  1. 21cc should be doable on good premium. Might even be able to squeeze ; degrees of timing in there to. But if you really wanna be safe do a 22.
  2. Exactley, why the fuck else! Haha
  3. I used to ride with a guy that had a blue 250R that had a fluorescent Green frame. It was fucking sexy..... Other wise I think the blue looks good on a crisp white or almost chrome silver.
  4. LIke the man said.... Jump start. Haha it's pretty close.
  5. Looking pretty close man. What did your strap look like before you chopped it?
  6. I believe the OP is looking to determine which of the common bigger inframe "drag" pipes will still hold the most bottom. Not which pipe out of the entire market. If that is the case, I'd say the CPI's. Maybe a set of Rockets. Good luck finding a used set of either. There are a lot of CPI owners out there and almost none of them are selling their pipes. That should tell you something about the quality of their product.
  7. N2O, can we get a FFS?...... What kind of pipes are they? What jets are in the carb now, how do the plugs look?
  8. I used to run the Sunoco 110 for years and have been messing with a lot of the VP stuff lately. I built the new 4 mil to run on C12 and noticed that the fuel is not only more consistant, but it runs cooler and has a better resistance to detonation. Then this winter I couldn't get C12 at the local shops so I bought up some C14. Since it has a different gravity it is a much lighter fuel but that means the motor will consume more of it. I jetted up from a 162 in the winter on C12 to 168 on the C14. I did manage to get away with more timing on the bigger tracks with out any detonation or excessive heat increases. The latest fuel I have been playing with is the VP113. It is oxygenated and it really does work! Jetted the bike from the winter baseline of 162 for C12 to 172 for the VP113. I also gave the needle a clip richer and went from a 60 pilot to a 62. Came out of the turns harder and took the 7/8* of timing and ran way cooler. I did even try my other set of short track domes with much more compression and it was a throaty sum' bitch and it carried the long straights with out any detonation but it did start to build alot heat after about 10 laps. So the fuel isn't a cure all, but if you learn to play with it you can get some cool results. I have even thought of trying my short track domes with the Q16 on the half mile tracks but I think I need some shearers to let it over rev more then my rockets to allow that.
  9. Buff your plastics and call Vegas Jeff for a seat cover to top it all off when you're done. It's kinda like the icing on the cake. A reward for turning a turd in to gold. Look in the for sale section here for stuff that is used but still in great shape. Best way to save a buck.
  10. Those oko's? As far as compression..... Time for a rebuild
  11. With that bore and good premium pump fuel I'd say a 21-22cc dome would be close but your elevation plays a factor. Where are you guys at in relation to sea level?
  12. Race fuel, new domes( re chamber the head) and 7 degrees of timing.
  13. Dune port with the right set up on race fuel will be a fun motor bottom to top with some compression and timing.
  14. NVM, just did a little research on Klemm Research. Guess that is an old shop. Used to do a lot of 250r stuff.
  15. Who is Klemm Research?
  16. Good compression? Between 100-220 kicking psi. You need to determine whether you have an air leak or detonation or combo of both....,
  17. Take care of it properly, and learn to tune properly if you start with the go fast goodies. Otherwise, the only problem is how addicting these things get. There really is just to many parts available for banshees. There isn't one nut or bolt that isn't replaceable with something cooler.
  18. Since you are heavy, don't bother with the lightened flywheel. It only seems to work with light bikes and itty bitty jockeys. And ditch the Vito's degree key and just get an adjustable plate. Way easier and you can change it. And if you are doing a good triple exhaust port(RDZ?) you will probably be happier with some 39's on there.
  19. I don't see a material like this going viral with the parts manufacturers, however it's not out of the question for someone like Weisco, Wossner, or WSM to make some small batch pistons out of this stuff. Cost would be nuts but guys are already paying a left nut for cheetah, DM, DMX pistons. Maybe a builder might do a set of domes with it to be on par with temp capabilities of the piston... I would't see it any farther then that though.
  20. For years I dealt with Lakes Motorsports. They are ok for machine work and mike is a great guy. But some of the guys that work in his shop are incompetent and really have no clue. I left my bike there for a top end when I was doing a job out of state and needed the bike ready and dynoed when I came home. Not only was it not tuned all the way, it also had the manifold coming off of it and I scoped the piston and it was starting to melt. I have parted ways with them since then.
  21. As big as money allowed....
  22. Billit power jets ehh.... Who makes those?
  23. Bad assembly or tuning. Maybe even both followed by lots of detonation.
  24. Beef followed by M2M....... Sounds like a guy on guy porn. In all seriousness. PJ's are needed on alky for sure but not so much on gas. But if you do a lot of climate and elevation change they are nice. I ride in the winter and play with a few different fuels so I like the PJ concept for gas.
