  1. Why not just use a proportioning valve for the brakes like many race cars/trucks? Could cut the trans real good and just let off to shift and no clutch is needed. Not an over ride either. Just clutch to get going.
  2. They are. Yes. But it is inconsistent. I had a buddy with a porche powered sand rail on e85. Every time out to the dunes the fuel was different and required a bit of lap top tuning. Just call the fellas at livernois Motorsports. They were one of the forerunners of the e85, and quickly moved on. It can definitely be cool stuff no doubt. But we are talking about a banshee already set up for alky, so why put it on e85?
  3. Just give it a good tune and close eye. There is more to reading a plug other then whether it's rich or lean.
  4. Why? Really!? Wtf ? Why?
  5. Well, appears to be a pretty decent cub set up. I would check the stroke, squish, compression, and ask for a leak down. Most of the parts for a strong cub set up are there and I would imagine that if it's in good running order it is worth snatching up. That fuel system looks weak though. It appears to be running on just the stock petcock with the T fitting to the carbs. Whether it's gas or alky, it will definitely want more then that.
  6. Bummer man, I hope you get it straightened out. Lotta fellas out there who have found ways to ride when dealing with a situation like that. I honestly think that as far as the banshee goes you are out of luck on the auto clutch. But you could fab some stuff and have some work done to make it ridable. Or you could trade it for a 4 poke which are easily converted.
  7. You should have made that machinist pony up the 200 bones for another set of cylinders and pay for them done by a competent machinist.
  8. Agreed. Sounds like you have been reading and taking in the correct info.
  9. I run the FAST manifold and it's fucking titties! Puts the big carbs above the clutch arm nicely and I have Billit bowls as well. Super clean, high quality boots and machining. It was put together well and I would not hesitate to buy another. I have been buying a lot of chariot stuff and would try their stuff with out worry as well.
  10. Yeah if that little 100 is hot
  11. 98 Ron or Mon? Either way that's pretty good fuel and will possibly be ok. I would be pretty conservative on timing though
  12. ^ safe start. I'd imagine you will be around the 50/52 range pilot and 145-150 area. Depends on what the porting is but your pipes are pretty tame. Side note: the idle is set with the choke knobs.
  13. ^must be angry tonight
  14. I had a guy order aluminum balls that he sent off to be hard annodized. Other then that I just got ahold of a rep at McMaster Carr. Told him the size I needed and he sent me a lighter steel, ceramic, and titanium balls. Havnt messed with them yet. Not till january Funny: that post kinda reminds me of why we started talking about installed height
  15. Fire ball has sketchy customer service. Glad they moved up to ball joints. Guess they got tired of refunding money.
  16. Only thing to appropriately put in banshee frame rails would be a snowmobile motor or a very high end street bike swap. Both of which are out of your capability to to correctly if you need to ask. Sorry, not trying to be a dick, but there are hundreds of hybrid builds out there and maybe one out out of every 25 you see is done with a quality attention to detail. The nice shit costs a lot and requires a wealth of knowledge and skill. Any one with both of those wouldn't be asking, they would be doing.
  17. The roll design arms are sweet!
  18. Drive line, FAST, Barnett makes a nice spring kit with three light and three heavy. It's nice. The Barnett 3&3 is currently in my bike and has been Cryo treated as well.
  19. Check out the lock up tuning thread. There is some info as well as equipment listed for spring testing. Btw, the stockers are definitely soft. You could try staggering three stock and 3 heavier springs. Or jump to a lock up and keep all lighter springs
  20. ^ cookie cutter 10 day turn around
  21. How did that go? Jim and Gary have seperate bikes?
  22. Fuck that noise! Just look for a good set of used stockers with a lot of life. Hell, you might even be able to come across a nice complete top end. Maybe even an aftermarket one.
