  1. Weight in any class is critical. If the guy in the next lane has one or two bikes in seperate classes they are serious and those type of fellas tend to be crafty in ways to not need to rely on the motor so much as they do the chassis. You wanna win, you gotta be ready to beat that guy and it ain't happening with out the extra work.
  2. Should expect experience pure awesomeness! Only saw one bike with them and he was hot lapping the hell out of a 421 cub on alky out at silver lake.
  3. Look around for banshees with the led bars. Never seen one with a 20" led bar, but you would get an idea of what you would get away with. Personally I think It would be goofy lookin and most high watt stators are expensive unreliable junk. Just hate to see ya spend money and be unhappy.
  4. Classic pipes! Pretty old but I remember seeing those on a bike when I was young and they sounded pretty nice
  5. Seen a single arm rappy with the floats.
  6. I'm with windy. Time to tear in to the cases. Check the eccentric stuff behind the kicker to. Might as well get it appropriately cut and do the normal shift mods and pancake bearing.
  7. Remember that those runs were for a much bigger motor. Rockets are pretty much up to snuff to about 400-421 CC's
  8. Awesome mid and pretty good top end. Out of the bigger inframe pipes I would say they produce the best low end but they will have a sign off mid 9 grand. Scoop them up!
  9. Shift shaft bushing, eccentric screw.
  10. Just split the cases and have it gone through for peace of mind. Once the clutch stuff is off and you get inside the cases, there are literally 3 big parts. Crank, and two tranny clusters.
  11. Well, the list on my bench includes a new 4mm crank welded with two max loads, lots of the OEM bottom end stuff. Placing my order next week sale or not. But I will say that there a lot of fellas about to do their winter tear downs and the little OEM stuff adds up fast. I bet if you guys came up with a bottom end overhaul type kit for a good price they would go fast. Ya know, eccentric screw and nut, all the washers and locking tabs on the clutch stuff, seals, pto side crank nut and convex washer, etc. All the junk you need to start completely over fresh.
  12. Reeds. Regardless of top end issues or whatever, there shouldn't be anything coming out the intake side. Think of the reeds like a one way check valve. If anything is coming through them there is an issue.
  13. PAM. Not just for cooking.
  14. Crank the handle bars to get the tie rods forward and you might have enough room to go in at a different angle.
  15. Some cool stuff. http://www.greenskyadventures.com/bing/HACman_Article.htm
  16. Man, I just started googling that Bing type 54 airplane carb and I am finding a ton of interesting stuff. Those seem pretty trick for a round slide I guess. But a lot more expensive then most.
  17. I would get a few pics posted up and spend some time browsing the complete bikes for sale section. Try and compare your bike to similar stuff. Look for reputable craigslist or autotrader type ads to see where you fall.
  18. From my experience when reading piston wash and what not, I typically associate glossy burned on carbon like yours as lean.
  19. I must admit I finally read all this shit...... Wow. So weird how many people get off on that type of shit. It's gross and rediculous when people tout them selves as smarter, yet they can't fucking type.
  20. For the record, ASV's come in different lengths and none of mine have had chrome for the perch. They have always been the same color as the lever. However, I do have to agree that those photos of the levers looked faux as hell. The adjusters were bogus to me and that's what threw me off so I stayed back.
  21. Sell works, buy new age stuff....
  22. See, this is what happens when you let your child grow up riding 4 strokes at the dunes. They get beat up on by banshees all the time and end up here trolling for revenge!
