  1. The only thing I could really see being a problem is maybe a bent shock tab that the bolt run through. And depending on how much it was bouncing around, maybe bend the upper taps near the headlights. Unless you were riding it really hard, I can't see too much being a problem, but this is in MO.
  2. Hmm it was grade 10 I believe. Friend saw it in the Triad and told me about it. So I called the guy up, looked around at it and decided to buy it. Here is when I bought mine:
  3. I don't think there is anything in the stock silencers to remove in the first place is there? there is the spark arrestors towards the front of the silencer..I don't know if there is packing in them or not
  4. Your Welcome, what length are Lonestars?
  5. Right on. can't wait to see it
  6. Yea I have seen those before from reading their mags once and awhile. A couple friends have also said that there are usually little shops that rent them out for a day and is fairly cheap too. I think that would be the easiest, if you are able to do it. Cause if they have nothing to take to the dunes, chances are they shouldn't be on anything too big or powerful (unless they know how to ride, lol) so a 400ex would probably suit them fine in the dunes, IMO
  7. Damn, shee is looking very very clean. I don't know why, but I really like the black frame, and then the hints of blue from your coolant plumbing and your pipe to silencer clamps
  8. So I measured up my stock axle, and I believe it is 36 1/2 from tip to tip. Hope this helps and gives ya a rough idea.
  9. DO YOU HAVE ANY PICS   That's awesome Kiel. Did you start it up and let her warm up, or did you take it for a little spin? I can't wait to get my build finished now...all you guys are a bad influence :yelrotflmao:
  10. Hmm, which dunes are you going to be going to? I know some spots have a store or whatever that you can rent like 400ex's and stuff like that...
  11. Agreed
  12. I will be working on my shee tomorrow. If no one has posted up yet I will measure it and find out for you.
  13. Yea I checked those all over as well, they seem to be fairly good actually. But time will tell :ermm:
  14. Thanks so much for the offer good sir  I'm not too sure on when I am going to be able to go depending on my bike and my friends bikes, so we'll see. I'm really hoping to get out when you guys are out there. I'm running 304 PC Silencers, which I'm not sure if they are the same as Toomey's, etc??? And also, Zach seems really interested in those sparkies. If you are unsure whether whatever you have in your collection will fit my 304's, I have no problem with Zach taking them off your hands
  15. That sucks that Kiel can't get on, I wonder what is going on
  16. Hmm I have it down from the Original 418kb to 34.2kb....See if I can get it smaller
  17. Here are a few pics of my shackle that broke while driving around. It's kinda a good thing that my leaf hit the wood of my mudflap, or else the thing would have been sitting even lower :ermm: So I got a couple new ones in through work (only cost me $24 each so what the hell, I got two) and got them installed the next day before my shift. Here are some pics of before and after. So yea, don't let your trucks rust too much, haha Specially up here in Ontario where the road salt is HORRIBLE Installing: (Got to support who I work for with new Mudflaps as well  )
  18. And you purchase this stuff all right there? The only thing I'm really worried about is the spark arrestors thing....but I have an idea for that one,lol I just don't want to get there and not be allowed in due to DB Level, sparkies and that is about it
  19. Damn those are nice pics, I love new parts
  20. I usually start it and let it idle for a bit while giving it gas every now and then just to help warm it up. Once it has sat there for a bit I ride it around easy. It's pretty easy to tell when the engine isn't warmed up because the bike runs like crap (well mine does anyway). It breaks away on top and just doesn't have any pull. So once I'm done riding it around easy and I can haul on e' and shee doesn't break up, that's when I know she is warm.
  21. lol yea, he says he has new ideas...but they might be top secret for Vol 2 to make it that much better
  22. wow, that is a really small file. I can try to get it down for you...
  23. I hope to get out at least in April!! I've never been and I should have my shee put back together for april. Im looking at pics and vids right now I want to go so bad  Question, what all do you need to get in??
  24. Arn't out of frame Drag Pipes fairly loud? Or are they about the same noise level as any other pipe? (just curious as to if they are louder, how come the dune people don't bitch about the noise) :geek:
  25. Hey Guys, Seen a couple pictures lately and made me think to ask this question. You know the engine mounts that go under the engine and are like what, 6 inches long? And then bolt up to the frame ahead of the engine. Well, are they 100% necessary? Reason being I am asking is I see guys having them in their re-builds of their bikes and when I purchased my bike however long ago, they were not on there. I have them in a box in my shop, however I have never installed them. So yea, are they a good thing to run, help keep the engine more stable and less vibration, etc?
