If you are running a stock shee, as in stock compression, stock timing, you are 100% wasting your money on race/high octane fuel, and may actually be hurting performance. Straight old out of the pump premium is more than fine for a bone stock motor...even one with a slight bump in compression and timing advance. More octane burns slower, so the motor does not pre-ignite...a stock or near stock motor is not even close to that unless the jetting is way lean...and even so higher octane won't solve that. Hope this helps.

Any stator will work with any year, you'll just have to get crafty with splicing wires.... And by those plugs...either that is NOT an 02 motor, or they went through the trouble of using an older stator, older CDI...etc.

Pros and cons. If done right, can add a few HP, no BIG deal. It also gives the gaskets less clamping area....too. So...careful. I did my own, just placed a big bore gasket, got a sharpie, and carefully ground it away with a dremel. Was bored...no issues. NO, it's not pricey, other than shipping the top half of your cases...usually less than 100.

That means you beat the rider...not the bike. A win is a win though... Go into "My Controls" and look on the left side for Avatar (by your name) and signature settings... Kinda self explanatory after that, me thinks.

Shut yer hole there....south boy...that's not fair rubbing that in our face...LOL... J/K... :yelrotflmao: Yeah, but you palm tree boys and girls will never get to ice race...he he.

Unless you have a Geo, get two from vito's and pay the shipping...and sales tax. It'll be cheaper than driving from Fraser to Orion... It'll be around 20 bucks or so for everything.... I'd get a matching set as well... I bet you mean Jim Riehl's Yamaha...yeah, their parts guys are cool, techs are dipshits. TORS removed, doesn't matter if it's twist or thumb, you adjust the idle with these screws, the carb cap screws only fine tune the slides opening and closing (sync'ing) of them.... The majority of slack is taken out at the throttle housing.

Find a small screwdriver...that size...and tap it lightly. It will pop right out. **Disclaimer** Do not do this over an open container of any kind, coolant, oil, gas...etc. By Murphy's law...it will in fact fall in this liquid...only to piss you off more...LOL  Tap her and get r done.

You're in KS...stop by or see Jeff @ FAST Racing, Holton, KS. He's got as good of a price as any on a new one. I hardly ever see used Dyna's for sale, people tend to keep them...as they can be programmed from one build to the next. Good luck!!!

I think 10 paddle will be too much. Rockymountain ATV has CHEAP prices on tires and rims. 240 new, SHIPPED for a set of 21X10X8 10 paddle haulers on blue label. Sell your old ones, use that towards the new ones...

Thanks boys...pleasure doing biz with you as well... Brings a little tear to my eye to let this stuff go from last year, I really had fun on that bike. Can't wait for the bigger, better banshee version 2.0 to be done...LOL.. Thanks to you boys too!! Dave

87-94 are same 95-96 are same 97 to current are same. The differences are in the CDI and Stator plugs.

Not for a banshee...but I'm sure it'll be similar... Call him up. http://www.shearerpipes.com/Misc%20140.jpg -
I'd bet his is either out of adjustment and/or the basket is all notched up...

It's a little low...but, it should start and run. Those PSI reading on the NOSS site are appoxamate, not bible. That being said...it's a little low. Did you hold the throttle wide open the whole time you were kicking? Jim, since I know you're a "stang fanatic, I'm sure you used a good quality compression tester, so we can rule that out. I'm available tomorrow after 5:30 PM if you're gonna be home... you got my number. I'd be happy to stop by and take a look. I'm really curious to see what kind of condition those carbs are in. Did you ever find out what jets on in them??

Dammit...you beat me too it. I get all blazed up...and who cares if the motor's about to gernade on me...I'm just buzzin along...without a care in the world.... I carry enough spark plugs to get a top fuel dragster through a complete series of races at an event, I'm a freak about checking my plugs often, very often. Keep a spare (stock) CDI, allen head sockets, screw drivers, socket for the countershaft sprocket, 7mm to 19mm open end/box wrenches. Same for sockets. Fuel line clamps...a LOT of zip ties, extra couple master links. And the normal extensions, pliers, magnet....etc. I bought a cheapy black and decker plastic toobox from walmart. It has three separate compartments in top of the lid, two of which can be removed. It has a tray up top...and it's pretty deep. I think it cost around 10 bucks....

Thank you.... The reason they don't make it legal is because of a few reasons. 1. No easy way to tell if someone is stoned, like a breathalizer for alky. Red Eyes and laughing could mean anything.... 2. No way to regulate it's potency easily. It's a plant...period. Alky has a certain percentage of alky in it...regulated, and controlled by the government. 3. Tax...the US Gov't would make so much money of legalizing it it's not even funny.... That being said, you're an idiot if you think it doesn't impair your ability to drive, etc., while you're on it. Yeah, I've smoked it...years ago when I was younger, etc. Yep, I even inhaled... This is a stupid fucking thread to say the least. Smoke 'em if you got 'em....stay off my riding areas/dunes/trails if you're gonna. -
When I had my stockish motor in 05, My tranny never shifted great, even though the clutch was new and the adjustments were perfect. A local Scamsoil dealer told me to run their gear lube (Yes....the stuff for two stroke trannys) and it'll shift like butter. Well, butter went to shit...cause it didn't shift any better, if anything..worse. Just went back to GearSaver, 80W. Gonna be running 2 qts of ATF in my override/lockup, per the shop that cut it...

Any of the medicinal uses here listed would tell me that person should not be in the seat of a four wheeler, period. It doesn't make you a better driver, it just makes you more of an idiot for thinking you are. 87...do what ya gotta do on your land/private land. I've been riding in MI for over 20 years, and we've had way too much riding areas and land taken from us in that time, shit like this just give us ALL a bad name, whether 2 people or 2000 people do it...period... We really don't need to give anyone anymore ammo to shut the few areas/trails we have down... Jhughes....I think you'd agree, if you had a bad migraine, screaming exhaust is probably not the best cure for that...right? Do what you want in your home/personal life, don't be a dipshit and post it on a public forum.... -
21mm is the measurement, but at this point it'd be a good idea to completely dissasemble the carbs and clean 'em up real good. Float is set too high, or the needle/seat aren't sealing properly...

shee loses power while in powerband
dajogejr replied to Bigkahun74's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Have you tried changing the main jet? Has it ever run right? It sounds like either electrical or an air leak. Test compression, test for an air leak...and check all your connections. Do you have the TORS removed? Fresh gas/oil, fresh plugs? Try a fatter main, just for the hell of it, like 340s. If it makes NO difference, check for an air leak. -
I'm in process of getting my frame back from a buddy, and putting a roller together, clean frame, no bends/breaks, etc., 100% straight, with title. Let's talk.... I really don't want to go to Ebay If I don't have to.

Sorry to hear that JD. I just lost a ton of respect for you. On your own personal land, fine...do what you want. In PUBLIC riding areas....stay straight....or stay at the camp/truck. I know exactly what you mean. Group of my friends just left this morning for Grand Marais (Spelling??). One of them wakes up to a beer...goes all day and all night, not a minute spent awake sober. He's had more accidents than anyone or any 10 people I know combined. And his good buddy died on a sled up there, off the trail, drunk/stoned as all hell, punctured a lung with a tree branch and bled to death in the middle of nowhere at night, in the dark and cold. Sounds like a real hoot....don't it? :: I rode behind this guy...and it was like watching a pinball bounce off the banked parts of groomed trails....just a yard sale waiting to happen. And those sled get up and go a lot faster than banshees...and have a helluva lot more top end to boot. Just stupid, any way you cut it. JD, you do know you are subject to the same laws as driving a car while using an ATV or snowmobile on trails in MI? Stoned or drunk, it's just plain wrong on public trails or riding areas... -
Cant find anything throught search
dajogejr replied to trueraiderfan's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
You shouldn't have to give him a reason, it's YOUR bike. Just tell him not to do it, and that's that.... Now...if he wants to pay for the rebuild...then, hey...it's up to you!!! I'm sure with all the drag racers and high end engine builders out there, if this really netted gains over reliability, they'd be doing it too... -
I feel ya... I'm trying to off mine for more funds for my 10 mil build, and I don't need it. Lot of interest, no takers though. One guy in Alaska was interested....I just couldn't see him paying double the shipping for it. If Rizzo doesn't want it, I'm putting it together and off to ebay it goes. I just HATE dealing with ebay and the deadbeat/scammers!!
