  1. Do a pro flow mod on the air box. There's a few companies making them. It's a Billit adapter plate that you put a bead of silicone on to seal and a few screws. It accepts a better filter set up with less restriction. There's a few companies that sell them. The Uni/Twin Air filters are available for them as well as a multitude of K&N gauze type filters. The Foam Filters will clean the air better, however they absolutely must be cleaned often or the bike will not perform well.
  2. Hmmm, look for an air leak. Something is fucky if it was jetted right, it should t be getting hot like that.
  3. Few issues with dynos that take a good operator/tuner to overcome, yet I selfomly see it happen. First, some dynos don't produce a legitimate load, or an operator doesn't load it fully in an effort to boast about numbers. Second, were they running it on the dyno at full throttle? How can you expect to dial in the pilot if the carb is wide open each pass?
  4. 260?! Way lean on a set up like that.
  5. Is the exhaust turning dark blue to gold where it first comes off the motor? Some light coloration is ok, but if it's dark and beyond the flange like a foot, there is an issue.
  6. If the pilot is lean you will suffer severe slow speed overheating.
  7. Jeff at FAST gets sweet prices on all the little nickel and dime OEM stuff.
  8. Many have tried and failed. It is possible though. You'll need to ge the retention clip off with out breaking it. If you can make that happen you may have a shot.
  9. I friggin dig it!
  10. Street riding and wheelies, eh......? Before the butchers show up, the main things to know are:-what fuel do you wanna run? -is the crank trued/welded? -any added timing?
  11. An old forgotten about gem.
  12. 35's. Especially in open terrain.
  13. Exhaust rape?! Lmao
  14. ^ Why ask when you already know the answer? Gonna take at least 70-75 hp to pull that though.
  15. What bore/stroke combo?
  16. There has been a few.
  17. Make sure you speak with Gary at SRP about your set up when ordering to make sure that your motor is going to benefit from the Snipers. If you are doing a 421, you are probably in the ball park.
  18. Switch up the gearing. Lots of desert banshees are geared to do 95+ mph on the big stretches.
  19. Remember guys, You can always use tag board or cardboard to mock up what you want and JD can make it out of your choice in material. You can even send drawings/blueprints as a concept and have JD manufacture it.
  20. Might as well drop off the swing arm and beatings. Those are much nicer when pressed
  21. That's probably got something to do with an engineer's natural ability to overthink EVERYTHING. I've got one in the shop, I'll see if I can get time to dig it out and post pics of what gets done.
  22. PEP's..... I must say the fox floats are pretty damn cool and I know a lot of folks who are happy with them, but it took some fine tuning. That'll be my next purchase.
