance or OEM. Yes the gasket kit was wiseco and that may certainly be the problem. So after the third heat cycle there is a tiny drip and I mean 2 drips per five minutes. So I contacted the part supplier and he is going to refund me the top end. So now begs the question what the fuck do I get now. I have almost every mod on tranny and supporting mods including racing radiator high flow water pump billet clutch kit blah blah blah, what is the best top end for trail riding? Thanks guys.
  2. Hey guys, well here is the update and some clarification. Sorry my post was so poorly written. I bought an entire oem top end kit. Wiseco pistons gaskets etc. Everything was weseco right out of the box or container except cylinders and head and both them were yamaha factory. I pulled the head today and inspected the gasket. The gasket looked great aside from one slight imperfection right by the water jacket on the right cylinder. However it was the left cylinder that was leaking more. So today I went and got some permatex spray copper gasket and sprayed the head gasket and reinstalled exactly per the manual. Did the second heat cycle on the banshee and nothing leaking from the head. And the machine ran like a beast, idled perfectly and oil and fluids look great. However towards the end of the heat cycle there were a few drops dripping on the exhaust. So it is either coming out of the over flow or from filling the tank. Or worst case scenario it is coming out of the two front cylinder base bolts. So later this evening after everything is cooled down I am going to inspect again. The head issue is solved but now it may be leaking from the bottom cylinder bolts. If that is the case I am going to pull the cylinders and spray down the two gaskets with the copper spray and try again for test number three. As far as cleaning or being true there should be no issue at all as this was a brand new install, everything but the cases, and transmission. Everything else is brand new oem or aftermarket performance. As a add on, when I pulled the head everything looked beautiful. It is obvious coolant was not leaking into the cylinders and it is leaking around the bolts and flange. So hopefully all i have to do is pull the cylinders and permatex and I am good to go if infact it is leaking from there again. Thanks for all the advice as usual.
  3. I tried that and still leaking, now it is leaking past the studs. Brand new studs cylinders head and head gasket I am perplexed. I am going to try some copper spray I guess.
  4. Hello everyone, rebuilt another banshee been a while since I have built one. I bought the best of the best and today finally got her all buttoned up. However once I got her mounted in the frame and everything done I noticed coolant very very small amount like two or three drops dripping from the seams of the head and the cylinders. I re-torqued all the nuts and started her up for the first time. She cranked up no problem but the coolant started to drip more this time. So i let her run for 30 seconds and shut her off. Everything was brand new and it was a aluminum or copper hybrid gasket. I initially torqued to spec and in order and still had this issue. What should I do, any help would be greatly appreciated. By the way it is a stock head and stock cylinders all new oem
  5. Probably have air trapped in lines block or radiator. I guarantee that is the issue.
  6. Thanks guys! Got them in. What I did was took the pucks and the wide end I put facing down and then I put the on a angle and hit them in with a polymer rod and a huge 6 lb dead blow. And quit being gentle and hit them in with one hit each. It seemed to get easier the more you got in.
  7. Hi everyone I am completely rebuilding my 02 banshee. I bought a aftermarket clutch basket and heavy duty clutch from tusk with springs. The clutch cushions are shot so I bought new ones. I cannot get them in. They are way too tight. Should I remove some of the rubber or what. Please help this is a pain in the ass.
  8. What upgrades would you recommend to upgrade the driveability
  9. What pump did you gentlemen go with? I am considering the Vito's with the hot rod rebuild kit and bearings
  10. Thank you blue that is what I will do then. I will get the radiator off eBay and all the supporting mods and do a complete rebuild in a year or two. Blue do you have a set of cool heads as well? Or do you think a high volume water pump and radiator are enough? I live in Michigan so it isn't like Arizona temperatures.
  11. Hey Tony my bike is as follows... 2002 Banshee full FMF turbo core 2 exhaust FMF ram Reed carrier. 2 to one Trinity racing manifold Keihin 42 mm carb boysen racing reeds.
  12. Thank you gentlemen. I went back to banshee after running a ltz for many years. Just am a lover of two strokes. So since my bike is probably good to go my next idea is to get some Vito's cool heads and a oversized radiator and high performance water impeller. What are your guyses thoughts?
