Fast hillbilly way, drop a dowel rod down the spark plug. Use the kick starter to slowly cycle the dowel rod up and down. Mark the dowel at its highest and lowest point in the stroke. Now pull the dowel out and measure the distance between the two points. 54mm is stock, 58mm is +4mil stroker, 61mm is +7mil stroker, 64mm is +10mil stroker, etc.

Not sure why folks are so anti Amsoil. Never had problems with it. I just prefer good ol bean goo, and have found one that works in the cold that I like so I haven't bought much Amsoil lately for that. But it's in my truck and mileage is definitely improved.

Right, but DOM isn't light either. In the end it could be a pound-ish... But I personally think it could be worth it to find some way to ditch the two clunky plates and clean things up. I think I would grind the plate off the face of the gusset with the two threaded inserts in it. Do it clean and flat. Make a plate to cover the opening, but leave it off for now. Notch a tube to fit the chassis tube inside the gusset and sticks out far enough to hold the nerfs on. Maybe six or so inches. Use the tube to mark the plate where it will come through and make a hole in the plate. Now weld the tube to the frame in the gusset. Slip the plate on over the tube and line it up and weld bothe the outside edge and the hole around the tube.

There is 4 square nuts inside there, and two gussets. You are replacing it with a foot and a half of chromoly tube in that drawing. There is no way you are getting rid of 3 lbs. of chassis weight. But I do dig the way that looks.

Get a 4L80. No point in putting another anemic 4L60 behind it.
